If you put the jack to the rear of the sway bar channel and lift ONLY the front of the Spyder, the channel will be higher than the jack. This will allow you to achieve the needed 24”

Beth has always been a shade tree mechanic. Hats off!!!!
Awww thank you. 😊
You are astounding the way you jump in and tackle the various projects on the Ryker and now the Sypder.
Hey, thanks John!!!
Thank you so much for this! I followed it step by step and didn’t even need the directions in the box. Easy Peasy! Installed the Baja Ron sway bar and a Pedal Box. All I can say is you BETTER be holding on! This thing is a rocket ship now wow😮!
Here’s how I lifted my F3T…I have a Craftsman motorcycle jack. I had to put 2x4s down in front and drive up on them so I could get the jack under the frame as far front as I could. You do this so the back wheel stays in the ground. Then jack up a good bit and get the jack stands setup under the front arms. Lower the Spyder down onto the jack stands. Drop the jack down even farther then, so I could put 2 ft piece of 4x4 post on top of you jack arms. Now take it up as high as the jack will go and you should be a bit above you jack stand max to put them back under the arms at max height. Then lower her down on to the maxed out jack stands and get to work! This gave me the extra few inches I needed.
Awesome job! Thanks for the tips on how you lifted your Spyder!! Ride safe…hold on. 🫣
It's still pretty cold up here in Manitoba, Canada. When it does warm up some , I will order the Baja Ron Sway Bar and try to install it myself. I will watch your video as I do it. Thanks Ray
Right on! Stay warm!!!!
I can't help but think the time to remove that last torxs screw and the under panels would have been time well spent. Great video.i might do this when I upgrade shocks...while I'm down there... this video will be super helpful. 👍
Thank you so much! Ps I sell Elka shocks on my website: SpyderRydes.com when you’re ready.
Thank you Beth. It was great finally meeting you after watching many of your videos a few years before I purchased my F3-S last year. I will switch my sway bar out soon. Im the one you signed my sticker at Houston WHAP 2024 The challenge was getting the back off the sticker. LOL. Thank you for all that you do. Much love to you and family.
Thank you so much! It was a pleasure meeting you as well! Yes, the bushings are pre-adjusted. You don’t need to worry about that. When you’re ready, don’t forget to get them from my website: RykerRydes.com
Very professional install. You looked like you were enjoying yourself. A relative had an unfortunate accident working without safety glasses under his car when a screwdriver slipped. Kudos to Scott and Ken your production crew. Congrats on 11k subs.👏
Thanks so much John!!! I appreciate your support!
I’m getting my Baja Ron sway bar tomorrow (10/17)& hope to install it on Tuesday. This video is VERY helpful and should take the stress out of the install. Your explanations were great - as was the camera work - and will save time & money. Riding season is drawing to a close here in eastern Washington, so I hope to get ‘er done and test it out this week. Thank you so much for, IMO, the best description of the installation process on UA-cam. My next installation will be passenger armrests so I’ll be waiting with bated breath (whatever THAT is!) to see if you have a video on that. 👍🔧🏍
You are so funny!! I love your comments. Thank you sooo much.
After viewing your video and taking notes, today I switched out both of the standard sway bars on our Spyders to the Baja Ron bars. Piece of cake! Hubby helped with handing tools and helping with the bushing placement. It was such a joy to be able to do this! Subscribed to see what else you may come up with!
Thank you so much for your kind words!! Please check out my website for all your Spyder accessories: www.SpyderRydes.com
Awesome job! Ken did a great job filming. I know how tough it is to film and get all the information correct. I'm really happy your doing the Spyder side. I can't believe they still use the junk end links. Thank You
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!!!
Super installation guide! Love the close-ups of the install. You should wear the safety glasses 100% of the time when doing this. Thank you.
Thanks Jari!! I really appreciate it!!
