Your fantastic, I’m 57 and years of saving finally bought a piano, your one amazing teacher, I so wish I had a musical family, watch you constantly, a massive thankyou
Thanks for the videos, they help me a ton. I just can't seem to get the timing right for this song, I'm used to the built in metronome on my digital piano that has a strong beat but I had to turn the strong beat off for this song since it alternates between 2/4 and 4/4. I just have a question, why does the dotted quarter note seem longer than the half note on the 2nd measures?
Oop. I was talking about a dotted half note. You are correct in your counting. I don't know why the dotted quarter note seems longer than the half note unless you are just holding it too long. But if your counting is correct, you should be OK.
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but when you go up an octave the second time around--I don't see where the music indicates to do that. What am I missing?
The note is above the top staff at the beginning of the p9iece. It says 2nd time both hands 8va. This means to go up an octave. I think I talk about this in the lesson.

You are welcome. A dotted quarter note gets 3 counts and the half note only gets 2 counts.
@@LetsPlayPianoMethods Thanks for the reply, I thought the dotted quarter note only gets 1 1/2 counts, and then half note gets 2, am I mistaken?

@@LetsPlayPianoMethods Thanks, and thanks for making these videos. Very helpful! Do you have a series for the second book?
Regarding the repositioning of the hands to play again, why can't you just use your sustain pedal while you change your hands?
Sometimes you have to, but I would not use it unless I really had to.
