I love that you're pulling brave writer in! We absolutely love brave writer! And I'm just as lost on math. We loved TGTB math so I think we might stick with that but I am considering a 2nd math curriculum as well. I'd be interested in seeing a flip through of Saxon math 4 if you could please
Fun to use some brave writer! We attempted to use BW as our core for our grade 4 year this past year, and ended up with something else (bc I needed the structure and layout there as the teacher) but the dart and arrow guides are a lot of fun! My grade 1 son enjoyed listening in with those also- they can totally be used as a family book study 😀
You are just my favorite, hehe. Thank you for this! My daughter is going into 4th next year so this is really helpful:) And my son will be in 2nd grade!!
Loving these curriculum pick videos, thanks for putting them together!! Did not realize Brave Writer did the literature singles, soooo excited to incorporate this into our school!
did you get a different binding machine? I noticed the white spines on tgtb handwriting- or maybe you just ordered it from them. lol! I need a good binding machine for my kids. thanks girl!
Definitely want to see a flip through of Saxon when you get it! My daughter said she didn’t want to do TGTB math anymore bc she just wants to get to the “meat and potatoes” lol. She’s 7! I can’t believe she said that. We are going with Horizons for this coming year, but would love to see an older level of Saxon!
We have been reading through the Guy Stuff book in the mornings and it has been wonderful! Alex at 9 loves it! I chose to do it now because he plays on an 11/12U baseball team. I wanted to give him the correct information before he heard talk in the dugout.
I’m all for that too... my son went thru puberty when he was 10 almost 11... so he caught me a bi5 by surprise... so a bit early is very smart... thankfully my son an$ I are very close and he came to me with questions...
Three of my kids are absolutely loving Jump In for writing, but I've always wanted to know more about Brave Writer. I'm thinking I may incorporate that into my other children's coming schedules now. 😍
I love the good & the beautiful so much! I agree with you on the spelling and math 100% ill definitely look into the Evan Moore spelling & just like you said, tgtb math kind of overwhelmed me with all of the manipulatives but I'm thinking about giving it another go for next year... also, my daughter uses teaching textbook & it has been a life saver for us!
I love BJU spelling because it is traditional and my now 3rd grader does it completely independently except for her test on Fridays. TGATB handwriting is AWESOME using that again for sure. In my house thought we are the most excited to do apologia Zoology land animals and the Junior Journals that go with them.
This will be our 3rd year homeschooling as well. We are in the same boat about math. I love Teaching Textbooks as well. I've heard that Saxon is the one to use especially for middle and high school. I went ahead and bought it for next year, but it's nice to know we can always go back to TT since it's so affordable. Have also heard of people using more than one curriculum so that's neat. We use TGATB for LA as well. We will also be using Essentials in Writing for composition.
We are using essentials in writing, math u see, all about reading/spelling, truth quest history or Simply Charlotte Mason history/bible/geography, tgatb science and my own bible curriculum. We also do supplemental science experiments, typing, hw/ot handwriting.
Thanks for your presentation. I have twins grade 4. This is my first year homeschooling, if you have time, could you list the handwriting book and the other book your'e using for language arts?
Math is our struggle too. We did Level K TGTB two years ago and loved it but level 1 was a flop so moved to master books but now feel like we need more. I am looking into Christian Light Education for math this coming year. My youngest is doing Level K TGTB this year since we do like that one and I had everything for it, but definitely want to find that one math that we stick with for the long haul.
I’m curious as what happened with level 1. I’m currently doing the K TGTB with my daughter. All of my kids have been hands on learners so the manipulatives have been great added bonuses. But curious to hear your reasoning before I choose. I am “researching” :-)
@@justme2059 I'm not really sure, he just kind of lost interest and wasn't really into it anymore. I wasn't a fan of the amount of things needed for each lesson either which is also what I'm not thrilled about with level K but you would do the lesson and then have to get out a game and I had the PDF version because the box was constantly sold out at the time so it could just be us and would completely work for you guys especially the new version but we are going to something more simplified in general. I have been looking at the new Apologia math (they have 3 levels so far) as well which is still hands on but doesn't seem to be soooooo involved and I am actually considering doing that level 2 and CLE in conjunction for some hands on visual and then the repetition in CLE. Finding the right math can be so difficult!
Yes, please do a video on brave writer after you have some time to work with it and review it!!👍 I've been so interested in it, but afraid to pull the trigger, lol! I used the care and keeping of you with my 9yo girl. It was a helpful and very tasteful spring board for talking about maturation! I agree, equip them with knowledge before the world gets its two cents worth in!! So important. Blessings to you and your family😊 ps. My thoughts on Saxon versus the good and the Beautiful math. I taught Saxon Math in public school for quite a few years. It is pretty dry as far as presentation of information and the page layouts. Pretty much just black and white. It is a spiral curriculum, so I felt like when my students had grasped a concept and it came up again and again and again I would let them choose say, which 5 problems on the page they wanted to complete, because I did not want them to feel bored or discouraged by constantly having to answer "old" questions. BUT, for my strugglers, the constant repetition was very good! They were presented with "old" questions sooo many days after days, that it eventually clicked. It is dry, it is expensive, but if your kids don't mind dry (no color or novelty) it really works! Have you tried math-u-see? The pages look very similar. Just black and white print
So after struggling with BJU math we started TT and love it but I supplemented with BJU math. It’s an amazing program but sometimes you need to pause the program and go to sheets to focus in. This year we are pairing Masterbooks Math with TT since it is a munch gentler approach and I don’t need a teachers book with it
My oldest will be entering 4th grade next year. We are changing everything for her. Saxon 6/5, CLE (Christian Light Education) LA 4, Memoria Press Literature Guides, Science Shepherd, Master Books America’s Story 2.
Have you heard of Layers of Learning? They have a writer's workshop, that I hear is more affordable than Brave Writer... I have yet to use either though! Lol So many choices for curriculumn 🤔
I’m not sure what to do for Math next year for my son. He will be in 5th grade. I used the good and the beautiful this year and the stories were a bit much for him.
I think if I stagger it out in a certain way, or even maybe skip a few of the writer's workshops- we will be okay! But I'm definitely going to try to plan it out as to not overwhelm him 😊
I know I said this before (don't know the video, so don't know if you responded or not), but your eyes look so uncanny. In a good way. They don't seem real almost. (once again, in a good way)
Would love to see more of the brave writer curriculum too!
Me too
Definitely excited to see how you incorporate Brave Writer into the curriculum.
I am SO excited to use it!

