Jessica and Mark --- You just had more fun in 24 hours in Philly than I've had in a lifetime!!!! I've only just gone to Philly for a specific purpose --- go to one of the medical establishments, or universities, etc.!!!!!! I've never thought of Philly as a place to go for JUST FUN!!!!! But you've just showed us HOW!!!!!!! I loved this one!!! Very Much!!!! And that sort of museum place, don't remember what it's name is, the one done all by one man ---- is OVER THE TOP!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!!! Could spend a whole day in there!!! Thank you for sharing your expeditions with me!! Love, Aunt Lynne ❤ 😃 🙃 🤣 ❤
Lots of places can be fun if you make it fun, and that is a part of Jessica's 'Well Lived' message - "Live your life within the moment". Thanks for watching and Commenting!
I really do try and make the best of every moment while we’re traveling and with life in general. It’s a privilege that I don’t take for granted. I’m so glad that you enjoyed our little 24 hour trip. The icing on the cake was getting to see you as well! 😆💕
I was happy to see that you were here in Philly for a weekend. You had me with you until you went to the #1 "tourist traps" - Genos & Pat's. Next time you're in town, try Angelo's Pizzaria or Delassandro's, even another neighborhood spot. I've lived in Philly all my life, so that's over 60 years of eating cheesesteaks; I wouldn't steer you wrong!! Love your channel!
I can't believe you were in my city and I didn't get a chance to see you. There's so many cubbies and sweet places I would have loved to take you. You hit a couple of my favorites Reading Terminal and Chinatown. South Street is always a blast and Spruce and Pine Streets for antiques and vintage goodies. I've been a PATS fan .
That would have been soooo much fun! I promise we will be back and I will for sure let you know so that we can meet up. I so wish I could have done some antique and vintage shopping - that would have been the cherry on top! And you’re a Pats fan eh? It was very good, but there was just something about Geno’s that got me. But I’m willing to try again! 😅😋
Wow, what memories I had while watching this video. I liked Pat's steaks, but the best cheesesteak I ever ate in Philly was cooked at a Bodega. lol Greasy, cheesy on a hard sub roll. Lord have mercy. Even better with a cold brew. What a wonderful trip before the holiday.
Pat’s definitely seems to be the favorite so far. Looks like I’m gonna have to go back soon and try again!! We were going to get a cheesesteak in Readings but I really wanted to try both Genos and Pats. Such a fun city - so happy you enjoyed it! 😆
Cheesesteaks are good all over that Philly/SJ area. One of the best I remember was at a little shop in Ardmore PA, maybe 20-30 min outside Philly. A part of the Pat's/Geno's fun is just the whole experience, the friendly-ish competition with those two being right across from one another. I used to get them with either Cooper Sharp cheese or just American, but this Cheese Wiz experience was unreal, so yummy. Who'd have thought that Wiz would be good on a steak sandwich? Well, them, obviously, and they are right!
Hi Jess & Mark it’s wonderful getting to travel all these amazing places with you guys , I love how you bring us along Jess greatly appreciate you for sharing your adventures ❤I’m already looking up that book you chose Happy Holidays can’t wait to follow vlogmis !!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! We had so much fun and that book is a must. We have been oooohing and ahhhhhing over it. So many great options for the holidays….and always! 😆 Vlogmas is going to be a blast - I’m so looking forward to it. Stay tuned!!!
Thanks so much for taking us around Philadelphia with you!! I've never been there so it's a real pleasure for me to watch and learn. It looks like a great city to visit. Glad you were able to enjoy yourselves and get some delicious food there💕💕
So glad that you enjoyed it! I always forget what a great city it is but am quickly reminded each and every time I visit. So many things to do and places to eat. I can’t wait to go back!
We are truly “soul sistahs”! I LOVE me some pickles! Philly folks used to call them Jewish pickles back in the day because we got them at Jewish deli’s. Those garlic pickles look so good! You were in Germantown, my old stomping ground. I grew up in Mt. Airy which is very close to Germantown, like minutes away. Makes me want to take a trip back home! Tell Mark he is one of my favorite kind of people. A foodie that loves Chinese food! 😊
We have to meet in person one day for sure!!!! I LOOOVE pickles and while I didn’t end up going back to get some more - I so wish I would have. They were excellent!!! Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend as much time in Germantown because we ended up spending more time than expected in the bookstore - which was everything I was hoping it would be. Philly is such a great city - the next time I’ll be asking you for recommendations for sure!! 😆
That lemon chicken looked delicious 😋 Geno's Philly cheese steak looked yummy! I gotta wear my pants with the rubber in the waist when i watch your videos 😂 Awesome video 👍🏾
Hahahaha that is hilarious - and so true about the elastic waist pants. 😂😂 That lemon chicken alone is worth the trip to Philly - but then on top of it adding in a cheesesteak….heaven! I’m still detoxing from that trip but we had such a great time. I can’t wait to go back!
