We don't have birding like this on the Pacific side of Heredia. Thanks for posting the names of the birds. We can use the guidebook to get the Spanish names. Great video.
Such colorful birds! Wish I get a chance to visit Costa Rica! I am a bird enthusiast and love to explore birds of different regions. Thank you for sharing! Subscribed!
It's a birder's paradise. So many microclimates here which host different species. A hundred meters in altitude, or a kilometer to the left or right and you see a whole different set of birds. Truly amazing!
@@CostaRicaBirdCam nice! Hope to experience it sometime! Also, please take some time to visit my channel as well. I too post bird videos. Your subscription would be appreciated! 😊
1:17 It's a female Summer Tanager. Note the overall mustard-ish yellow plumage and pale swollen bill. You can hear the tanager calling during the Green Ibis segment (a dry pik-a-tuk). Scarlet-rumped is now Passerini's Tanager. The species on the Pacific slope is Cherrie's Tanager.
Thanks, @Spindalis79. I heard the Passerini's and Cherie's were now lumped together under "Scarlet-Rumped". Things are constantly changing. In the five years we've been in CR, the Chestnut-mandible Toucan became the Black-mandible Toucan, then the Yellow-throated Toucan - which makes no sense to me because the more common Keel-billed Toucan also has a yellow throat. It's a moving target. This old man can't keep up.
Such a lovely, peaceful place to let go of stress.
Hi Dianne, thanks for watching! More to come!
Spectacular birds in that country. So colorful. Love the different calls.
Glad you enjoyed it, Debbie. Nice to see you again!

Glad to help, Silvia. It may be your elevation. Many of the smaller birds seem to like the lower elevations, at least here in Nuevo Arenal.
