    The oscillating headlights remind me of the old Southern Pacific I saw as a kid in Houston in the late '70s. I miss the SP.

    Yay, they put an accurate horn on 1030. Now it can sound like a real Seaboard unit.

    I am confused here. Why did you not show the entire train? How many cars were there? That’s a pretty heavy train for those grades... I guess? Hard to tell since we never saw the whole train? Why did you not show the switching moves at Tool Works???

    • @NSAaron
      @NSAaron  3 роки тому

      It's hard to get ahead of the train in a chase if I were to stay watching the whole train go by. There were 18 to 20 cars loaded with steel I-Beams. They did not switch Tool World that day. All they did was switch the power out and split the crossings.

    • @NSAaron
      @NSAaron  6 років тому +3

      Nope. L&N. Italics with pin striping. If we ever do a Seaboard locomotive it would have to have been delivered Seaboard.

    • @NorthEasternMotionProductions
      @NorthEasternMotionProductions 6 років тому

      Aaron Beaubien it was actually ex Seaboard, you guys got it from Oak Ridge Tennessee, this is the famous Oak Ridge horn honk unit. I bet you didn't know this unit once wore a s3j and a s5d.

    • @NSAaron
      @NSAaron  6 років тому +2

      Unit was built for the L&N from the factory before it was seaboard. That unit has worn over 400 horns.

    I don't know which paint scheme i like better, the family lines or Seaboard System. When the Family Lines reincorporated as the Seaboard System in 1985, they should have called themselves Seaboard System Family Lines.

      I kinda have to agree. 1030 looks like it was just saved from the torch, but it’s been running for years. The least they could do is give it a fresh coat.

    #1030 Should be Cosmetically restored to her original L&N Livery and move to Ravenna Ky, to be part of the Kentucky Rail Heritage Center collection Since the Right of Way there is former L&N Trackage.

    Why are these units in Florida? Shouldnt they be in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

    • @NSAaron
      @NSAaron  5 років тому

      They are on lease to O&NW. There is plenty of other power at Oak Ridge to take care of the freight on the line, so leasing a couple out wont hurt the operation.

    • @ohboy2592

      FRA dictates the blowing of horn, not the city. If they have an ordinance for quiet zone or light blowing which I’ve never heard of then it must be approved by the FRA and the state.
