    Man these kids are pretty damn good, especially since they are really young. Can't wait to see these kids grow up into adults, improving and really showing that metal isn't just for white kids.

  • @cannibaltears1979

    I just heard of these kids on the y news. I'm a music afficianado. Music is music regardless of who's playing it. Look at one of the greatest recording artists of all times that's still pulling in millions every year even though he's been dead for over 30 years, the great Jimi Hendrix (A BLACK MAN THAT WAS DOP AS FUCK). I hope these kids make it big, but don't loose touch where they came from. I'm digging it. They're dope as hell man and to all of those people that are haters in the world that think they are posers, fuck you. Quit being a racist fucker because all music is music regardless of who is doing it. Look at Seven Dust and KSE. Lead singer is black and they rock out harder than some of these modern groups that proclaim to be metal artist. Stop the hate and congratulate. I applaud these kids.

    • @staciehawkins181
      @staciehawkins181 10 років тому +1

      dachel doom Seriously? They are going to be thrust on to a bigger stage with older more experienced musicians and they are going to have to catch up and fast. They are going to start working with producers and writers and begin recording songs. If they don't start producing hits then they will quickly get dropped from their label. They can't help but to evolve no matter what, unless they lose interest in performing all together and quit. Which is possible considering their age.

      @cloudiusstroud3635 10 років тому +7

      The 1.7 million dollar contract doesn't mean anything. Those numbers are all BEST CASE scenario. Odds are they will get the initial 60K, flop and be dropped by the major label. However if there debut album BLOWS UP the label will Opp to keep them around and then they will see the 1.7. But even if they blow up the 1.7 million will be chump change compared to what they will get in merchandise and touring

      Well I'm black so I can't be racist, and I'm still going to support them because they are black. White people have done that for centuries. Elvis, the Beatles, white people have even STOLEN black artists music and claimed it as their own giving no credit at all no royalties or anything. So yes I will support them because they are black. No it doesn't make me racist either. 😝😝😝😝😝😝😝

  • @toneycaponey1
    @toneycaponey1 10 років тому +1

    Very very good. Yes Brooklyn. You done it again. 3 middle school kids playing in Times Square holding there own. Yes they are very talented despite what you so called Metalhead experts say. Give credit where credit is due, was Eddie van halen that good on guitar at that age? or was Jimmy maybe so but if you are not part of their family you'll never know. But we have social media now and this outlet is exactly what these kids need. To show the world that they are on course to be somebody the world needs to know about, something different from the norm. Something to be celebrated. See the industry is lacking something that was pretty much necessary years ago. Is called artist development there's is no more of that nowadays. I'm glad Sony took these kids in. Instead of them going on some nonsense show like America's got talent for the judges to Discredit their talent and mash their hopes, they're to young for that. Now They will teach them, give them an excellent producer, find them a young singer to front them, then they will shine even brighter. Everything comes full circle, does anyone remember a Metal Band from Brooklyn in the 80's named Living Color who happened to be black and used to Rip every metal band they opened up for. So go on the young Band Unlocking the Chains you are worthy and you will succeed. I pray for your success.

    Under the assumption everybody put $1 in the bucket they made $13. Divide that by the three members 13/3= $4.33 a person. Calculating the ad revenue assuming they make $1 for every 1,500 views (average) they made $48.66 (73,000 views/1,500). Divide by each of the 3 members to get $16.22. That means they each made a total of $20.56 (16.22+4.33). The song was 4 min long so they would make $308.40 per hour at that rate. Not only do they deserve it but I need to reconsider my career choice.

    Also, just so you know. I actually really like this band. If I wanted to be "racist" I would say,"I hate them because they are black" But I would NEVER say that. I always give people a chance no matter what color skin they have. I've raised my 2 daughters to love someone for who they are on the inside. Really, I am a peace loving "hippie" So, if you want to call me a name that is actually true, call me a "hippie" Now that is an insult that fits my shoes if you will LOL. :)

  • @moonwalkerholly1172
    @moonwalkerholly1172 11 років тому

    OK fine I"m "racist". Just thinking in terms of statistics:). In my mind &own opinion most of the black people where I live mostly like rap. Statistically I believe there are more African Americans )that listen to rap music. I'm just talking from my own experience of what I've witnessed and what I've seen. Not being racist. I actually have friends that are black. They all listened to rap/hip hop and not much else.. :).

