  • Something a little different featuring a number of birds at the same location instead of just a single species. These clips were all filmed on January 17, 2023 at Arenal Observatory Lodge in Costa Rica.
    The bird species shown in order are:
    Great Currasow (IUCN Vulnerable species)
    Montezuma Oropendola
    Crested Guan
    Black-crested Coquette
    Clay-colored Thrush (national bird of Costa Rica)
    Scarlet-rumped Tanager
    Emerald Tanager
    Green Honeycreeper
    Black-cheeked Woodpecker
    Yellow-throated Toucan
    Spotted Woodcreeper
    Bronze-tailed Plumeteer
    Rufous-tailed Jacamar
    Tennessee Warbler
    Great Kiskadee
    Variable Seedeater
    Buff-Rumped Warbler
    Collared Aracari (Another type of Toucan)
    White-nosed Coati (Not a bird)

    Nice video 👍 where did you stay ? Do you need to join the day tour to capture the beautiful wildlife. Thanks for sharing.

      I stayed in the observatory lodge directly which was very nice, though there are many places in the town of Arenal itself where you could reach the ledge from easily.
      You don’t have to hire a guide (day pass is $25 USD for the grounds), I did one day with a guide a one day without. Guide is worth it, especially if you aren’t sure what you’re seeing. Though all of these clips are from the day without a guide.
