Getting even more mysterious: carbon dating of the bones has shown that the skeletons belong to multiple groups with their time of death up to 1.000 years apart. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roopkund

Extraordinary feat by mountain bikers.We tried to reach Roopkund in June 2000 but had to abort our trek at Bhrigu Basa because of heavy hail strom.Which incidenntly was the cause of so many people perished around the lake, almost a millinium ago as per researchers.

Hey Hans,
Thanks for showing this and kudos on completing this journey, on bike!
I had a slight grievance watching your team at Roopkund, on their bikes. Though its all nature which is freely accessible, this site, the Roopkund Lake has major importance in Hindu mythology.
It would have been much more respectful had your team ditched their bikes and went exploring on foot.
All the best for your future expeditions and I hope you keep this point in mind when visiting someplace in India.
