Great information thanks! Roald Dahl was a WWII RAF fighter pilot and spy, and so he probably had to grow up way too soon like so many of his generation, it's likely why his books have the dark twist?
Reading myths and legends and folklore was my childhood! As an adult I've been fascinated by finding echos of traditional stories in modern literature. Love Barbar in the background :D
