WHAT IS A REALISTIC REBORN BABY DOLL?
A reborn baby is a realistic baby doll that was first sculpted out of clay by an artist to then produce blank vinyl kits that is then hand painted and assembled (aka "reborned") by reborn artists, such as myself! They are one-of-a-kind creations that are made to realistically resemble a real baby as much as possible! Reborn babies are weighted to be as heavy as a real baby, they have details such as real looking mottled skin, milk spots, baby acne, "under the skin" appearance of veins, lanugo, rooted hair, they're often modified to take a pacifier, etc... (of course, depending on what the artist chooses to include.. the price will reflect the level of detailing). Reborn dolls LOOK, FEEL, and sometimes even SMELL like a real baby!!! You can dress them up in real baby clothes, and use real baby items on them such as strollers, cribs, carseats, etc... making them a ton of fun to have and enjoy! Often times, they will come home with a "box opening" which is the traditional way a reborn is sent off to their new home with lots of outfits and goodies that can be used with the baby such as a stuffed animal, a pacifier, maybe a hair brush or bib... creating a beautiful way to interact with your new baby! Reborn dolls are collectors items and not the most suitable baby doll for children, however, many responsible children are gifted them by their parents and loved ones. They can range anywhere from $100s-$1000s of dollars, depending on the artist's skill level.
REBORN THERAPY
Reborn baby dolls are not only one-of-kind hand painted works of art, but are also amazing therapy tools for those dealing with all sorts of disabilities and circumstances, such as Alzheimer's, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, anxiety, grief (ex: loss of a child, miscarriage, stillbirth, etc). Holding a reborn baby can feel very similar to holding a real baby, causing the body to release a hormone called "Oxytocin" which creates a feeling of wellbeing throughout the body, reducing the body's stress response and calming the nervous system. Stress is known to wreak havoc on the body's immune system. Oxytocin is often referred to as "the cuddle hormone" for this reason. Reborn dolls can often help one process their grief when they would normally feel pressured by society to stay silent. (cafemom.com/pa...)
HOW TO PURCHASE A REBORN DOLL
Find a reputable source such as straight from the artist themselves or reborns.com. You can also try buy and sell groups on Facebook. One pro tip: NEVER purchase from China or if a deal is "too good to be true" it probably is! Most of the quality reborn babies out there will be at least $200. There are lots of reborn doll scam sites, many reside in China, and scammers in the Facebook groups that will try to cheat you. Be very careful! The best places to shop are straight from the artist themselves (such as myself!) or reborns.com! Amazon.com does NOT sell real reborn dolls.

Ya I never win giveaways. My dog recently died and I really wanted something to cuddle and help me emotionally. I don’t know what I’m gunna do. I have nothing left. The baby was my last hope. I could never afford one. This is it. Bye bye world.
You’re not the only one who wanted her, hon. That’s the problem with giveaways. A lot of people want to win but only one person can be chosen. You just have to deal with it.
Darling, I can only imagine you're a young child or in your early teens and to quote Candace Owens "Life's tough, wear a helmet" applies to you because no matter whether you entered multiple times or just a single time, giveaways function on being completely random. Unless you have 45 tickets out of 50, your chances are about as even as everyone else's chances.
My advice to you, having read your comment - if you want a doll to cuddle, buy yourself a Berenguer La Newborn 14" vinyl baby doll, get a reborn doll cloth body to match, buy some stuffing and weighting materials... this can be done all for less than $75, even cheaper if you get the doll second hand or in thrift.
Make that doll your own, then you've got a weighted baby that costs less than an average reborn doll AND you played a part in assembling it... heck, get some paints like acrylic paints and paint that doll too, doesn't have to be master artist quality and acrylic wipes off too pretty easily if you use thin-ish layers, straight from the bottle even.
So, presuming this is what you meant, don't comment acting like you're going to off yourself because you didn't win a baby doll. If this doll was sold rather than given away, it'd be over $500 if not $1,000 and no body needs a doll of that value to provide comfort, in your case, having lost your dog, it's the weight that is comforting for most of us.
Autistic people can use weighted blankets and those really help because of the weight which helps to ground them somewhat, just like weighted reborns to some people. It's the weight for a lot of people, not how realistic their face is.
So again, please kindly don't speak the way you have in future with trying to get sympathy using the old 'kill myself' trick because people are tired of that, that's clearly what you were making out to want to do.
If you're a youngster, save up pocket money or explain this to your parents. They can help you get the parts to make your own doll, it's the mature way to act.
There are no free rides in life so work around the things that prevent you from getting the nice things you want, like money, who needs a fancy baby doll when you can make your own or buy a cheap budget baby that most of us artists offer for people just like you ❤