EXCELLENT video. I currently own a 2014 RT and am looking at purchasing a 2022 RT, knowing that the Sway Bar will definitely need upgrading. I'm a DYIer, so this video was PERFECT. Thank You! BTW, I remember, all too well, those Florida storms from years ago, living in Orlando. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! When it comes time, be sure to buy from my website: SpyderRydes.com ☺️
Way to go! Thank you for posting this! Hubby and I have two 2023 Can Am Spyders and bought the Baja Ron sway bars for installation. After watching your video, we feel confident enough to do this ourselves! The fact that you took time to point out everything and add a list of tools is very helpful. Now looking forward to doing this to our trikes this weekend. High five!
Thank you so much! Do you notice a big difference with the new bars??
Yes! Feels more grounded in curves and windy rides. Would recommend. Don't know why Spyder didn't put these on to begin with....@@RykerRydes
Very well done video. You showed a couple of pointers I hadn't seen in other video's. Have my 2020 RTL in the garage now so.... here goes sometime this spring.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much!
You just sold me. Good understanding my friend.
Excellent presentation!...Back in the day we used grease to hold washers in place. ( didn’t work very well)
If you’re planning a lot of these upgrades, a soft-faced hammer and a drift pin would be handy.
Thank You!😎🇺🇸
Thanks for the tips. I appreciate you watching!!
Excellent video! Thank you. I need to do my 21' RTL Marsala Dark. Got this bookmarked till I have time to do it.
Awesome!!! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video was very informative made me order the kit thanks for fast shipping now to install and Happy Riding !!!! Yoi did a great job
Awesome! Thank you! So happy to help!
@@RykerRydes it's done only had to lift it 18 inches from sway bar to ground😊. Took me more time to clean up mess lol. Kinda had problem with glued on spacers need to be lined up almost exact no room for error. But I got an advantage I'm a diesel mechanic.
Going to buy that jack this week. Ty for showing it. One reason I haven't installed my swaybar was due to not having what I needed to jack it up
So happy to help!! Thanks for watching!
@@RykerRydes you're most welcome
Thank you for sharing
Hey Scott, you got a keeper there!
Lol Scott and his wife are my close friends. But thank you!
Today I fitted a BajaRon sway bar to my 2020 RT Ltd.
I watched your video last night which helped immensely, especially your tip of using superglue on those small washers on the end links.
I’m in Victoria Australia and unfortunately the condition of our country roads has deteriorated in recent years.
I’m hoping the new sway bar will make the ride less of a wrestling match when encountering some of our crappy roads.
Thanks for your video 👍
So glad I could help!! Make sure you check your tire pressure often!!
Secure install, I installed one myself last week, I saw one issue, the lower bolts are best to be installed facing outwards, reason being, the bolt (the shank) is super snug when going through the Baja Ron spacers, when installed correctly the shank goes through the sway bar then enters the spacers, the spacers just slides right on, also the bolts facing inwards is really close to the under fairing and could damage them. The instruction did show to face the bolts outwards. Initially I wanted to do what you did but realized otherwise. The installation is secure so the rider would be safe, nothing to be concerned from that perspective. I enjoyed watching..
Interesting perspective. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
Awesome vid sis so I brought all these thumbs ups 👍🏻 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💯💥⚡
Thank you so much 🤗
@@RykerRydes appreciate you for everything you do for Florida Motorcycle Community you are a leader and can't wait to meet
Thanks for the video, I just ordered my Baja Ron sway bar for my Spyder so plan to install as soon as I can. I love the Spyder Rydes videos! P.S. I tried to order from your Etsy link but I only saw the sway bars for the Rykers not Spyder.
Nooooo! 🤣 I definitely sell sway bars for the Spyder too! I am just happy you got one. You’ll love it!!
Just installed my new sway bar. I totally removed the two front splash plates. With my luck, I’d have busted them off somewhere along the way had I left them hanging by the T30 screws. Because I don’t have “little girlie fingers”, I also pulled two push pins on that plastic piece to allow it to swing down, providing more room for my short, fat little phalanges to reach up on the “icky side”. As I had hoped, this video made the install go smoothly once I figured out how to best elevate the front end.
