    Honestly it disgusts me that murder of a police officer is an automatic whole life order when so many other murderers are able to apply for and in some cases receive parole, what makes them so special when a monster like Colin Pitchfork can get out? Not that I think all murderers are beyond redemption, rehabilitation and release should always be a consideration for murderers were other criminal behaviour was the driving force, like robbers or gang activity but that should never be the case with sadistic and sex murderers who cannot be safely rehabilitated.
    If attempting to protect important public service personnel with deterrence is the goal then why isn't this in place for all on duty paramedics, firefighters and NHS staff as well?

    Never in my time getting locked up in the 80's/90's was i afforded the luxury of not being searched upon arrest or the privilege of a cell visit from a sergeant and his minions. This shooting makes no sense, it's like it was allowed.

    I wonder what will the judge will say in their remarks when they sentence Piran Ditta Khan if he is found guilty because he done a similar thing back in 2005 but at the time anyone who murdered a police officer would of got a minimum 30 year tariff before being eligible for parole so I wonder if they will use the current guidelines of a whole life order as a reference but then reduce it to a minimum term order which would normally be handed down had he been convicted before 2015.

    • @AliBryson
      @AliBryson 6 місяців тому

      They have to use the guidelines at the time and the test for life without parole at that applied the time of the offence

    Firstly, R.I.P. to the policeman that lost his life. And condolences to his family. No matter how he died or if he was a copper... always a tragedy when someone innocent gets killed.
    I wonder who will be held accountable for this crock of shite then? Fucking MET police living up to their reputation. You're lucky to get a bit of burn in a police station these days, yet he got stopped and searched (which was probably a bs stop &search) found to have bullets on his person! And then because he's double jointed manages to shoot and kill a policeman in a cell ... come on... Some serious questions need to be asked here!
    And I'm sorry Ricky, I don't agree this mug set out to murder a policeman on the night in question. Yes he was carrying a loaded firearm, but if I lived in London, I'd want a bloody machine gun for protection these days! How do you know what he was thinking in that cell. I reckon he was panicking like fuck because he has a loaded firearm in his possession in a police station. I think he might have been trying move it around his person in the hope he could further conceal it from any other searches. But guess as usual, we will never know the true truth of the matter. Especially if he cabbaged himself in the scuffle.
    Not saying I'm right btw! Lots of speculation.