  • @XlouietheflyX
    @XlouietheflyX 11 років тому

    Good to see young African-American kids getting into metal and hardcore. White kids are doing hip-hop around the world so what's the problem? People of all shades been in this genres since the beginning in Brazil. Jimi Hendrix was huge influence on metal via Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing (including Slayer guitarist Kerry King) and Judas Priest had a black drummer in their early years, Congo Campbell. Black Sabbath practically invented heavy metal, but started out in blues, a black genre.

  • @570ad
    @570ad 11 років тому

    Why are people surprised, Black people invented Rock Music. Many major popular musical genres in this country (US) are Black-made. Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop, RnB, etc., and all the sub genres that branched off from the parent groups, which wouldn't be there without the original inspiration.

  • @moonwalkerholly1172
    @moonwalkerholly1172 11 років тому

    Yes, but I don't know too many(politically correct) African Americans who do this. Most I know are more into rap crap music. Nice to see a change for a change.. More people need to stop being "sheeple" and follow their own path not what the majority of their own race does.

    Kinda sad that metal is quite popular in South America, Asia, the Middle East but then black people have their race pointed out when they participate in metal....

    Seriously, if these kids keep it up, they could become the next Animals As Leaders, just less Djenty.
    Definitely going to be keeping an eye on them in the future.

    Is this a joke? How could they have landed a 1.8 million dollar record deal?
    I appreciate their desire to be a band and I hope they continue as long as they improve. They're ROUGH. REALLY ROUGH and I don't see what they record company sees.

    They remind me of 24-7 Spyz a little. You know that black metal/funk/soul band that made 'Grandma Dynamite' & other classics?
    This is nice to see, being a black metal/hard rock fan.

    I have been the bassist in a few metal bands. Anyone who says bass doesn't matter in metal should see my friends band Gotsu Totsu Kotsu.

    Not that they're bad, but their rhythm isn't that good. But maybe will get next Abasi since they got the deal, unless won't grow up to play generic metalcore.

      they got better rhythm than I did when I was 13. But it's a little lame to appreciate an artist who's good "for being x years old." In the end if these kids can't make decent metal records that'll be all that matters. I wish them good luck in the mean time.

    I feel for these kids. They will get screwed by the record label. They have to sell 250,000 records to actually see any real money or to have their contract extended. In this day and age those kind of sales figures are virtually impossible. And while it is great to see a bunch of young black kids into metal, they are not very good at all. The ONLY reason they got signed is because of the color of their skin. If this was a bunch of white kids no one but their parents and a few kids at their school would give a shit. Anyone remember Black Tide? Those kids could REALLY play and they have already gone the way of the dodo after 2 records.

    I'm a bit astonished, I'm listening to Metal since I was tree and I one thing I really like about it, is that no one gives a shit about what skin color you have. If your able to play a Guitar on a high Level I'm going to hear it no matter if you're Asian, black or white. So I'm Astonished that now it is special when tree black guys play Metal.... its kind of racism to think this is something else.
    About the Band: They really rock but now they need a singer!

  • @eisenkeith

    I'll say this when it comes to the color of these kids (color which of course shouldn't matter) they were getting quite a few dollar bills thrown in to their bucket (way more than most street musicians) and I conjecture part of that was individuals who had an inner monologue such as, "Wow! black kids playing guitar! I MUST encourage this and give them money." I encourage everyone to do what they love so to that end I'm happy to see such young kids with the balls to play in public like that.

    I couldn't agree more. The early rock musicians were all African-American, not only African-American but African-American women to be precise, Memphis Minnie, Sister Rosetta Tharpe etc. Pink Floyd are named after two blues singers ffs, & people still feel the need to deny the real heritage of RocknRoll. To make it even worse the Guitar itself came to Europe via The Moors of Africa. So on both levels whether you're talking ancient history or modern blues, we should be playing Rock music still.

    In my my great wisdom the Black race collectively created rock&roll a little over 100 years ago in the southern states. Do be so sensitive. I the 35 year old black guy who drives around my city rockin Fugazi. Getting hard stares from black and white people like i'm strange. I could give a f$%k about the musicians race. The comment I made was in response to "Bla Bla Bla Blabber" who suggested that Black people "just" discovered Rock&Roll. I was insulted then you called me a racist. Thanks!