That’s awesome!! Congrats on the install. Thoughts on the handling?
You are awesome !!!!! Fearless!!!!
Thank you!! That means so much to me....I try!
Nice job and well done! I purchased the sway bar last month. With your video, I am ready and confident to do the installation. Also, that was a nice ST1300 in the driveway.
That’s awesome. If you run into any trouble just ask!! More Spyder videos to come.
Good job!
Who checked the wheel alignment after the swap
It does not change the wheel alignment at all.
After getting my sway bar (not sure why they don’t call it an ANTI-sway bar…), I took Jean-Luc out for a spin. I am blessed with many twisty roads in our area, so I had great opportunities to test out the Baja Ron’s. First thing I noticed was how planted my 3-wheeled starship felt just turning corners in the neighborhood. On the windy roads leading into town there was a HUGE difference in how it handled in the curves. Heading back home again (isn’t that a John Denver song?), I practiced lane changes on a straight stretch when there was no oncoming traffic. Very responsive! Sooooo….my advice to anyone even slightly considering the Baja Ron sway (or anti-sway) bars is to go for it! Although the install can go quickly, take your time, watch this video (twice if you have to like I did) and you will be satisfied by not only a far better riding experience, but in the satisfaction of knowing you did the job yourself. You can do it….even if you don’t have “little girlie fingers”!
Best review ever! Could you possibly copy and paste on my website under baja ron sway bars?? ❤️
I posted an extended review on your website that includes yesterday's trip that included highway ryding.
Nice video as usual. Sadly BRP has fallen into HD mode having people buy their expensive vehicles then the owners must buy various needed up grades to obtain potential performance. The old saying was let the buyer beware. Happy and safe riding to all !
Interesting viewpoint. None of the add ons are necessary for a great ride. People, in general, enjoy modifying their bikes. But I do understand your point.
Would be helpful if you showed your method of lifting it. I’m new to Can Am and I’d sure appreciate!
Great suggestion! Thank you for watching.
Thanks for the video Great job the only question is where was you video when I put the baja ron bar on my 2019 ryker rally. Sold our rally's now going to install on 2022 spyder f3"s. A lot easier I had to cut the bar on the ryker. Keep up the great video"s
Thank you so much Jerry!!
I am usually much quicker at replying!!! Been crazy busy building my new website: www.RykerRydes.com check it out.
What a great and informative video!
Can I suggest a lav mic? They make them for iPhones/Android and you can put a fur on it to make it work really well in wind. Thanks again!
Thanks for the comment. That video was made a few years ago, I’ve gone through a few mics. 🤪
Great video I’m gonna do mine. I’m gonna wear shoes 👞!!!!! 😂
Lol! I highly recommend shoes!!! Ps here’s a link to buy the Baja Ron sway bar: www.RykerRydes.com
Hi there ... Thanks for this video. Did the byke feel stable when fully lifted with the HF lift? Did you not use the 2" extension pads for extra height? I'd certainly also use tall jack stands up front. Thanks for any info..
I felt the bike was pretty stable. But everyone has a different comfort level. Using tall jack stands is definitely the best option.
Have you considered doing a review on the steering damper sold by Rykermod or BLR Tuning?
Sounds interesting. I will look into it. Thanksgiving Shaughn.
nice job very well explain my question too you what is the brand name of your jack lift you used too lift the can-am.
HI Paul, there is a link to the jack in the description section of the video.
