Today I'm introducing my 2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Often overshadowed by the superior monster that is the Terminator Cobra, the Mach 1 is a strong platform that bridges the extreme performance gap between the GT and the Cobra in the New Edge Era.

I have a heavily modded mach 1 and i love it. Its a great troll car because its not a cobra. Fully forged bottom end, precision 7675 turbo, big fuel kit and a standalone ECU. Shits nuts it pisses off a lot of newer cars
Maybe one day I'll be there! I'd love to turn mine into a monster. I'm always wanting to buy a dirt track car too so yeah, we share expensive hobbies lol
Absolutely LOVE my 04 mach, will never sell it. Coilovers and a borla catback on mine. This generation just feels so much smaller than the S197s and S550s and maintains just enough old school "rawness".

@@Hitchagood1 so I have a 2001 mustang gt currently, could I use my car as a down payment, also I’ve never financed a car before because I’m only 17 but could my parents technically do it and then I just give them money for the payments, sorry for many questions it’s just like my absolute favorite car so I really want my hands on one
@@Hitchagood1 if I find one at a dealership why wouldn’t it be possible to use my car as a trade in and therefore lower the cost of the Mach 1
Hey sorry, just saw your comment. You trade your car in to a dealership and they're gonna ream you out on it's value. You'll make thousands more if you sell it yourself. The dealer is going to give you bottom dollar on a trade in because they're gonna turn around and sell it for a profit. Might as well just sell it for the same price they would and keep the money they would have made on it.
I got an 03 all black mach 1 on air lift suspension and I love it
I have 2003 oxford white mach 1. It's totally stock other than Flowmaster 40s. My '99 GT was lowered, had CAI, exhaust, and 4.10 gears pulled just as hard as the Mach. Both sound awesome. The mach handles better though. It's only got 16,000 miles on it though so i don't plan on modifying it. I may buy a second one with higher miles to do a full bolt-on build with.
You might think it pulls as hard as your mach because it had 4.10 gear vs mach stock 3.55 but I'd gaurantee equal drivers the mach is def the faster car out of those based on what you say your gt had.

I got my all original mint condition bone stock Oxford white 03 Mach 1 with 181k miles for 7500$…it now has 200k miles and still running strong! I will one day build that car! Right now I am building my 96 cobra and two other project cars
Would you still daily it at 180K? Looking at a 04 blue Mach 1 clean title with 104K miles. Guy wants 10K. Has headers, wheels and suspension. Think it’s a good deal? I know these cars are fairly reliable for the most part just want a fun daily.
@@TheJMan1K I did daily it at 181k Mike’s that’s why It now has over 200k miles, but I haven’t dailyd it no more because it needs a clutch! The car has never gave me a single problem. 10k for 104k mile Mach 1 is actually a good price considering these are going for around 14-20k now in days
With everything you've done to it, you should probably take it and have it professionally tuned on 93 octane. It would probably get you another 15 rwhp.
@@Hitchagood1, white is sort of the rarest. In each year it's the rarest but because it was produced in both 03 and 04 there are actually fewer zinc yellow, screaming yellow, and competition because they were each only made for one year. Either way, you don't see a lot of white one. My favorites are competition orange and screaming yellow but I do love the contrast of the white and black.
people who say SRA cars dont handle the same as IRS cars are correct, they are different. However, I would argue with a well setup SRA car, it can easily compete/beat a IRS car.
Good to know! For now I haven't come close to it's limit so I'll focus on power for the next mod but maybe upgrade once we start putting some real ponies to the ground. Thanks for watching man!

