Totally agree. It's a masterpiece from start to finish. I'm sorry she had such a battle with the record company. I would love for her to have continued creating. So disappointing.
When Atlantic Records merged with AOL Time Warner, they then severed ties with Modern Records, which at the ties was Poe's label, therefore dropping her almost literally in the middle of a rising career. Then the label sold off her artist interest rights to an oil executive who kept her tied up in court and for ten years she could not use the artist name of Poe.
NO SHIT? IS THIS WHAT HAPPENED THIS ARTIST? THAT'S SOME FU...'D UP SHIT. PHENOMENAL TALENT. SHAME THAT THEY DERAILED THIS ARTIST BEFORE SHE HAD A CHANCE TO SOAR.
All these years later and I don’t think anything’s topped the brilliance of “one more look at the ghost before I’m gonna make it leave,” that last verse hits so damn hard
I have always been a fan of Poe. Every once in awhile I check online for updates and there is literally nothing! What is she doing? Where is she?? She is horribly missed in the music scene right now. We need her talent, her angelic gorgeous voice and presence now!!!!!! :(
Poe's story is a singer songwriters biggest nightmare. Not sure if you're aware but her label basically ruined her career for a contract violation with the Haunted album. From what i remember she tried to release material without their consent and they wouldnt let her out of her contract to record with another label nor let her record new music with them. Her music and voice is incredible and timeless.
POE RULES!!! What a shame that this disc never got a push from the label. Great from end to end. I put it in the CD player in my car in 2001 and it's been in ever since. Saw her in 2002 at a small club...phenomenal show
Haunted truly is a phenomenal album. and the fact that she produced it truly shows what a great artist and writer she is. but doing these songs live must be hard. there were a lot of harmonies and tracks in every song on that album. still amazing though!
My little house band recorded this..... one of the coolest things ive ever done. The lyrics to this song are fucking incredible... ‘see a perfect forest through so many splintered trees’ i dont know whether to chill or to head bang.....
Poe is one person - not a "them" - and she has been on a very long hiatus. She had issues with her label and no one really knows what her intentions are in terms of projects in the future. We all basically just have to wait and see.
I love this song, I love the whole album. Many years ago a guitar played in one of my bands introduced me to her and I still listen to this album on a regular basis. Wish she had put out more music. The drummers on the album tear it up, as well as the other musicians. Well done.
Haunted is one of my favorite albums of all time. Sometimes I get sad when I watch things like this because of what some jerk did to her. She has so much talent I wish she would record again. Wouldn't care if she changed the name even
Hello? Are you there? Thank you for uploading this! Injust read your memo.. screw those record label peeps! 2019 and we are still here loving POE! Its POEever! 🖤⭐️🤘🏻😎 PS i wish you still have all the rare TV and live videos and will upload them! 😎
Masterpiece! Great production! I once took the overnight train from Albany to Chicago and listened to this album on repeat all night while in-and-out of sleep; it was fucking wild (pun intended)!
My favorite artist! It still pisses me off to no end that she was screwed so badly right when she was getting really big!!! She could've been a monster in the industry. And the idiot executives didn't even realize how much money they could've made from her success! Morons!
It's strange. I've loved this album dearly for a decade and a half, and never thought to look up a single live song before today. Not suprised that she's good live.
@@OurHereafter isn't it weird? i, too, had discovered Haunted long before even knowing House of Leaves existed, my favorite record then and [HoL] now being my favorite book. uncanny how i was somehow bound to this book ever since i was nine
April D check Conjure One’s extraordinary ways album too! She has 3 tracks there and 1 of the tracks she used “Jane” as her name.. good good good tracks!! On my spotify loop!
Discovered this in Alan Wake Remaster. Holy shit just wow, what a great track AND album. And this was released in 2000?? Waaaay ahead of it’s time. But, does anyone know what happened to the singer? Is she still making music? Is she alive even?
Does anyone know what's going on with her now? Is she ever going to put out another album? I know she was in record company hell for years. I hope she makes some new stuff-- she's great.
Not a bad live performance, although as stated a better studio artist. Doesn't change the fact that I really like her, especially the 2nd album, and sad that very few people seem to know of her......
does anyone know if poe ever released a music video for this song? i swear i remember seeing it when the album came out, but i've had no luck finding it to exist.
A few points: 1) One of the most underrated artists of the last 15 years. 2) The album is amazing, but from this performance, it seems she wasn't very good live, IMO. 3) Wiki says she was involved in some kind of contract dispute with her old label, and may or may not come back with a new release. I for one would welcome it. 4) Lady Gaga called. She wants her top back!
Dan Avant i agree! I think she’s unhappy or something on this vid. Its like not the POE band peeps, you know what i mean? And she’s stiffed here unlike all her tour vids shes so vibrant and alive!
Craig wasn't so good either. Well, unless the frat boy schtick is your thing. The cream always rises to the top (Colbert) and the chaffe (Schmilborne) floats away in the wind. I bet he couldn't tell you one thing about Poe, other than that she was hot.
A lot of people keep talking about Alan Wake and that's nice you discovered this song from that game but this song was featured on the terrible sequel to Blair Witch.
Who IS this Alan Wake ?? I've listened to this song since the early 90's... I need to go look up who he is....no clue. Here because of Poe. Never saw this live version till now.
Sorry dude, but When i watch Kilborn, I'm not there to be "rocked out." A subdued more spritual presentaion of the song is more appropriate for the venue...
This album is amazing, I did hear she may return to music soon and had a song released for a video game recently, however; that song absolutely sucked large. So who knows. But Haunted is an amazing album.
every second of that album is fantastic....
Totally agree. It's a masterpiece from start to finish. I'm sorry she had such a battle with the record company. I would love for her to have continued creating. So disappointing.
It's fantastic
yep, and every sound on every track contributes to each song. The layering is intricate and there's not a superfluous note. It's a maze, amazing.
Absolutely
“Come here. I’ve got the pieces here. Time to gather up the splinters and build a casket for my tears”
WOW! What a verse.

I had goosebumps when this music played in the game.
I know right!!!! Everytime I listen to this, it still takes me back to that scene from Alan Wake and **chills** 🔥❤️
Wake up Alan
And they got it in the remastered game. Love it.
@@ljessecusterl Thats cool, because I remember that they had to stop selling the game due to some musics.
I'm glad they kept it.

Here in 2021 and still love Poe like she just came out.
