Lyrics:
Take a bow, the night is over
This masquerade is getting older
Lights are low, the curtains down
There's no one here
There's no one here, there's no one in the crowd
Say your lines, but do you feel them?
Do you mean what you say when there's no one around?
No one around
Watching you, watching me, one lonely star
One lonely star, you don't know who you are
I've always been in love with you
Always with you
I guess you've always known it's true
You know it's true
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say goodbye
Say goodbye
Bye-bye
Say goodbye
Make them laugh, it comes so easy
When you get to the part
Where you're breaking my heart
Breaking my heart
Hide behind your smile, all the world loves a clown
Just make them smile the whole world loves a clown
Wish you well, I cannot stay
You deserve an award for the role that you played
Role that you played
No more masquerade, you're one lonely star
One lonely star and you don't know who you are
I've always been in love with you
Always with you
I guess you've always known it's true
You know it's true
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say goodbye
Say goodbye
I've always been in love with you
Always with you
I guess you've always known it's true
You know it's true
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say goodbye
Say goodbye
Bye-bye
Say goodbye
All the world is a stage
World is a stage
And everyone has their part
Has their part
But how was I to know which way the story'd go?
How was I to know you'd break
You'd break, you'd break, you'd break
You'd break my heart?
I've always been in love with you
I've always been in love with you
I guess you've always known
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say goodbye
I've always been in love with you
Always with you
I guess you've always known it's true
You know it's true
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say goodbye
Say goodbye
Bye-bye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye

back when Madonna was a CONCEPTUAL artist and her videos were CINEMA
Watch Ghost town she still has it
+Diego Costa she still is. Have you even seen Ghosttown?
They were Brilliant breathtaking peices of art.
Living For Love & Ghosttown
+Diego Costa Madonna never hid that the cinema is one of her huge influences, for more, being an actress & filmmaker.
Express Yourself video is one example.
Several filmmakers have already been called to collaborate on her music videos as James Foley & David Fincher
Most people know Madonna as a dance artist, but she doesn't get nearly enough credit for creating some of the most beautiful and iconic ballads of the 20th AND 21st centuries. This song and video are a perfect example. See Also: Live to Tell, Rain, Crazy for You, I'll Remember, Frozen, You'll See, This Used to be My Playground ..... and the list goes on and on and on and on. Thank You Madonna, for ALL of your masterful contributions to music and culture.

Madonna is responsible for the way "Take a Bow" turned out. She cowrote and coproduced it, and the beautiful, Asian-inspired orchestrations were HER idea, not his. Babyface had never worked with a live orchestra prior to the production of this song.

Yes, If we manage to avoid looking at the poor bull dying, especially at the end. Maybe if Hispanics had actually been able to win a real war against the white "gringos" at any time in the last 400+ years, they wouldn't have to take it out on the poor bulls. But from the time of the Spanish Armada through Trafalgar up to the more recent Falklands War, they have gotten completely clobbered by whitey in a fair fight. That's gotta bother them.

it probably has samples from a Japanese classic, the melody of the chorus sounded like a Japanese karaoke classic. Madonna is not Copying. She is just Paying Tribute to Japan and Buddhism! Take A Bow is buddhism vs. her Catholic roots. The Video is about Spain and the Virgin of Guadalupe. But Take A Bow is about Buddhist teachings.

Everyone is all about 80s Madonna but 90s Madonna IS REALLY her peak. This song is still her biggest hit single in the US, spending 7 weeks at #1 in 1995. Babyface and his background vocals are excellent as well. 90s Madonna rules, she was so versatile and commanding that decade. She had her best videos, albums and tours that decade and every new album she released in the 90s it seemed she was tackling a new music genre. I mean she started the 90s Voguing and ended the 90s by releasing Ray of Light and being all spiritual and mystical. Such a change

Agreed! She was also hot af in the material girl vid
Agreed. Gorgeous.
Through the magic of Babyface this deservingly so became her longest running #1 at 7 weeks. Using the pentatonic scale and Asian Dorian mode in the string arrangement it reminds me how sophisticated and beautiful Pop music can be. I'm fortunate to have grown up in this era. The 90s showcased artists at their best. This is beautiful art. simply put.
Gabriel, you've dropped a little gem here. i had no idea what the pentatonic scale. Babyface had the entire decade on lock. People would just see his tiny signature on the back of a CD and just grab regardless of who was on the cover.
Super agree!!!
This song is so so relaxing and beautiful
🔥🔥🔥🔥
The 90s were everything and more. You put it so beautifully. 👌🏾🎶
one of her bestest song ever ❤❤ it’s 2023 now and this song still 🔥🔥🔥 it’ll never get played out i can still listen and not get tired of it ❤❤
This was the Madonna (-era) I was a fan of...her recent tour...i didnt even bother to even check ticket prices...but in 2004 I had to see her, after being such a big fan of her in the 90s, when i was a kid...still: 1992-1995.----thats MY Madonna
One of Madonna's most beautiful videos and ballads. But then again, how could she go wrong with one of the best ballad R&B singers, *Babyface* , (Kenneth Edmonds) co-writing this and smooth vocals flowing in the background??? 🥰
Madonna has amazing ballads like Crazy for You, Live to Tell, Cherish, Rain, You'll See, Frozen, The Power of Goodbye, etc
In this beautiful song that she gave her madonan, it was as if she believed that everything would be love and that love, heart and honor will always be with us.
One of a kind
Ronda...Andalusia...thats the place
Omg I haven't watched this since I was a kid. I came because it crossed my mind and thinking is that baby face. Didn't realize way back then. Just loved the Madonna "bullfighting" video
No one makes videos like this anymore. Not even Madonna 😢
This is just simply epic and beautiful ❤️
Frozen is better 😉
You're wrong about Madonna.
You didn't saw Madonna's 2019 music videos as Batuka, Dark Ballet and God Control
Also her video for Ghosttown in 2015 has a similar feel to this one
Ghosttown or those videos in 2019 could not be compared to Take A Bow, the artistry here is phenomenal. Even the production price is not comparable, record companies simply don’t invest in music videos nowadays. Not to mention Madonna is no longer the current top 10 selling artists. Resources won’t be allocated to her.
The show is over say goodbye 🎶🎶🎶❤️ timeless masterpiece with powerful lyrics
Another Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds' masterpiece with a Madonna touch: Perfect!
i didn't know he did this kool love babyface
.
@@MsDisneylandlover Babyface wrote the song and did background vocals too.
@@muyiwaadeyemi5119 Madonna AND Babyface wrote & produced the song
I am 40 now and still watching this. My favorite Madonna's MV ever
You are so right👍❤
your sobriquet's really cute ! i wonder what it means.
Am 54
This is my favourite song she's ever done. Different sound, and it suited her.