I still remember my first time seeing the Mach 1 when they came out and Mustang is the only car I’ve ever wanted every since I was in the first grade and when I saw that I had to have one. It took me a long time but I finally got 04 Mach 1 a couple years ago and I love it. I also have a 94 GT but I like driving the Mach around because they just look sick

Can i assume the white shift knob was on it when you bought it? That would have been the first mod. Lol. I took mine into the shop and mechanic said the aluminum shift knob burnt his hand.
Nah it was stock. That was actually one of my first 2 "mods" lol I got that and a short antenna so I could more easily put a car cover on it. But this car is on ode to the 70s so a retro shifter was necessary!
I’ve never made a down payment on a car before!! I had 23 cars. BUT, Only one at a time! I’ve rolled equity in them, about $1,000, but all was trade value…. Playing with numbers. Had 4. GT Stangs, 4 Z28s, a RS Camaro… and a Jaguar XKR …. and a hypo modified Mercedes convertible. Others were Trans ams.. loved both pony cars.

great Car!! I have a 03 Azure Blue Mach1 same springs, I would recommend the fatter front sway bar with Poly bushings it compliments the springs and is awsome. I have Rovo's wheels and the thing handles like a 80K sports car! enjoy brother and keep in clean!
I'll take that into consideration! I did autocross it and the right front seemed to push when you're really ceanking on the wheel so I wonder if that would help it. Appreciate you dropping by
Thank you for your video, I am a proud owner of 12 Mustang's, 66 coupe to 2010 GT 500 Shelby, I do have a 03 Mach 1 same color 2nd owner bought it in 05 and will not sell it live this car, Mach 1's have several of there own trademarks, I have an off road X pipe with Brola stingers, no other mods, it has 21,000 original miles, there rare as only little over 7000 made, I paid 10,000 back then in 05 and love driving it !
They've gone way up in price now so hang on to it! As well as the rest of em! Keep the history alive

It's been a while and I was looking on like 6 different platforms lol I think it was facebook market place though. Older couple had it in Virginia. They could tell I was excited about it and at the time I could only do 13.5k, they listed for 15k but happily gave me a deal. It gets driven and shown off and modded now. Right now... I think* the prices are a bit inflated. They may drop back down. Just know you're gonna need a few thousand dollars down to finance it and probably a 4 year loan instead of 5 but if you got cash, no worries.

I don't plan on selling mine. . . hopefully nothing comes up. I love my car and trying to not be mindfull of how many miles I'm putting. Also have a small chunk saved for any potential major repairs should something come up.

Caught it right in the x pipe and ripped off an 02 sensor. Custom x pipe is really worth it!
Just snagged one 2003 Mach 1 azure blue 111,000 miles $6500.

with 410 gears will run door to door with new coyote mustang, just cut a little weight (remove spare) - run good fuel (1/4 tank) | Would never trade in the 04 Mach.
I thought about some gears but I really do enjoy just how fast it can go on the interstate with little to no effort. Wondered if going from my 3.55s to a 3.73 would even be worth it though
I love mine to. She is taking the winter off for a new engine build.
@@HitchagoodMotorsdon't go below 410 gears if you do a gear 373 is a waste if time. You can still pull 125+ mph out of 4th with a stock size 25.7 inch tire. I'd do 430 or 456 myself but if you want little more interstate go 410 Def don't go 373.
As for the solid axle can't handle that is a bunch of nonsense ppl spout that don't know wtf they're talking about. Only time irs makes a noticable difference is on big bumps during middle of a curve if the road is smooth differences are very minimal. People highly exaggerate this like you have to have irs to have good handling and solid axle cannot handle good like I said it's total nonsense. Look what the boss 302 did in 2012 with a solid it beat the m3 of the same year around a track but supposedly solid axles can't handle well according to all the internet experts lol

Flowmasters are the grandpa mufflers there robbing you out of power there chamber mufflers get straight tru mufflers like magnaflow or borla
In ever thought I'd have any car "too loud" but holy crap, Borla Ataks were straight up obnoxious lol I could pass a building 200 ft off the road and I'd hear it echo off the building and literally everyone thought you wanted to race them lol

No. Buy a 1996-1998 cobra with the 4v 4.6
The Mach 1 also has a 4v 4.6. The block and cams are better on the 96-98 but heads and intake are better on the mach and they make more power stock for stock and mod for mod. I love the 96-98s I own a 97 used to own another 97 and also a fbo Mach back in the day.

Haha no way, it's a throw back to the days of the muscle car. Almost went with fr500s but I love these
