For the wood horse, I've found the best way to remove permanent marker is to trace over the ink letters or numbers with a dry erase marker, then wipe it off with a moist cloth. I use a baby wipe, works well. It lifts the permanent marker up. I usually have to repeat the process 2 or 3 times for older marks, but I've been very pleased with the results. Good luck. The horse is great!
Another way is to have an old t shirt available then go directly over the numbers with a sharpie(black) then rub it off fast. I worked customer service for Ethan Allen for 13 years.

A lot of resellers get that. People think they " Stage" their finds because when they shop at the same goodwill they only find crap. I just think that they don't have the "Eye" for picking out what is worth money or how to stage items in their own home. Not everybody sees the same beauty of an item🤷♀️ Anywho people are crazy🤪

The hunter scene in frame is Persian polo players, painted on camel bone, the frame is marquetry. The value depends on age etc. Detail, etc, but at any rate several hundred dollars.
OMG..You have found an ORIGINAL E. H Shepard drawing. He is the original illustrator for all the A. A. Milne books on Winnie the Pooh!! Plus you have the providence from the Albert and Victoria Museum where they were donated. Make certain this gets in a real auction for original art work. I would bet a number of museums would want this for their collection. The drawing you have is from the "House of Pooh". Please do your research on that sketch. Most of the drawing were simple pencil sketches in the book. I'm sooo jealous!! What a find.
The emerald green bowl you pulled from that shopping basket is called Burple by Anchor Hocking. That bowl is a small bowl to a berry bowl set. My great grandmother had this exact set.

13:32 I have good luck removing marker with Goo Gone on a Q-tip. I would start out tracing over the mark with a Dry Erase marker and wiping it off, then use Goo Gone on any remaining smudges. Note: Goo Gone can leave a grease spot, but it is volatile, so the grease spot evaporates in a few hours to a few days.

The toucan has the pegs on his feet… you drill holes into a branch (make sure it’s close enough to the edge do his tail can hang down and balance him) and then he sits there to make people happy!

That wooden horse made my "eyes stick out on stems"! If I'd have found it, I would've geeked out! What great finds!!!!! Both visits to this particular Goodwill were well worth the hour & 45 minute drive. Regretfully, the Goodwill in my area doesn't offer a whole lot, but have found some treasures there. I go regularly because you just never know when a treasure will show up that wants to go home with me. I look forward to your videos as I shop vicariously through you. Thank you!

It may be worth having a new ear made for the horse. You may want to keep a few refinishing pens in the shop to touch up finishes. If the piece is valuable, sell as is and let the buyer pay but if it's not it will sell better with some nice attention to the finish. It wouldn't take long.

You can use dry erase markers over sharpie to get the sharpie off. Just write over, let dry then use a dry magic eraser to whipe it off. It may take multiple trys but it works. The horse is awesome.
You may already know this trick if you do disregard if you don't maybe it will help if that horse and they marked it with a sharpie then you should be able to take a dry erase and go directly over top of the sharpie markings tracing it and then wiping it all with a dry eraser...

You can remove sharpie marks bbb by coloring over it with a dry erase marker and then willing off before it dries off. It may take a few times to get it all off.
Luckily 1st trip was exciting with finding so much so quickly with Andrew in the car while Laurel was napping. Very nice artwork on the 2nd trip and the horse for the booth.

So something tells me that was a Belair Maryland and Goodwill. Belair was a very affluent neighborhood in the 60s and 70s and 80s so you’ll probably find really good stuff in those Goodwill‘s because the young people won’t know what their parents had and they’ll just get rid of it.

The cousins scattered everywhere throughout Harford Cty. I grew up in Elkton actually just across the river. I enjoyed the CLL video about Harve de Grace. One of my favorite places to visit!
The horse was pretty epic and wood, at least for me is probably the easiest to repair. It wouldn't be too difficult, for those who have the time to carve an ear and reattach it. I've used dry erase markers to remove the permanent marker it works really well or try alcohol.
I’d drive an hour and 45 minutes for that Goodwill, too. On your second trip, I think there was a fourth Japan plate in the cart with new merchandise- but it was hard to tell since it was sideways in the tote with dishes. I love the artwork you picked up.
It is always nice to find a shop that still has decent prices. I understand that times change, an so do prices. But the quality of the goods shouldn't go down. ( I wasn't referring to this particular Goodwill )
I don’t understand those that think you stage your finds. You can tell by the way that you film that it wouldn’t be possible. For the items you miss and go back to.. that would be a pretty elaborate setup to accomplish. Sweet equestrian find! I found a 14" 1890's Italian leather wrapped thoroughbred sculpture. I grabbed it last second for 50¢, thinking it was broken but I could fix it. Or incorporate it into a Sleepy Hollow diorama. When I was cataloguing my haul I realized the leather is actually horse hide! It's hard to get a consistent value, because they are listed with an incorrect or incomplete description for as low as $30, and as high as $4,000. So I think I will just hold onto it. It's glass eyes are creepy af! :)
I have that same cat. I bought it at Costco a few years ago. It’s outside on my covered back porch and is just starting to show signs of peeling. I’ve been debating whether to try and paint it.

Sometimes writing over the sharpie price with a dry erase marker, then immediately wiping off will remove it. May be worth a try.
