I. Two Basic Problems in the Christian Church
A. We have displaced the cross from the center
B. We have displaced Jesus from His position as head

III. Why Is There a War?
A. Lucifer set up a rival kingdom in the heavenlies
1. Lucifer reached up-and fell
2. Jesus stooped down-and was exalted (Phil. 2: 9; Luke 14: 11; 1 Pet. 5: 6)
B. Adamic race created
C. Satan tempts Adam, Adam falls
D. Satan has access to the presence of God-to accuse and make us guilty
E. Jesus poured out His blood as a guilt offering for our rebellion (2 Cor. 5: 21 [Is.
53: 10]
1. Our righteousness is as filthy rags (Is. 64: 6)
2. We are clothed with salvation and God’s righteousness (Is. 61: 10)
F. Guilt vs. conviction of sin
1. Conviction is from the Holy Spirit-brings repentance
2. Guilt is from Satan, the accuser of the brethren-only remedy is the robe of
righteousness
3. Romans 8: 1-No condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus
IV. Why Do We Need the Cross?
A. Consider the work of Jesus, a perfect work-perfect in every respect, perfect in
every aspect
B. Contrast priests of Old Testament with Jesus the high priest of the New Testament
(Heb. 10: 11)
1. The priests of the Old Testament always stood, never sat down-task never
finished
2. Jesus-after one sacrifice-sat down at the right hand of the Father-it is
finished
3. For those who are being sanctified (1 Thess. 5: 23)
4. Jesus sanctified by the Father (John 10: 36; 17: 19)
But He also sanctified (set apart) Himself
C. The Christian life is the transition from the legal to the experiential (John 1: 12)

7:00 - obedience to christ in the small things.
Obedience in small things as well as in great things, for small things are as great as great things! We must obey the Holy Spirit even when it seems unconventional to us! The church of Jesus Christ has lost sight of the cross. The only source of every blessing and every mercy of God is the cross! As the Body of Christ, two things has been displaced...the cross as the center of our lives and we have displaced Jesus as the Head of the Body of Christ!
Intercession leads to spiritual warfare. We cannot be successful in intercession until we learn the principles of spiritual warfare!
Why is there a war? Because we have an adversary by the name of Satan, who wars against God, His purposes and His people! Satan has a hatred against God's creation and I am referring to the the human race.
