    The pack looks well designed, and the price hovers between $250 and $300, which is somewhat off putting depending upon your budget.
    The problem with these type of packs, is that before you put one gear item in the pack, you are already at an empty pack weight of 5 pounds, and you only have 35 liters of storage.
    Borderline storage for most two day trips.
    As ex military, I like these style packs, but I struggle with finding a practical use for them, that can't be accomplished with packs that are larger, lighter, just as well designed and organized, and still very durable, and ultra comfortable.
    I would go with a backpack like a Gossamer Gear Mariposa 60 liter backpack instead.
    RIght around two pounds, less in smaller sizes, and made with durable100 & 200 denier Robic high-tensile strength nylon, with 7 organizational pockets.
    Want a smaller pack, the try the Gossamer Gear Gorilla 40, or the Kumo 36.
    Good Luck!

      I'll take a look in to those you mentioned. I don't think the 200-300 for the right features, build quality, and customer support is bad. I have more expensive bags that this pack blows out of the water that costed more. I think weight savings could be had by removing some of the velcro and simplifying the brain to just exterior zippers, but for me, my hard use packs need to be cordura as I've worn thru a bunch of packs. When I take a look at the packs you mentioned I'll take special note on the harness since I have back issues. Thanks for the comment!

      @@innerbarkoutdoors Sounds good, better pricing usually shows up for at least a day or two, if not longer, at most gear manufacturers and sellers sites on Black Friday.
      Your back will thank you.
      These guys agree on the Mariposa 60, and you may be interested in checking out their reviews on all types of outdoor gear.

      I have received great feedback, and read great reviews on the Massdrop x Granite Gear X60 backpack. It seems to be a great backpack for $120.00, and as low as $100, when it went on sale around Black Friday.

      especially if you use the hook/loop or Molle to organize on the inside, it would open up like a medic pack.

    I prefer the original Arcteryx version of this pack. Ibex knocked off their design.

      InnerBark Outdoors the Khard/Assault 45 is what I’d prefer for an outdoor bag. Arcteryx has a larger and smaller size as well, 30, and 60 liters.

    Great job on the concise review and overview of the features - but you missed the adjustable height harness. That is fairly uncommon in a pack in this size class.

      It comes in black and grey if that's your preference. Or if you wanted to do a 180 they have multicam black.

    Definitely want this pack I have the 511 rush 72 which is a good bag but a little big for me and a Heavy canvas green Duluth pack with leather strapping two side pockets one front large main compartment and another zipper pocket on the flap of the main compartment cost me $250 and I could of got the ibex 35 for that price gonna take awhile to save up for this bag so if u want to trade it I can give u one of the two bags I mentioned both in brand new condition and a top of the line knife folder or fixed ZT spyderco Benchmade kabar Tops mora the Hogue EX-05 great flipping action desert tan color a beast with my favorite stainless steel cpm154 I have an old but mint condition Japanese made Almar sere 2000 vg10 steel thick tough liner great one handed action camo g10 handles H and K blades by Benchmade mint endela spyderco knife in saber grind and an old school Blindhorse knives woodsman knife in O1 tool steel brown micarta handles with fisheye bolts the blade is 3 inches long scandi ground 1/8 inch thick sharp spine and blade and comes with a nice leather sheath paid $150 for it but it’s not made anymore since Blindhorse knives split into 2 companies LT Wright and Battlehorse knives and theres much more but I’ve probably already wrote to much as attention spans aren’t very good these days.

    Very Appropriate for you to review this since my first impression was that it was a copy of the Eberlestock Halftrack. Care to expand?

    • @innerbarkoutdoors
      @innerbarkoutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      Half-track is very different from this pack. This pack doesn't have pass through sleeves on the sides and runs a bit smaller. The harness adjustment is similar but that's where the similarities end. Half-track uses a different frame than the polymer one here, and the half-track has a communications rack built in where this one is more for practical use. This pack also sits higher where the half-track is a wider.

    • @Neil_MacGregor
      @Neil_MacGregor 3 роки тому

      @@innerbarkoutdoors thank you so much for your considered response. Greatly appreciated. Think the current half track has gone with polycarbonate frame now also. If you had to choose one?

    • @innerbarkoutdoors
      @innerbarkoutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      @@Neil_MacGregor It's hard to say. This pack is better for hiking, and has more civilian specific features whereas the halftrack is better for carrying a long gun and is better suited if you're wearing a ballistic helmet (since it rides lower).
