They wanted to watch a video of someone making a wall, so I showed them some other videos and then showed them this one. Kid is gonna be some kind of maker someday. They just love making stuff.

If I noticed accurately, it looked like part of the bottom plate was installed directly over the hardwood floors? Is this fine to do? I have a wall I want to take out and extend out a bit but that would require either installing the bottom plate over hardwood or cutting out the hardwood to install it on the subfloor. Any advice?

We are buying a trialed after being homeless for a year living with family. We’re a family of 7 and the trailer is a 3 bedroom. We are wanting to build a fourth bedroom. Could you please help me out with what all we will need to do so and a guesstimate budget of how much it’ll cost.
If that new wall was a braced wall what's the best way to connect it to the external wall seeing the top plate is butted against the ceiling linings? Is it a 4.7kn fixing needed I think? By way of nail plate connecting the top plates as per nzs3604, what would be a usable alternative to meet this if required? Cheers

When you began putting the Gib up, why did you put the first sheet up in the middle of the wall instead of starting from the edge of the wall?
Full sheets first then cut sheets to fit etc. Makes for easy square n level🤙

Yeh sweet as it's also for saving as much gib as ya can n not wasting sheets . Mark the center of ya stud level n fix ya sheet to that all the rest should be simple once ya square n level🤙

Thats interesting, we had a leaking building problem in New Zealand and since then every peice of structural timber needs to be treated The pink stuff is our minimum treated timber and we use it indoors.. I made a video about the pink timber ua-cam.com/video/OkKO5m8jipc/v-deo.html
