Really enjoyed your breakdown on these speakers. Especially how they need to be further away from the wall to bring out the the nuances of the soundstage.😉👍🏽

I attended the Keith Jarrett concert that night and I can tell you that the recording on CD is just as beautiful as the live performance but in a different way. Reproduced music can be better than "being there" or vice versa depending on the individual artist and the recording, mixing and mastering techniques. These seem to be beautifully designed and crafted speakers and I can't wait to hear them up close and personal.

The listening experience of a live performance can vary quite a bit depending on the listening position of each person in the audience. A well recorded performance can indeed many times sound as good or better than being in the audience when performed live, because presumably the microphones have the best seat in the house.

To me a live show is all about the atmosphere of being there.
Listening to recorded music at home is all about the music.

I had to watch this review at 1.5X speed and suggest anyone planning to do so do the same. My aural memory is not great but everything said in this review rings true to me. I spent 30 minutes with these and about an hour with the M3 at AXPONA this year. The X3 has the same flavor or 'house sound' as the top end of the Borresen line, so much so that paying $250K more for the the M3 became even more incomprehensible to someone of my means than paying that much for a speaker in the first place. The only thing I severely dislike about the speaker is the carbon details on the cabinet and the woofers. I viscerally dislike the 'carbon fiber' aesthetic on almost everything, but especially elements designed to exist in a living space.

      2x here
Also, spectral balance was way off, imo.
Lapel mic coulda been higher up and on the lapel,
... eliciting needed warmtg and level via proximity effect, and less room by default.
      Yeah, that's splitting hairs.
It's odd ... we've got everything at our fingertips, anytime we want it ... and we want more!

I LOVE Michael's speakers, some of the best at the price for certain, and perhaps at any price, depending what electronics and room you have to work with. JK needs to either INCREASE his meds or DECREASE his dosage. Please provide music samples as well; we understand the limits of your equipment, rooms, etc. STILL MUCH BETTER than no music sample. Some modest channels do it quite well. Maybe try again, on the same speakers. :)

correction. 9,999.00-pound sterling = $12,298, but whos counting, right. for that much $ theres many great options, if you have a large room. those tiny 4'' speakers might not be enough. these towers would be great in a midsized room or smaller
