It's been done. In the Quebec ice storm of 1998, two CN M-420's were taken off the tracks and literally rolled on their own power down the main street of Boucherville, QC, to act as backup generators.
That driver in Kansas City was being extra smart, not only did he drive onto the tracks, but when the train came he just stood in gauge of the adjective track, good thing he didn't have another train coming at his back
I've ridden thru Flagstaff & KC on the SouthWest Chief a few time. Loads of freight trains thru both those stations. I'm amazed the car at AZ didn't get moved along by a 100 wagon freight train.
@@makmixmix Well, I can understand the one at Flagstaff because of the heavy snowfall and lack of visibility. I suspect alcohol involved in the Kansas City truck.
Scene One: Lost during a snow storm and GPS says "turn left now..." circles parking lot and verifies GPS... returns to route and GPS says "turn left now... proceed west to next left or right... immediately". Scene Two: Driver negotiating rail ties decides to high center the left side and lose movement... trys to defy the obvious for minutes, to make the car move... turns off lights and exits by foot as train approaches... a turkey spared?
Jimm That front end loader guy sure made tracks when the warning lights lit up. Mr. Scott probably busted the oil pan on the rail. Was he using gps navigation?
The first one could probably be forgiven for his mistake...in the snow he may have thought he was turning on to a street and couldn't see the tracks. The second one...well, I see no excuse for him.
First clip the loader shunted the track, and caused the gates to go down. Second clip smart did not pass a red signal, but not to smart to just be there.
Flagstaff gets snow? I never would of known!! Does it always snow there in the winter? I've not been to AZ, though I'd love to live there. Tired of the snow and cold up here in Ontario Canada!!
@@rickt.1870 Thanks Rick! I never knew that before. Just goes to show, it's the same up here. Some folks think it's igloo weather year round, even though in summer it can get up to 110 degrees up here. I thought Arizona was all hot dry desert! LOL Cheers mate!!
Hey guys if we try to ride on the tracks in our car in this deep snow there is a chance we could get stuck and be on UA-cam for everyone to see. Oh look it happened
My biggest question is cant these drivers tell the difference between the tracks and the road and what were they thinking by driving down the track don't they have any common sense to know that there car is going to get stuck and possibly hit by a train as well they need to pay more attention where they are going instead of that phone
You know, I used to be a police officer. Until one day I had a dream that a platypus knocked on my door and told me to stop interfering with natural selection.
And now for the second act let's see if the same thing happens but this time in Kansas city. But no snow. Well let's try it anyway. Look we got stuck and we are on UA-cam. Oh great
The definition of insanity - doing the same thing over & over, and expecting different results. Hey, nothing happened the first 18 times we put it in reverse; let's do it again & gun the motor! Maybe something'll happen THIS time!

The cars don’t think anything, but neither do the drivers apparently.

😂😂😂😂😂
I'm quite sure that's exactly the kind of call 911 has gotten over the years
😂😂😂 not only did they get them out but the bill it's a couple thousands maybe trespassing.
"No, we're not in Ashland, VA, why are you asking?" ^^
Sometimes you really gotta wonder about these people.....
I wonder when they will provide us with more glorious content such as this
I think what I'm most impressed by in this video is the amount of snow that a city in Arizona gets.
Same it's so dry
Flagstaff averages about 112 inches per year.
*joins chat*
This isn't Ashland...
Ron doesn’t get it. 😂
"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Ashland anymore..."
I want to see engines act as cars. Can't image a SD70ACE going down the interstate
Peterbuilt rolling stock?

You would expect this to happen at Ashland.
Alcohol and snow. A good mixer
guess we can add Flagstaff and KC to the honored ranks of Ashland and La Grange. side note, hilarious dunce cap on driver at 15:46 LOL
Oh! Wow! Seriously crazy! Thank God for helpers!
That big building just south of the tracks is a bar...ya think maybe alcohol was involved? LOL
i guess these people need to carry some wooden wedges with them to get their wheels over the rails. LOL
Or stop driving!
These people need to carry some brain with them not to get to the rails, I think

Why did the train stop at 16:05. He should have help push the car off of the tracks!

If that person was sober, he (?) did a fantastic Foster Brooks visual impression.

Jeremy clarkson on the peugeot driver video !!!!!
Not to mention there is a switch in front of him, at the maintenance box.

911 is pretty good at calling the railroad and getting a main line shut down fast.

TODAY I LEARNED:
That there are entirely too many people of marginal intelligence in the world.
The last 20 years have shown me this.
somebody had one too many at Lumber Yard Brewing right next door there...
Sometimes I feel like I was the only one who had to pass a test to get a drivers license...
Did driver in KC seem a little unsteady on his feet?
Just a weak soyboy.
First clip the loader shunted the track, and caused the gates to go down. Second clip smart did not pass a red signal, but not to smart to just be there.
Was watching this on the cam they were there over 4 to 5 hours for that last one in kansas city
I really want to see what these people look like to be capable of doing this
Waiting for the guy in KC to wave at the camera!
Wow none these locations are in Ashland Va
The DMV needs to stop giving license to just anybody!! R does not stand for RACE!!😂😂
or Railroad 🤣
Your right, it stands for REALLY FAST
Me just casually waiting for a train to come hit the car
Some drivers obviously have an issue with the railroad concept!
Intoxication is funny if no one gets injured
At Kansas City. How did that car even end up there
Ashland in the snow,"Gps, turn left, now"!
To say the least, this is methed up!
I sympathize with the one in flagstaff. With that much snow, anything looks like the road.
This snow storm here in flag was really hard to see

That's a hellava lot of snow!!!
2:45. OK. Maybe the white out blizzard conditions confused them. Driving in the heavy snow does make one constipated🌨️🌨️🌨️😕😕😕
why didn't the KC driver just back up straight until reaching the road. It didn't appear the car was hung up on the rail when going forward.

It looked like a drug deal in the parking lot.
Wow and I thought these people visited Ashland.
wonder how many tickets the dude in flagstaff got? it looked like he drove on the tracks on purpose DUI?
UH...4 way flashers maybe! What are those he's asking.

Anthony Rausch it snows quite a bit in flagstaff
Normal... 7000 feet elevation at Flagstaff.
You live in a mountain range... my bad...

The car left the saloon, wonder if that had anything to do with it.
Unbelievable. Very worrying that there are so called drivers out there capable of such dangerous stupidity.
Folks must have been from Ashland😆
Omg they brought their tiny child out on the tracks!!! BAD PARENTS!
Was there a reason or is it probably best not to know?
Are they from Ashland? LOL
I’m used to seeing this happen in Ashland but for once it’s not.
Car nav: turn left here
Driver turns left ....
Car nav: drive through to half a mile, then take the next right turn
Driver .... ???
Train tracks should be completely isolated from other vehicle traffic. I’ve been in safety industry for 40 years and this accepted practice.
But the GPS said go left here.
their license must be revoked for the good of the public
Too much to eat.... obviously toomuch to drink 🍺
Notice the clock times for these two. Been drinking, much?
They probably saw a white truck that does go on the tracks and thought they could too.
Sobriety check?
Definitely! Especially the KC incident. How do you get that far down the tracks and not realize you are not on a street? Geez.

Yes DUNCE 🤣
It is a reason to take carmakers to the court if they don't write that a car can't be used in the rails
Flagstaff, then Kansas City, next Ashland? I think they're overdue...