Hello Beth I wanted to let you know the board at my condo allowed me yesterday to have the integrated cover for the ryker but not a full cover . So the windshield, handlebars and seat will be what is covered. So I will see how the bike holds out in the sun. I tried to order the back to black product you used but Amazon did not have it in stock at the time I looked so I ordered the VRP back to black it is supposed to also have ultra violet light protection. Are there any other products you can recommend that is safe for the bike that will protect it from the sun like maybe a wax. Love your videos and the one you did with the Linq cooler was very helpful because when I got the bike used it came with that cooler and now I understand how to remove the cooler and what kind of plate is used and I did not even know my bike came with the max mount until I say your video I thought the plate I saw on top was in place of the max mount so now I know I have a ram mount also. Keep the wonderful videos coming and thank you for being such a big help to the ryker community. Over time I will do a video on how the ryker plastic holds up without being covered I never saw a video that talks about that and this could help other people who are in my situation who are not allowed to cover their back and do not want to pay a high monthly fee to store it at a storage unit. I found it a pain anyway having to drive my car somewhere to be able to drive my bike I just want to walk outside the condo and get on the bike and not have to drive to it.
Thank so much for your kind words. I am glad you got to cover your bike, at least partially. Some condo rules, just don't make sense to me. I would try to fight it. As for products to use on your Ryker, Back to Black is my favorite. Just be sure anything you buy, is safe to use on plastics. I would recommend getting a wrap for your bike (AMRracing.com), that is the best way to protect your bike and keep it looking awesome (wrap won't fade in the sun). If you decide to go that way, watch my wrap video for a coupon code. Keep me posted! Ryde safe!
@@RykerRydes thanks for getting back to me. I do not have the patience to do a wrap plus I notice people use dryers when doing the wrap and since I do not have a garage or any outlet outside to plug in a dryer that would make it even more difficult. What would someone charge to put a wrap on for me I would guess it would be expensive since it looks like it is very time consuming
I checked the link on that blue jack you were using and it says the maximum height only goes up to 17". How did you get the necessary 24" clearance?
It does work, I promise. When the jack is just below the sway bar channel, it will raise the front to the necessary height. That jack is the exact one used in the video.
One more question Beth about the plate for the Linq cooler that is on the bike how do you remove the plate do I push that button down and then the button pops up and lets me slide the plate off because in your video you showed how to put the plate on but not how to take the plate off, thank you.
Yes, exactly. You may need to push the button up from underneath, to help pop it up.
Ms. Ryker what kind of jack is that you're using and where can I find it?
All the info is in the description section of the video.
Beth, do you have to take off the floor board to get the Jack under the bike????
NO, absolutely not. Good question though.
so how did you get the spyder that high in the air, my big floor jack only goes to 20 inches leaving me 4 inches short
It does take a bigger floor jack. The information and links are in the description section.
What year were you working on ? would it be the same for a 2017 F3?
The Spyder was a 2021 RT, which should have a similar install as your 2017 F3.
With the harbor freight jack do it goes up to 24 inch to raise the bike up? I was read the specs it said the high of the harbor freight 17”
Hmmm. I used a friend’s jack, and it worked perfectly.
@@RykerRydes ok thanks
What year is the spyder you are working on, and would the instructions be the same for a 2017
This Spyder is a 2021. It should be a pretty similar install. Here is the link:
www.rykerrydes.com/product-page/bajaron-sway-bar-kit-for-spyder
I do have one more question I noticed the ones that you are using are adjustable Pierre from Ontario has it's given the same set but his aren't looking like the plastic but they're Not adjustable would that make a difference And it's the same price. Another words would I need to adjust them. Or worry about them getting loose His aluminum ones are one piece. There is no adjustment
I’m not sure about other brands, but the Baja Ron ones are NOT adjustable.
When i looked up that floor jack you used, it is only a max height of 17 inches. How did you raise it the additional 7 inches.
It is actually my friend’s floor jack. I will ask him.
@@RykerRydeshubby just bought the ultimate jack. A Big Blue from the UK. I lifts the complete Spyder off the ground. We did two Baja Ron Sway Bars in week on mine and hubby's F3Ls. Good video.
I just got a Ryker sport looking for a windshield could you give me some ideas thanks you
Check out my website: www.RykerRydes.com I have a few listed.
Just wondering where did you buy the jack?
The link/info is in the description section of the video. Thanks for watching!
Hi Beth, are you sending BajaRon to Ryker in the Czech Republic? Thank you
Yes! The cheapest shipping cost would be $41.20 to send you a sway bar. If you are interested please PM on FB or Instagram your email and shipping address. I will then send you an invoice. 😉
@@RykerRydes Thank you.