Next time you go to Philadelphia, if you decide to do a cheese steak run again, ask a local--i'd say a bartender or a barista--where to get one. Nobody but nobody would recommend Pat's or Geno's. From there, opinions are divided: some swear by Angelo's, others Delessandro's, others say John's Roast Pork (yes, really), but the truth is you'd probably get a better cheesesteak than either of those at thelocal corner store with a deli counter in the back.
Well it looks like I need to get back to Philly pronto! I didn’t realize the Genos and Pats were more touristy! There were some at the market that looked amazing as well / but for sure I will try some of these others when we go back - because we’ll definitely be back! Thank you so much for watching and commenting - I appreciate it so much! 😆
OHHHHH NOOOOO! Not Gino's!!!!!!! Well, I enjoyed the trip! But I cannot do cheese whiz! But glad you did a taste test! But I'm a die hard Pat's LOL Philly is fun and there is lots to do! Next time you must do the Speakeasy! Y'all too funny....I have to make sure Elease watches this segment! I definitely want to go to the BOOK STORE! Mark is so cool! Can't wait to meet him...He has good taste all around!
I know!!!! Clearly everyone here is a Pat’s fan - but for me it was an instant yes for Gino’s. I really was hesitant on the cheese whiz but surprisingly I loved it. Like really loved it. Typically I would be a cheesesteak with provolone, mayo, mushroom and onions girl - but I loved every bit of this experience. When we go back I will for sure try Pat’s again! 😆 Uncle Bobbie’s was magical and I so wish we could have gone to the speakeasy we planned to go to. It was behind a barber shop and looked really cool. I was just way too tired to make the trek - but next time for sure! So glad you enjoyed the video!!!
I went to a speakeasy in Arizona in September! It was also behind a door in a barbershop 💈!! Too funny! There was a sista there singing Jazz! You’ll be ready next time!
New subscriber here from Philly me and mom loveeee your channel 🤩🤩🤩 I would love to help point you in the right direction on your next visit starting with food NO pats or Geno’s 🚷 for cheesesteaks 😫🤭no locals eat there mainly ppl from out of town.Reading terminal is great I have my favorites like the smoked chicken wings & corn also the grilled salmon and broccoli and rice from the Asian restaurant.I now know that mark loves Chinese🥡🥢 don’t worry got him covered 👍🏾black owned halal Chinese spot food is amazing. 🤩 I love all things thrift/salvage and have some places you would love 💗
Yay!!! That makes me so happy - welcome to the channel! I love that you are enjoying the content. I enjoy creating these videos each week so it makes me so happy knowing that you love them on the other side of the screen! Ok - now on to Philly! I'm so mad because here we thought Pat's and Geno's were where the locals went, but we clearly learned after this video that was NOT the case at all, lol!!!!! I feel I was duped - BUT now that just means when we go back this summer, we must go to where the locals go. So what are your top 3 spots for cheesesteaks?!! Also I will definitely try the smoked wings at Reading Terminal as I hope to go back each day we're there. Ooooo Black owned Halal Chinese Spot - what??!! That is a must. And thrift shops?! Ok - I'm gonna need you to email me when you have a chance please. welllivedwithjessica at gmail. I am absolutely doing a full Philly redo now that I am fully informed! Thank you so much - and again, thank you for being here!!!
@@jessicapayne ok I got chu 👍🏾 I’ll gather all the names and send them over. I may message you here to let you know I sent.and you’re welcome yess keep ‘em coming I love it here 🤩
Haha, I am originally from that area. "Who has the best cheese steak" has been a fiercely competitive subject since I was a kid! I am confident that there is no 100% sure-thing, better-than-all-the-others clear winner of best cheese steak. I've had really good ones in Ardmore, in South Jersey, even at a dive bar in Essington/Airport area. It's a great 'problem' to have - so many good options. What's your #1 choice?
Oooooo then I’ll have to try Max’s the next time we’re in Philly! I would love to try them all. 😆 Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!

We absolutely loved it and cannot wait to come back! Next time for a much longer time! 😆 Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves! Philly is very cool city, full of history, culture and food!
Does this count as ASMR? I was drooling and in a kind of a trance while watching the Lee How Fook portion.
Yes it does count, lol!!! It was definitely drool worthy! So when are we going back?!! 😆

Yessss Geno’s!!!’n❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Right?!! I thought it was delicious - although many people down in the comments didn’t agree! 😅 Guess I have to go back, lol!!
9:16 a.m. in California. What hotel did you stay in?
Hello! We stayed at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. It’s right across the street from the market and walkable to everything!!
Genos and Pats is not the best cheese steaks in Philly , over rated
I am definitely learning that in that comments! 😅 Which ones would you suggest for the next time we’re there! I’m now on a mission to taste the best!

PATs and Geno steaks don’t have nothing on max’s steak in North Philly
Oooooo then I’ll have to try Max’s the next time we’re in Philly! I would love to try them all. 😆 Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
