Loved it, thanks Henry! Sometimes I put a piece or two of masking tape over that primer channel on the Quantum air box and that along with the gasket is enough to seal it. The old style primers are a PITA for sure!
Henry. Discovered your channel 2 weeks ago. I had an old 4 HP Tecumseh craftsman with self propelled and it began to really leak oil. I also wasn’t liking the power output. I acquired FREE! Off the curb a 6.5hp Eager 1 tecumseh craftsman. Deck was rusty and someone jimmy rigged a switch instead of the brake but i engine swapped it onto my old 4hp deck. That was work because they were multiple generations apart and it was my first motor swap. Put a new carb kit on it, oil change etc and it runs nice! A bit more umphhh too. Watching your channel helps gather tips and the confidence to execute. Stay dirty.
On the Quantum engine backer plate, put 2 quarter sized washers and tighten down well. This forces that gasket to seal tightly against the carb. Works like a charm. I've done this to 3 Quantum primer engines so far with success.
Good job there, I have to do something opposite. Convert a old Choke carb (discontinued) to a primer style. I had all the parts to make it work and it did. On a Briggs 5HP
After all you did on the crapsman black mower, check the head bolts are tight, and check the plastic tube intake bolts, other then that, check the compression, most likely needs a valve job.
Both Donyboy, and I, said if you have to, you can soak the gasket on the briggs in warm water, to get them to seal, or double up the gasket to get them to seal.
Hi Henry, couple more of them portable outdoor sheds you can sell Kettle Corn.

Good tip
They were headscratchers indeed bro glad they were back up and running 👍
I had a. Bolens that I put new oblong gasket. The red one and put a tad longer self tapping screws in...sealed the vacuum leak it was having
Good catch on the red mower bro.

I've done that as well. Just need the more modern gas tank. Works great.
@@rods.3245 yep but I did make the gas tank work in my case . I had to modify the air box some to cut off some of the plastic. Cheers
Grate video
Sometimes you can double up on the gaskets and it works then.
Arches garage use RTV...does work most times

Henry, would the drive cover from a Poulan Pro Fit? If So I have one of those.
I got one from another subscriber bro, all good. Thanks
@@MowersNBlowers Kool Henry. Will look for finished video soon.
I had that same exact craftsman key start lawn mower and it did not have a primer it was an auto choke
I just use a piece of painters tape along the primer channel, then any gasket will work and prime
Agreed! I have had more success with this method (only difference, I use two layers of tape) than with the double gasket method.
I’ll try that
That’s exactly what I do too lol!