Is this sway bar upgrade more difficult with a Halo Skid installed?
It will take any 4 minutes to remove the halo skid. That’s the easy part. 😜
How long should it take to replace the sway bar, start to finish?
Give yourself 2 hours. Go slow and be patient.
What height does the actual Jack you used goes to? I can’t find any hack going higher than 17” without breaking the budget. What Jack do you use? Is it one listed in the comments?
Thanks for watching. The Jack information is the one listed in the description of the video.
Did the rear tire was blocked??.
It is always a good idea to put a chock behind the wheel.
What motorcycle Jack are you using?
All the links are in the video description section. Thanks so much for watching.
Could you just do a video on where the jack needs to be to lift the spyder
Yes! Thank you for asking.
more specific 2021 can am spyder RTL
Does It matter on mileage ? I have a rt 2021 .
Not at all! You will love the difference your RT will feel. Here’s the link when you are ready: www.rykerrydes.com/baja-ron-can-am
You should have safety glasses on to protect your eyes 😊 Thank You for the video’s
Oldest 2013 please. I don't know how to order frome you. I will
I have a question rather than change the whole bar why not just change The 2 end pieces that are plastic ?
Absolutely that is an option. On my Etsy page I sell the whole kit as well as just the links. The links make a big difference, but the entire sway bar + links makes a huge difference. Hope that helps.
You can take out the play from the plastic end links ,but the overall tension in the bajaron swaybar is higher and they takes a lot of sway and makes the byke really handle better.
Is your website down?
No, I don’t think so?? www.rykerrydes.com/
So thats how you get in in the air.. my jack will not fit under my 2022rtl, so I run up on ramps and jack from their but still leaves me 4 inchs short.. ATV lift just forward of center.. Ok a Meroral day ITC sale at HF. Maybe I will get my BajaRon on tomorrow
Awesome! Let me know if you notice a difference!!
@@RykerRydes indeed I do. well worth it. well maybe not. I started with a pair of jack/ramps before the ATV lift. I actually own an original Big-Blue lift but it's not rated for a Spyder. I actually removed the 2 T30 screws (left/right covers) and the front 2 push/pins for the right/rear cover providing much easyer access to the bushing pinch bolt nut. All went well until I over tightened the inboard channel pinch bolt and snapped the end off.
@@n6dl321 nooooooo! Were you able to get it fixed?
@@RykerRydes indeed 2 trips to lowes to get a 6/1 65mm stainless bolt. First was only 50mm
Please buy a wind sock for your microphone to cut down on the wind noise.
Yes sir! I have one, just need to use it.
where is the jack location?
i have that jack and Im trying to figure how to jack it up. Then to tilt the bike on the rear wheel
Under the bike there is a “sign of the cross”. That is your jack point. In the middle of the video I point it out.
They make small push pin pliers that greatly simplifies getting the puns out. (Still the barefoot mechanic i see😉.
Thanks Gary!! I just bought a pair to try!!
Good video but I don't get why you're barefoot in the garage... It just doesn't make sense.
I live in Florida, it’s hot. But you are right. Safety first!
You missed a golden opportunity! Before you switched the bars, tell Andy you did switch the bars and get her test ride impressions not knowing the original bar was still in place. Then switch the bars and retest and compare impressions.
It doesn't make sense why would they want to put spacers why not just make the part larger. The dog bo ne. I went to Slingshot but they have one like that but they have nuts which makes it adjustable both sides and they have the ones that are not adjustable That's what I'm Questioning
I am not sure. That is a good question to ask Baja Ron directly. He has done years of research and 1,000’s of happy customers.
I understand it made out of plastic. Did anybody bothered to ask why they would have done that or called them up and asked them. I ask because they have not changed 2024. Why?
Honestly, I have no idea. 🤷
A bandana would keep that dirt out of your mouth. Great video though.
Great tip!!!
