I'm happy it exists for the pure fact that it proves SOME positive exposure to the witchy world. It does go off the rails from time to time, but it's pretty harmless and has a good ending. Being that there's not a wealth of documentaries about witchcraft I give it a pass.
There are several witchy docs that came out the same year, the problem is, if we dont look for them, we never see them because they dont advertise them. Dead Hot got a little attention because of Vanessa Hudgens. It does portray real witchcraft in a positive light but, it still had too much "goofiness" I think, for people that aren't familiar with witches and witchcraft to take it seriously.
Came here bc i has to see if anyone reviewed that documentary. It was as if someone did a mockumentary to parody GenZ. That's the feeling I had. I couldn't stand how the mirrored each other's behavior and clearly played to the camera. I felt like i was watching intermittent commercials for alt/goth clothing stores as well. I wonder if a brand in particular sponsored some if this? Ill havd to investigate that one!
Dead Hot is a weird name for the documentary. It sounds not so interesting. Thank you for your recommendations!!!! The title Dead Hot seems a bit.....offensive?? Not necessarily derogatory or demeaning...but close??? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ I have been meaning to build my raised garden bed for my Sunflower seeds.
Your review seems like the producers just didn’t know how to frame the documentary. They should have billed it as ghost hunting their spirituality was irrelevant
