A few days ago I saw the D7 was going for approximately $280 on AliExpress. But the current conversion rate makes the cost equivalent in local currency more or less equal to the cost before the local currency went haywire. 😂😂. What a quandary.

Exactly what am using for almost a year now. It really packs a punch for what is worth. The free lifetime updates and bidirectional functionality is what sold me on this small but mighty scanner.
You saw the light early😀 I'm also pleasantly surprised that it also gets updates. Seen some for this month. A lot of lifetime tools never get updated.

@@DIYAutoworksNG no, because that $20 piece of junk was still better than the $100 acton i'd bought a couple of years prior. caught the torque pro app on sale for a dollar one year, and the junky scanner just got that much better

The car is running fine recently but my fuel economy is no good and this is time to actually take that into consideration cos fuel cost no be beans again.
The fuel economy is supposed to be 20mpg average but I'm getting 8.8mpg which is way far from original.
Initially I was getting around 14mpg but did not bother too much as fuel was still cheap but I had an exhaust leak on bank 2 which I went to fix (it was discovered that second catalytic converter had been stolen) but now fuel economy is worse but the car runs very smooth and fine even with AC on.
Any advice??
@OgunjobiDavid Fuel economy troubleshooting... Tire pressures, binding brakes (check for differential heat on the tires after a drive), then the tune ups: clean MAF/MAP, replace engine air filter, spark plugs (if due & ensure to use the recommended), throttle body cleaning + EGR (if equipped). Then a really effective fuel system cleaner with WOT driving to clean the combustion chamber/injectors.
The other thing before all this is how much traffic do you drive in? Lastly, I hope your thermostat is still in place? I assume you don't have any emission-related codes?

I have done most of these. I have a tire pressure kit and always make sure it is ok. I have cleaned throttle body, MAF, replaced EGR a while back. No brake binding as heat is similar across 4 tires. I have done a bit of serious driving to try and clean the intake manifold and used an injector cleaner the last fill up.
I have a P0430 code which I later discovered the bank 2 has been stolen which causes the exhaust leak initially. I disconnected all 4 O2 sensors so the system might use default values for calculating the fuel ratio but same thing.
There is a bit of traffic but I've even observed during high way driving and best I've gotten is 10mpg which rapidly drops to around the 8.6-8.8 once I enter traffic again. With or without AC, the consumption did not change.
Lastly, my thermostat is still fine and good but there was a time I had failure on the fan module as it was failing too frequently (replaced it thrice) hence had to direct the fan but thermostat is still good as my temperature still gets to the optimal though the fan is always working full blast.
I really need to get to the root cause of the bad mileage and restore it close enough to the original fuel economy.
For the P0430 code, I'm looking to see if I can buy another cat but not too certain of the quality and scared of it not totally blocking the exhaust channel completely
