I had the chance to bump into her in manhatten a few years ago and she was so sweet and kind and she actually had taken time to have a cofee with me and chat she was a great lady and classy one as well as a number one act and a favorite of mine . I have many records of hers and most of the artist are not so kind to give time to a fan but she was totally different a real lady and she gave me a huge hug and I told her I wanted to sing and so she was so inspirational to me and said you can do it I believe in you and so now I sing and I thank god for lesley gore and god bless you you will never be forgotten your voice and music will live forever
yes it is and I hope and pray that she is not in pain and able to rest at peace and she has really touched millions of lives and will keep touching lives as her music lives on in our hearts and on cd and records and tape . thank you again for posting this
every time I hear a Lesley Gore song I start to sing along and it always puts a smile on my face no matter what song it is . she had that way to make people happy thank you again
My experience with Lesley Gore was different. In 1980 I was working in a restaurant and Lesley came in. I said I enjoyed her performance on the TAMI Show which was having a special showing in a theatre in NYC. that week. Well, she reacted which such venom and hatred that I was momentarily stunned into paralysis. So I just moved on serving the other customers in the restaurant glad that she was not sitting at one of my tables. Go figure.
THANK YOU LESLIE GORE FOR BEING ABLE TO DANCE TO YOUR MUSIC IN THE SIXTYS AND 70S I WAS A GREAT FAN OF YOURS I AM NOW 67 AND I STILL ENJOY YOUR MUSIC GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS
Not that I doubted her, but wow Lesley could still do this song justice 50 years on in 2014! Obviously I love the original but this version has a certain touching quality about it, this is most definitely going on my playlist! RIP Lesley Gore
How long had she been ill? When was she diagnosed and did she go on performing? Still can't believe she is gone, yet she will live on forever with her music, I love so dearly...
Lesley was diagnosed in Jan. 2015 and died Feb. 16, 2015. She had a pain in her back and went for an MRI when the large tumor was discovered. :-( Such a loss. I love Lesley Gore and am a professional singer. I include a few of her songs in my 'girl group' shows and will be performing a tribute to her with 4 of her songs in an upcoming show. I hope to master a full show one day performing her songs and telling her story.

Oh absolutely! Her vocal range began to lower noticeably in the eighties. This meant she couldn't sing the same way she did as a teenager, however Lesley embraced the new range and found new more expressive ways of singing her old hits, this video is a lovely example of that.

A great loss to our generation; one that grew up with her. She was a classy girl, woman, and person. RIP Lesley. Never forgotten.
I loved her and I shall miss her forever.

PASSED 5 YEARS AGO FEBRUARY 16.
Wow
No one else has said but is this Lesley singing?
Yes, it definitely is. She was much older here.
