Rapid maneuver's no longer effects mount speed as is my understanding its just for on foot movement. what you want is the first passive in the assault line, which gives major gallop at all times at rank 3. that is a permanent 30 percent buff to mount speed.
Very true. You now have to have at least one rank in the passive skill Continuous Attack from the Assault skill line. It will show the buff once you get the rank, but it seems like there might be a UI bug when you relog. The buff is still active but not showing on relog.
thanks for the update, just doing the alliance training tutorial on a new level 10 character will get you to rank 3 to get the first passive in the assault line which gives major gallop and suddenly they're galloping around much faster!
Just FYI do the FULL intro quest it will get you to rank 3, not doing it will only get you to rank 2. Also, killing a delve boss gives you a buff for extra AP.
thanks for showing that. i still can't believe they made that change. it slows the game down something awful and makes it very boring travelling around. i even tried fixing up walls and attempting pvp content but being smashed by min-maxers over and over but having to do that on each character ruined the game for me.
I can imagine these methods will also help complete newbies who don't have high gear, etc 🤔 that might be an idea for my newbie characters. Thanks for the tips!
I ran around and took 2 keeps and didnt even go from lvl 3 to 4 in assault :/ damn caltrops. Also from doing the intro tutorial quests i got to lvl 3 in assault
June 25, 2021....you don't need to do all this. Hit lvl 10. Go into pvp, fight. You first kill unlocks the skill lines. No quest needed. Once you have the skill lines you have to pvp to unlock the wanted skill. For rapids you have to get the skill line to lvl 5. So pvp until you get it. Once you unlock the skill, slot it. It will level up normally, in PvE. I took my new lvl 10 into pvp before posting. Went to the first fight I could find, got a kill and the skill lines. Did no quests, not even the Mid Year Mayhem, which is currently on going. Getting the skill lines is simpler then this vid makes it out to be.
What about getting insta-killed? I'm new to the game and my character is a nord dk vamp. I hate most pvp in mmo's because I get one shotted by a higher level invisible assassin. (perfect world) Do I even have a chance of killing anyone my level?
@@Runic_Blood to get the pvp skills, look for a big fight. Get to it and make sure you hit some enemy players. You wont need to kill them, but you will have to wait for someome else to kill them. If another player kills a player you had hit, you will get AP for it. So hit as many players as you can, then duck some. I do recommend staying inside the wall while doing this if your a real low lvl. Do not go out onto the battlefield. Keep using ranged attacks. Also...the Daily Login Rewards sometimes offers AP. If you claim the AP on a toon with no AP (a toon that has not been in pvp), you will get the skill lines witnout having to go into pvp. And you claiming future daily rewards AP on that toon (or any toon) will raise those skill lines some.
Hi there, but how long to lvl 5? I AM 3 at the moment from tutorial. SO how much more doing mostly the repair one and some of the other two here and there? Thank You, great vídeo very well explained btw.
@@anthonylopez5 An actual clown take suggesting people should just play with 3/4 of their kit. We have a valiant game defender excusing the game for forcing people to do things they don't want to do. There's 2 skill lines in the whole game that you have to do this for. It no different than the other skills. If you want to level up duel wield then you have to duel wield.. if you want the perks of a skill that is from doing the PvP content then the price for that is PvP sorry it seems forced but it's your choice there's tons of other ways to increase mount speed if that's all you want. Caldrops is part of the build I use an it's a skill from the assault line and I don't PvP well plus I offen use the plaguebreaker armor set to grind xp there's good perks to it but you could easily get by without ever doing PvP it dosent damage the game at all. There's no difference in doing this than any other skill in the game.
Find a big group and don't face tank every enemy you see. Learn to hide when necessary (when you are being focused). One battleground is enough to get rapid manuever. Leveling this through repairing = have fun repairing a wall a half a million times!
Do not listen to this guy when he says to skip the tutorial--you will be stuck at level 2 and you will have to go to great lengths to get your next level. The least he could do is correct his video when you get to that part. Not everyone reads comments BEFORE watching the video.
it's so much faster to simply spam random battlegrounds and getting carried 1/2 of games. repairing fortresses is slow AND expensive i wouldn't recommend it unless you have gold or alliance point to waste and want to watch netflix at the same time.
That is definitely a great way to accomplish it as well! That's the route I take, but I know there are other people out there like my wife who just cant stand the pvp side of things. So i figured why not offer up a way where they can avoid as much as they can, while still getting the skill they want.

How do I get the assault skill tree? Its not unlocked for me atm, do I have to play pvp?
@@MattDoesLife539 Just enter Cyrodil and accept the first Q that pops up in front of you :) I believe you can get it via BGs too.
I appreciate this. There are some skills in that line that I need for my build, but I absolutely can't stand pvp.

You got it! Hopefully this helped make it a little easier to get rapids.

when you were repairing, you earned over 1500 points with ~5 "Q"s. That's a lot faster than taking the flag for 3 minutes for 1500 :) Balance...
If you say you do need training it's worth doing as you'll get some AP for completing the tutorial
Omg Thank you for actually showing how to do this.
Anytime! I know that there's alot of people who don't pvp, but still want to use some of the useful skills that it can provide.
How do we know if something is damaged? I see no UI to tell us: "This needs fixing. This can be interacted, with."

Granted, what is shown is a way to gain some extra AP. But a new player seeing this, they may think this is all required. I am just stating It Is Not.

The whole point was pvp sucks for some people and there is a way to do it without pvp.
Derp
thank you sooooo much!! i need barrier on my pve healer and it cant do damage at all so it leave me with few options and this will definitely help!
Play in groups as a healer, arrive at keeps that your team are about to take.
Excellent idea!

So it's a total of 30k from 3-4 and another 60k from 4-5.
Try just running with random groups and capture resources/fortc. You can farm 50000k ap a day easy, dont even need to fight, just follow people.
I see you're with the aldermary dominion. do you need some backup I haven't seen anyone?
Which means being fast and invisible is by far the best way to level assault? 🙂
Great video
thanks! 2 years later lol
With the last tip (the siege weapons) you didn’t explain why we need them? You just showed yourself using them.
I repaired like 100 walls didn’t get any xp damaged keeps I got absolutely nothing for it fuck i just wanna move a little faster while I grind
They really force you to take part in this to unlock skills? This game's skill unlock system is a mess.

I'd rather do that than go through the heck that is trying to act out there on the battlefield, with broken mechanics.

Bro nothing is broken I don't think anyone is playing this anymore.
Really? I see lots of people playing right now