Absolutely!! 🥰
GIRL, I need to take your advice and make copies instead of writing in books that I KNOW will we will use for younger kiddos! 💗
I am terrible at putting things away and forgetting I have them, so I'll need to be organized with this!!

I still use the Pro-Click! I ordered the handwriting from TGTB ☺ I did find some white Pro-Click spines for my thicker books, though! 😍
Great to see your choices. I will have a 4th grader too this year. Thanks for sharing.
These look like such fun choices! We just finished 4th grade this past week and it's a fun year.
Thank you so much! 🤍

Hahaha what a little smarty pants!
I am finishing up the Maturation unit with my 11 yo daughter now and she is loving it. It's perfect.
That is so good to know! Thank you!!

I've heard great things about Brave Writter. I didn't know they had mini units. So cool

That sounds like a solid year!! Way to go, Mama! 🙌
We LOVE the good and the beautiful handwriting!
Brave writer is amazing!! Our whole HS is very much the Brave Writer Lifestyle
If you need to make it easier for you, both your kids can do the same dart or arrow. It works great with multiple kids
That is a great tip!!
My son loved the guy stuff book! We sat down and read it together incase he had any questions.
I am definitely interested in seeing more about the Brave Writer curriculum.
I alllways find brave writer fascinating but always find it mysterious, aha!! I’d love for you to go over it!!
Thanks for your presentation. I have twins grade 4. This is my first year homeschooling, if you have time, could you list the handwriting book and the other book your'e using for language arts?
The handwriting book is Level 5 from The Good and the Beautiful, and the Language Arts books all come together in Level 4! 🤍

How long of a break do you give your kids between school years? I'm trying to figure out what to do this year!
This year they will have about a month and a half to 2 month break!
Nothing wrong wiv carrying on a curriculum if needed. We love TGTB spelling stuff in the language arts curriculum!!!
We have not used TGATB Math at all yet, but I am very interested to see their new math when it comes out!

