July Running Session

A very hot day but a lovely one. Our first day steaming since last September. Gave us a chance to see how Nigel would steam after all that flushing out. End result was fantastic steaming, although some other issues still to sort.

One of my ancestors (my great great grandfather) had a miniature railway in there garden which was used for a working launderette they owned they built it in 1920s two of his sons were engineers (one of them was my great grandad) and I think he must of been mechanically minded as well and it went all around garden into sheds and laundry would be unloaded onto vans wish photos were taken of it unfortunately there is none but my grandmother remembers going on it in the garden in the late 1940s and 1950s.

Did you find any leaks in the boiler after the descaling ? She sounds great and picks up speed well so looks like a result to me. And I see your mate joined you with his beautiful 060 - which now reminds me of an early loco from Timothy Hackworth.

No the boiler steamed beautifully. Lovely dry steam. Only problem is that it highlighted a few other small issues in the rest of the engine so will now need to sort those, but always good to have things to sort
