The future of Taiwanese pop music｜Taiwan News

To cultivate domestic music talents and internationalize Taiwanese pop music, The Ministry of Culture, Taiwan Creative Content Agency, Taipei, and Kaohsiung Pop Music Centers jointly organized a press event. They shared their strategies to help Taiwanese pop music go global. FTV reporter Stephany Yang has the details.
Taiwan’s pop music originated from Taiwanese opera in the 1930s. To help the Taiwanese pop music industry reach new heights, The Ministry of Culture, the Institute of Cultural Affairs, Taipei, and Kaohsiung Music Centers held a press conference to announce their plans to collaborate and elevate Taiwanese pop music.

How did pop music manage to accompany us through a period that is close to a hundred years? Indeed, these pop music is not just about singing, it records the evolution and sound of the times.
In addition to The Taipei Music Center and the Kaohsiung Music Center serving as a training platform for music creators, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency plans to provide investment funds, support and give local talent opportunities to perform overseas, and partake in streaming platform marketing.

On the one hand, we plan to go back in history to find pop Chinese and pop Taiwanese music. For example, Kaohsiung Music Center wants to hold a Sapphire concert, or even rediscover the 1930s. We are finding some context of music from history.
The Ministry of Culture, Taiwan Creative Content Agency, Taipei, and Kaohsiung Pop Music Centers hope to work together to help Taiwanese pop music shine in Taiwan and abroad.
