@stephenbyrne2170 I'm not an expert by any means but I think it's because they're not a single "thing" they're more like a coalescence of feelings, faith and ideas... a great example would be the unchecked hedonism and pride of the Aeldari birthing Slaanesh into the warp. So if they're a being of energy, ideas, and faith they're gonna need a corporeal body in the materium to channel their energies from the warp to realspace. Not to mention that leaving the warp would make them absent from "The Great Game" which would leave their domain vulnerable to the other gods.
