  • The Food Taipei trade show is now in its third day, with more than 1,600 exhibitors showcasing products at 4,500 booths. On display are cutting-edge smart systems for food processing and packaging. There’s also seafood from Japan’s Tottori Prefecture, brought by a vendor that’s seeking Taiwan distributors. Another exhibitor hopes to sell flavored peanuts to the Southeast Asian market.

    As far as peanut varieties go, Taiwanese peanuts are extremely fragrant, rich in fats, and just the right amount of sweet. Compared to Southeast Asian peanuts, Taiwanese peanuts are far superior in both texture and taste.

    Because of the labor shortage, we adopted an automated optical inspection system. It performs some of the tasks previously done manually, improving output by three to five times.

    Here at Food Taipei, exhibitors are showcasing smart systems like this machine. Production capacity, output, and times are all clear at a glance.
    On the third day of the expo, Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim and lawmaker Chiu Yi-ying stopped by to support the agriculture industry. The Food Taipei trade show runs until Saturday at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
