The Patriots capped the throwback day by turning in an old-school performance.
Rookie Bailey Zappe threw a touchdown pass in his first career start, Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for a career-high 161 yards, and the Patriots overwhelmed the Detroit Lions 29-0.

The reason Zappe looks good is because the entire team is playing much better than they were the first 3 weeks. Add on to that Zappe is being asked very little and not doing hard things and Mac is being pushed now. Mac is still #1

Mac Jones is still the guy. 2nd year QB in a new offense is gonna struggle in the beginning. Zappe played well but it wasn't a mind blowing performance against a pretty bad Lions Defense. He was a game Manager. I think Mac plays better no doubt. I haven't seen enough to make me think Mac's job is in Jeopardy. Let's see how he looks against a better browns defense on the road.