Thank you SO much for your insight!!!
Odd question, what mic do you use to film ? It’s clear ! Love your curriculum content as well!
I actually don't use an external mic! Just my Canon camera! :)
We love teaching textbooks and then using another good curriculum to team up with it on the side. Good luck fingering it all out.
Thank you!!

Love to know more about the brave writing mini unit!
can i just say that you are look so pretty ✨💗
Thank you!! 🤍
Would love to see how you work through the Brave Writer for The Mouse and the Motorcycle!
Definitely!! 🥰
We are really excited about TGATB math..
We love Brave Writer. We are reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle right now.
Ooh are you guys liking it??
You provide amazing tools for parents! Have you considered sharing Spanish learning tools as well?
We would love to partner with you! ❤️
I’ve heard great things about Brave Writer! I can’t wait to hear what you think!
It looks just as amazing as I imagined!
Hi did you end up liking brave writer dart used with good and the beautiful language arts? How did you fit it in?
My oldest will be entering 4th grade next year. We are changing everything for her. Saxon 6/5, CLE (Christian Light Education) LA 4, Memoria Press Literature Guides, Science Shepherd, Master Books America’s Story 2.
How do you guys like America's Story? That is something I have considered for the future!!
Or are you diving right into the second one?
Could you do a go through of Saxon math please?
Do you skip TGTB spelling altogether or do you have the kids do both? We also use TGTB and I would like to add in the Evan moor books.
Oh, you just answered my question. Should have watched the whole video before asking.
No problem, Mama!!! 🤍
Have you heard of Layers of Learning? They have a writer's workshop, that I hear is more affordable than Brave Writer... I have yet to use either though! Lol So many choices for curriculumn 🤔
Ooh I'll check that out!
@@OneBlessedMess cool! 😊
We’re using Evan-Moor spelling this year too
Have you shared how your bind your books? Thank you!
I use the Pro-Click! 😊
Are you continuing with Fix It Grammar? I’m considering starting it for my rising third grader.
YES!! We love Fix It Grammar! We will continue on with the one we started working on this year and then move on to the next book!
@@OneBlessedMess do you have just the teacher book or the teacher and student book? I’m interested in doing it on the board, so do I need both?
Wait, what is the GUY STUFF book?! Girl!!!!!!! I need to look deeper into that! Boy mom!!!!!😂🤪🤣
YES!!! It's a great resource for boys!
Also check out “Growing up Gods way for Boys” and girls! It’s so good! We went through it with our oldest and doing it with our next son this year. 😉
Why have I never thought to write the kids' names on the front of their books? Simple. I just love curriculum hauls, flip throughs, and reviews.
It helps save us so much time finding books throughout the day! 🤍
I love TGATB handwriting.
It is SO GOOD!
I’m not sure what to do for Math next year for my son. He will be in 5th grade. I used the good and the beautiful this year and the stories were a bit much for him.
I'm hoping the new TGTB Math won't be so wordy! It sounds so much more condensed 🙌
Saxon has video lessons too!
Yes!!! SUCH a difficult decision! I can't wait to look through the curriculum when it arrives!
So you think the writers workshop + brave writing is going to be too much!?
I think if I stagger it out in a certain way, or even maybe skip a few of the writer's workshops- we will be okay! But I'm definitely going to try to plan it out as to not overwhelm him 😊
Do you think explode the code is good for a poor speller ?
I certainly think it would help!!
Which binding system do you use?
I use a Pro-Click! Love it!
@@OneBlessedMess I have been looking at those..... my frugal self won’t let me buy it yet lol.
