Have literally been going over this dilemma today. They look so good and they’re just in the range where I could be like ‘oh maybe one.’ And we all know where that goes
@@LylesFigureFiles About an hour ago they announced another wolverine... SAME tiger stripe but as an "unmasked head version" .. IMMEDIATELY made me reconsider this line of figures if they do this. Get ready for unmasked Iron Man UGH, way to burn a line to death before it even really starts.
When the Hono Studios Comic Iron Man was initially solicited, I immediately locked in for it. The Brown Suit Wolverine looks amazing too, but I can't do it now. Then Hot Toys drops a classic Doctor Doom. Definitely getting him.
29:13 Hey Jeff, I actually had the Wolverine figure pre-ordered when it first went up some months back. I usually use my PayPal debit card for preorders that are a ways out. That way I get a notification saying I need to update my payment method as I really don't leave money in the PayPal account. I do it that way so I am not surprised by a charge for a figure I forgot was pre-ordered. Long story short, I somehow missed that notification and my order was cancelled. I wouldn't have even known it was released if I didn't start seeing reviews. By that time it was too late. He was sold out. I did jump on the wait-list. So, fingers crossed. 🤞
And another great review. You know you’re old when some teens come up to you to tell you, “I love Bicardi too!” As they walk away you realize you’re wearing a thunder cats, symbol only shirt.
Thanks for your efforts on this one Jeffrey. These Hono Toys are something. 12 inch figures are something many manufacturers avoid, however these guys have put together an incredible product. Their prices are very attractive. I hope they maintain that price range. An Hono Hulk might be interesting.
I have both Wolverines so far and the other figures on preorder. Hono is put out by Hot Toys. I’m really liking this line so far. Thor was shown at a recent convention and looks fantastic.
For a supposedly collector introduction line, they jumped their price from 165 to 215 in less than a year; in a span of 4 announced figures and 1 released figure. I suspected that this was a "hook" but I thought it would take time and be more of a gradual price increase. I got the yellow wolverine and have magneto on PO but at this point, I'm just hoping the price will still be "affordable" until I finish the core Avengers line but once I get my Ironman; I just might abandon the line.
@@LylesFigureFiles I got wolverine and PO'ed Magneto to support the effort but what I really wanted is to get the core avengers team (Cap, Thor, Ironman and Hulk). If you do decide, i think you need to set your collecting boundaries otherwise it won't be something you will enjoy. BTW, they just dropped a re-release of wolverine with a logan head.
@@LylesFigureFiles for artists to prevail and execute the exact look of the character this good is groundbreaking! It spells that it will change the esthetic way the industry will approach the look, engineering and materials! Is a 1/12 version around the corner?!!!?💯❤️

Whoa! Nice figures! 2 MCU figures I'm dying to get are Thor with his Helmet (seen for about 30 seconds in the first Thor) and Captain America's first uniform from Captain America First Avenger-I think they did a 5 inch figure when that movie came out? Both done by Marvel Legends please! I think they should have rubberized the Black suit Spiderman. It looks like the Symbiote version since he's shooting from the tops of his hands. and the rubber body would have been closer to the symbiotic goo, not the fabric version he made later.
Waaay back in the day Hot Toys did release that helmet Thor: www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_061711a.htm That makes sense about the symbiote version. I wonder how that would have impacted his articulation, but it certainly would have looked sleek.
I keep looking at these too. Not sure what I am going to do. I have quite a few Sideshow/hottoys figs but Comic accurate renditions would be much better than MCU versions is my thinking. they showed the Thor at toyfare earier this year. I did pre-order the spidey and got on the wait list for brown Wolverine. On the fence for Ironman.
It just struck after all these years! Victor is a knight in armour. The tunic, the cowl and Cape of a King. He's not wearing an estucean or standard on a traditional surcoat with a bucket helmet, but the look is there. "Sir Doom"🤔 no wonder I've always liked him! LoL😉.. No! I rebuke this rabbit hole devil, in the name of all that is Holy! Peace!
Did you see they only recently announced an unmasked tiger stripe Wolverine too? Still watching the video but I didn't hear it come up when you mentioned the 6 announced figures. How do we feel about them locking an alternate unmasked head behind a third hono studios Wolverine?
Do it Jeffery!!!! lol 🤣. I got the 2 Comic Wolverines Tiger stripe and brown suit and they are amazing for the price. I am picking and choosing but I do have Hano Magneto and Ironman on pre order.
You are absolutely killing me Jeff! Here I am trying to be a "responsible" collector and limiting my purchases and then you go and show me these, smh. (😉) Seriously though, these looks great! I'm getting excited for the possibilities here. Give me a classic Ant-Man and Wasp, Vision and Ultron and wow, I will be a happy (and broke) man child.
Man, I had to have some company in my big dilemma LOL I won't need a wholesale Marvel Comics setup, but high-end versions of the main heroes and villains? That could be fun.
I'm going to avoid all 12 inch figure collections. There are too many rabbit holes. Also, I'm in the End Game for Marvel collecting as a whole. I went all in on Marvel 6 inch figure for the last 25 years. Time to close that chapter. I do however have a Hot Toys Ant-man in my 6 inch MCU collection.
@LylesFigureFiles I'm looking to reduce and phase out 75% overall collecting since space is very limited. I'm looking to complete most of the G.I. Joe Classified characters from the 80s mainline single release between now and end of 2025. About 25 to go for that. Other than that, I only want to collect a limited one off of certain Mezco and Mafex figures as well as 3rd party like Ramen.
Only if they give me Figures of Characters I don't have. Because with 3 different Marvel 'Earth's', 616, 777, and Futuristic 818, I don't need a lot of Figures. I'm at only about 12 'Holy Grails' before I can say I have a Complete Collection. Now, there are more I would buy. But I average about 2 Figures a Wave.
@LylesFigureFiles Yeah, 30 years and 6 months Collector, I don't need a lot of Duplicates except Army Builders. Which is a whole other topic. Star Wars Black, Warhammer, and MOTU Animal Men have solved some of my problems.
Oh man. I don't want to get into this line because my wallet won't love me any more. I know part of me will say just 1, but then I'll follow the rabbit like Neo. So if you were to get one. Which one would you get Jeff
Except for the Iron Man all of the other figures have some really goofy-ass proportions. Magnetos head to chest ratio is weird, Spider-Mans head is too round. Wolverine and his spread eagle claws and his mask isn't shaped right.
Sir jazzy Jeff, no. No, thank you. Love the silicone figures. I have several silicone ladies (silicone parts are made for toys "), however, they are all 6,7,9 inch scale. I got a pre-order for one at 12" and that's only because it's Chun Li in her track suit. Luke Skywalker and Grogu from Hot Toys as well as classic Iron Man. This started with icons series. Avengers only; Hulk, Thor,(I lost Odinson and son of coul in a move) That THOR looks like a good replacement)Cap, Legends Ant-Man, Wasp ftw. Comic style only and only these core members. No more, no less.
@@LylesFigureFilesI have no issues. I did research. You only need to keep the figure away from extreme temperatures and limit the amount of time the figure is kept in a stretched pose. eg; high kicks or "T" poses. This may affect getting the figure back into a vanilla pose after stretching the skin for prolonged periods. Honestly, I have more issues with upkeep of synthetic/real hair on these dolls more than anything else. That won't be an issue for these MARVEL figures.
