Contrast: Art Tips

Using contrast can improve your drawings. Constructed for beginners to help gain better understating of how contrast effects drawings. Contrast can be used in so many ways. It represents itself in Value, Color, Texture, and Scale. As you learn to see these concepts and manipulate them, your work will really take off. Utilizing these drawing tips and conceptual concepts will help your work evolve.

01:21 In art, "medium" refers to the substance the artist uses to create a piece of artwork.
The large use of the word medium is used to describe a specific type of art. For instance, Charcoal is a medium, Watercolor is a medium, painting is a medium, printmaking is a medium, and oil is a medium. Essentially, every category of artwork is its own medium.
The plural of medium in this sense is media.
04:29 Desaturation:
Saturation makes colors more vivid (less black or white added). Desaturation makes colors more muted (more black or white added).
