- I knew I had wanted to jam on a tune with Johnny but I hadn't came across which one. I knew he was a huge Cozy Powell fan and we both love Schenker so I proposed the instrumental MSG tune "Into the Arena". He had done something similar to that tune previously with his brother Mike and suggested the banger track "Assault Attack", off a record featuring vocalist Graham Bonnet and a friend of John's, Ted Mckenna (who had tragically passed away a few years back). He then (kinda) joked about asking Graham to sing on it then reached out to him and made it happen! Marta nailed the keys and vocal harmonies and our good friend and incredible bassist Joey Vera from the legendary Armored Saint not only laid down the bass tracks, but also provided the mix for this. Mike and I both played our Schenker tribute guitars Originally aired for Metal Injections "Slay at Home" fest and video edit by Frank Godla. Thanks to Conrad for getting us Graham's vocal/vid, and to Joey Vera for the mix!

Fucking great, what a legend Graham is, one of the greats, totally unique. That album, Assault Attack, it's magical, nothing else like it. The warm production, Graham's subtle but effective harmony vocals, brilliant band, and Schenker's solos are on another level, absolutely incredible. Graham does a gallant job even attempting this at his age. And this band here have just done the song justice, great job by all of them.
Assault Attack is regarded as one of Schenker's finest pieces of work. Everything and everyone on that record is outstanding. Love that album. Great cover guys, thanks. I absolute love seeing and hearing Graham rock out. I thought Ted did an incredible job with the Michael Schenker Fest.

Well done! Still remember the day I bought "Assault Attack" back in the early '80s, and this performance does that original studio version justice. Whether with Alcatrazz, MSG or solo, here's hoping touring opens up next year for Graham to perform this stateside once again!

Still hearing stuff like this in 2020...WOW ..! A resurgence of Rock music perhaps ? There are no digital release of this Assault Attack album ..AND this is what made me listen to Micheal Schenker ..(*----*)..
