Potato Osmosis Experiment + Steps.
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 вер 2015
- In order to test for osmosis in the potato, you will need two empty glasses (which will later be filled with water), two glasses (one filled with sugar solution, and one filled with tap water), two potatoes, and two pins.
Potato A (Tap water potato) is peeled and cut flat on both ends and then hollowed out from the top until you barely reach the bottom. Then it is filled with the tap water and submerged in a glass filled less than half way with water. Place a pin on the outside to mark the water level of the water. Mark the outside of the glass with sharpie so you can monitor the water OUTSIDE of the potato. The same is done with Potato B (Sugar Solution Potato) except it is filled with sugar water instead of tap water. The procedure is the same otherwise.
Leave the potato alone for THREE hours then write what happened.
Even though I saw plenty of videos related to osmosis I just understood your video☺☺☺☺☺😇😇😇😇
That's awesome
thank you so much! my practical exam will go smoothly! :)
Emmy-- this is FABULOUS! :) What a fabulous biology student and video producer you are.
Thanks emmy it helped a lot in my practicals
You saved me, thanks a lot
Great Emmy 😍 keep going
Nice explanation di.... As I am having exam tomorrow thnx!
Really thank you
Like she would understand what that di stands for 😂
Wait, doesn't osmosis balance out the water concentration? I'm kinda confused because I thought the water inside the potato which was in the sugar solution cup, would decrease to balance the solution outside the potato :o
The video is interesting. Are you gonna return soon? You only have 1 video yet it's already useful.
Awesome loved it emmy
It was s nice lesson, thanks 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks a lot this really help me
Yha mine too I did it all , and I could understand it more clearly
Thank you very much for this reallllly helped a lot 😍😍😍😍
Thank u mam
This was very useful for me to do my practical exams
A need to made this but the teacher asks us to give a good research question of this experiment. Someone help me?
Superb 😀👌👌
wow this is so easy and understanding :) thank you!
Well you only made one video and got 224 subscribers and 95k views
How nice could it be
Keep making videos , will you?
Mam you are great
Thanks
who is the ant starring in the time lapse video
great video. I wish you had some videos about identification/study of biomolecules.
Wait.....does this prove xylem conducts water in plants??pls tell I'm confused that does it show that phloem conducts food in plants or xylem conducts water in plants
All I am going to do is to screenshot them and use it for my practicals under my name 😂
By the way THANKYOU
Is there a group for this
until I read the comments I didn't realise you were in the video I was concentrating on your work n your words
these cheap people commenting -,- shit
thank you
Plz tell how to do exo osmosis
thank you. you dont know how much i neede this 😙
+Aishwarya ahire No problem! :D
Nice
please make more videos
why the water gathers in the hollowed part of the potato.???? is it due to osmosis
Yes, because osmosis refers to transfer of water from higher concentration area to lower concentration area through the semi permeable membrane. Potato too has a semi permeable membrane which plays a crucial role in osmosis.
thank you so much....helped a lot😀
Are u on Instagram?
Im subscribing
Hi Nanu shree Hari, šøñū miss
kalsudro yar nana comment nodidri reply madi plz 😁😁😁
Man those are some huge, round
Potatoes
And your are a otaku like me
well emmy, next time you make a video make sure that these idiots dont get to comment on your body parts. btw, the video was very helpful. thanks.
I mean, I can't really control the size of my breasts can I.
haha no but you can at least help them from being shown in videos like that
Emmy I think there fine as wine
really they are cool i m also saying the same thing
try it with coloured water instead of using pins
cool video by the way!
+ANIKET FERROUS Well, now that I'm not in the class, I probably won't but that isn't a terrible idea! :D
👍
Huge ...Round
Hey Emmy, just wanted to ask that why did the inner and outer level of the tap water potato go down and this didn't happen with the sugar water potato? In school, we tried the same experiment with tap water potato and the water level didn't go down at all. Instead the inner level of water rose up. Can you please use your highly intelligent brain to find out an answer to this question?
Thats because both the inner and outer levels for tap water was of same concentration. So, they just get absorbed by the semi-permeable membrane which is in this case potato.
In case of sugar water solution, the concentration of water outside the potato is higher than the concentration of water inside of the potato as its filled with sugar water. Since sugar molecule is anyway larger as well, it couldn't go into potato layers from inside of potato. Whereas from the outside, the water molecule could enter the inside of potato.
Hence the tap water potato level went down both inside and out. Whereas the sugar water potato solution level went down outside and went up inside.
m a potato
Labar labr bolba jyada
You have not to show out?????
.
Nice bra
I was supposed to do this but I’m lazy so UA-cam :)
Someone of my kind
