Absolutely amazing! I followed the main exercise for a bit, which really loosened up my fingers. I then continued running back and forth with this A minor scale, and I was able to play it a lot faster and cleaner than I ever have before!
    Thanks Claus!

Ok. I found this video very effective in my speed building. Thanks greatly for the exercise. I have viewed many videos on alternate picking but this one has been THE ONE that has given me the motivation to practice. As you said I have tried for a while and this is your time. Thx greatly. You now have an avid viewer.

Excellent video, it's these insights that can help people break through plateaus! People put so much focus on just the movements instead of breaking down what is actually going on. It took me a while to figure this out (too long ha)

Hi Claus! I love your lessons! You ARE the real deal! I have been doing this sporadically without even realizing it~. Emphasizing different notes when I am playing! This exercise gives you a structure on which to base your picking, getting it right every time! Thanks! I really need to do this more!

I don't give praise out at the drop of a hat but... this dude is teaching some of the finest of fine points for truly advanced players. I know it kinda sucks to have to hear it broken down into such a rudimentary brain/hand/muscle memory fashion but it's dead on right. And don't be afraid to check out his wiz shred web site, there are tons of free useful lessons. Never once did I hear him say check out my paid-X, no pop ups either and there is quite a fair amount of content there. TY sir!

wow... again always a pleasure. after practicing with your lessons I fly on the grey board and really amaze myself. my problem is translating this information on the fly. But I am working on it. what would be nice is to hear a song and use these techniques applied. maybe in a fast metal array of riffs. blending the harmonic minor with the gippsy scale or a major flat key. descending 2-5-1 .Thanks again

I've done this before, but never really appreciated how important it is till now; think in groups of notes per click focusing on stressing the 1st beat and the other 3 notes (I like to think in groups of 16ths) will be played on the brain's autopilot.

Dear Sir .......So what im doing with the guitar is alternate picking on the G-string (12-10-9) just like shown in the video. This is what happens when i increase my speed,........when i strike the 12th note and then remove my pinky so as the 10th note is struck, the striking happens just before i remove my pinky completely hence the 10th note sounds muted. Now does this have anything to do with the distance btw the fret and the strings?........by the way im trying this on an acoustic. Acoustic soloing is what im desperate for. Any thoughts about my doubt? I've seen like 30-40 videos of yours as your way of teaching seems very appealing. Thank you so much sir. Lots of love from India!

Great lesson. Question: When I palm mute ala Al Di Meola, it makes it much harder to pick fast because of the added resistance. I have more freedom when my right hang isn't touching the strings. When you play fast, is your right palm contacting the strings?
