In league I think he's finally in a good spot, but in runeterra I feel like crescendum and calibrum should be 2 mana. Otherwise he's finally okay (especially considering the veiled temple nerf)
@@FireSonic102 I honestly think that after the starshapping nerf (wich was an auto 3 off in every aphelios deck) and the Veiled temple nerf, there is no excuse for his guns to still be 3 mana. The problem with aphelios was never the character it was Targon was super ovetunned and the other regions kinda sucked, but now the mountain got nerfed and every other region has been powercrept. Also, he has one of the coolest play patterns in the game and i just wanna make an Akshan Aphelios deck :(

I personally would like a buff to Aphelios's level up condition, maybe reduce it from 4 to 3 and see how it plays out in the meta, maybe go down all the way to 2 if it doesn't work. Aphelios has a really cool design in lor and totally deserves to be at least consistently in tier 3 or 2 decks.

I disagree on his statement about aggro. LoR is probably the game with the healthiest and most interesting aggro decks scout, discard, nightfall, lurk and even azirealia as hated as it may be need some interesting decision making to win. Great card design by the devs.
Nah, it's still dogshit. All in elusives, burn, tf/fizz, thresh/nasus, azir/irelia were(the latter still kind of is) both incredibly unfun to play against (as most of the time the only clear win condition was them not drawing well) and severely limiting to the viability of a lot of slower decks. Scouts played for board control more and was too slow to be aggro imo. The only healthy aggro decks were spiders, discard, fearsomes, zoe nightfall, and this version of pirate aggro imo, because they have counterplay and even slower(not anti-aggro) decks can compete and not instalose. Also, idk what decks you usually play if you find azir/irelia hard. It's literally super highroll combo aggro where if you draw your best cards early you just ignore your opponent, play them and instawin against most decks while having insane protection with flawless duet/nopefiy/deny/homecoming and good removal with defiant dance. That deck was the worst thing to happen with this game.

But pirate aggro is braindead same as spiders, they play alot of low cost units and hope to finish with burn. Yes pre nerf azirelia was busted. Post nerf Azireali while still being unfun to play against needs careful planning what you are going to play how much spell mana you need to bank , building Bord or keeping mana for bigger threats etc. The skill ceiling is high on these aggro decks where as the skill ceiling for pirate agro and spiders is quite low. Riot is careful when releasing aggro decks/cards.
As time goes on and there’s more answers to aggro then yeah it’s definitely healthy, but it most certainly didn’t start this way when the game first began… and there’s still a decent way to go before it’s truly at the spot it should be, especially with some of the newest aggro decks from this set leaving a lot to be desired, but it’ll get there eventually.

I'm a Shadow Isles main and I lose to that deck more often than I realize.
It’s a good deck but boy can it brick often, and it’s got some pretty rough match ups if they can block elusives.

I think that if they nerfed the level up requirement from 4 to 3 like J4, he could be in a decent spot.
