I've used the Nukatap faucets (no flow control model) already and I'm impressed by the design and simplicity in assembly making cleaning so much quicker and easier. The flow control is not necessary if it is fitted on the keg already, but the option of having control on the faucet is now available for anyone not having that option, although it does mean having more moving parts to disassemble and clean. I still prefer the chrome version as it complements my own dispensing arrangements, though I'm sure the anodised black version will also have its own followers.
Great to hear Tim, yes 6 of my 7 faucets are regular models I am very satisfied with their performance. The flow control model just takes this good design and adds in more control. I guess some will need it more than others.
Just a follow-on to my original post. They have these in the US now although I sourced one from Europe a few months ago. I purchased a second one from a US vendor last month so both of my kegerator taps are the same. One thing that threw me is that the spring I ordered from Europe was "weighted" different than the US spring, so the faucets pulled differently. I'd ordered a spare spring from the US vendor so I swapped that into the first one I got so now they pull the same. Anyway, between those and the Kegland restrictors I've not had a beer in there that I couldn't tune the flow to manage foaming. Very happy combination, hoping it lasts.
Just got one of these babies along with some duotight + 4mm line for my series 4. Going to use the quick carb tomorrow - excited to try beer that is carbonated exactly to the amount I want.
Great video mate! I noticed in the comments you have been testing these for 6 weeks. I would like to see a video of that. Instead I might order one of those and one of the Ultra taps and compare it to my Intertap FC’s and the original FC device (you know the round thing that fits behind the tap). Because I find all of the flow control devices are a bit hit and miss! Cheers mate
I gave up waiting and bought CM Becker X1 flow control faucets. The flow control mechanism is likely superior to the Nukatap's, but do require special shanks. The study plastic composite body of these valves conduct heat poorly, so first pour warming is not a problem. Unfortunately, they are not forward-sealing, so they are incompatible with the Tapcooler counterpressure filler, so I've retained one Intertap faucet, just for filling bottles.
I think the way the Standard Nukataps work not everyone will need the FC version. Ive gone standard myself but have 1 FC on one kegerator just in case!
David, I am doing a Keezer build and I am trying to find Nukataps FC in the States but it does not look like it has been released here yet. I also see I can buy them on Alibaba and have them shipped directly from China to the USA but I am wary. Just wondering what your thoughts were. Thanks.
Hey Ted. Thats odd. I would suggest reaching out to companies like morebeer, it could be that they have shipments incoming. On Aliexpress “Brewmaster” are reliable, ive ordered from them several times without a hitch with great prices, Its just a longer wait.
Thanks David, excellent content, I have between 1.5m and 2.5m of beer line for different carb levels, would the use of these enable a short line length irrespective of carbonation, I would love to get rid of the coils of beer line in my fridge.
Thank you. I have heard that these are working well just with a shank on a mini keg but this is not something that I have tested. I much prefer the approach of having a system that is balanced for normal use with flow control giving the opportunity of more extreme adjustment when needed.
I prefer it SS/Chrome :) Beside that i use Perlick 650SS Flow control. I have one Intertap also, but no flow control on that, so can't compare. Ty for video and info again David.
Have you tested these, David? Or, are you simply summarizing the manufacturer's design claims? It would have been interesting to see video of how much adjustment could be achieved.
Great, thanks William. Ive set up 5 of these and so far they are looking the same as they did on day one but it is a fairly short time frame so I cannot advise further on this just yet.
Excellent video as always with a lot of very useful information. I have the older Intertap FC in SS, unfortunately the flow slider has frozen inside the tap and I can’t get it to either drop out or move back in. The tap is free of any beer residues. Tried boiling water, blow torch, WD40, and brutal force, but nothing seems to shift it. Any thoughts please?
I am yet to fully test the pros and cons here. In this case they both seem to do the job but I have not done enough comparison to determine which has an advantage.
Thank you for the replies David, I doubt I'm the only one with unruly coils of beer line clogging up my fridge/kegerator space just to get a "tuned" length, and then stuck with "this tap only pours well with X amount of carbonation" I would dearly love a comparison between flow control taps/disconnects/pipe lengths with regards to co2 breakout/pourability. Many of us have multiple taps, in my case 4 in one fridge and 2 in the other, and enjoy a variety of beer styles requiring different carb levels, so perhaps a comparison of the different methods of flow control would be well received. Cheers Grahame
Same here. Based on my minimum kegerator temp, I set my regulator at 15psi to get 2.5 vols of CO2 and even with a 8m length of beer line (admittedly not enough. but it's all I have space for) the beer still comes out foamy with my basic forward-sealing, no-flow-control faucet.
What's the beer line that you are using? I have been trying a lot of solutions in the past years and all seem to be like dripping (very different flow than a typical pub beer tap flow).
I am using 4mm ID line at between 3-4 meters per line. My 3 tap kegerator uses 3m and my 4 tap kegerator has 4m at present. Both are working well with 1 bar of pressure with temps at 5C.
@@DavidHeathHomebrew Need/want? What's the difference, hahahaha. To be fair my line length and gauge combo work just fine, I just like nice shiney new techy things :D
@@DavidHeathHomebrew I love the black ones but when building my Keezer I had to have her approval since the Keezer lives in our living room and she wanted shiny stainless steel Nukataps so that’s what I bought. Thanks Thomas. The black faucets have been very popular. Ive gone for them with my second Kegerator but still have stainless on my other one, which I will keep for contrast :)
sorry, I didn't state question well. I'm looking at making a seltzer fountain, and was curious if the flow control would be good for a higher pressure Co2 and adjusting it lower to pour so it does not spray as much. @@DavidHeathHomebrew
huh... I am using compensation taps since like 20 years now and I am wondering, if the Nukatap has any advantages over them? Because I never had a problem with them ever due to them being flow controlled. Do you have any experience with compensation/compensator taps?
I've got 4 black Nukataps and 3 SS, one of which is an FC model. I've had these for quite some time now and I do not really use the FC function as Nukataps can do without it.
I don't find the black one appealing at all as it reminds me of an old cheese cutter my family used to have that had the same color and unfortunately stained your hands when using it. But I guess that association is a rare one and just my personal experience. The stainless steel version on the other hand looks really good to me. If you know a source to get these nice faucets in Europe (and preferably EU) let me know! I am ready to trade my 4 intertaps for these!
Quick advice don't buy a black one, very poor paint quality. I bought one recently and learned it hard way. All what I did it was, spliting black tap into the parts and soaking it in sodium percarbonate solution. As soon as I took out my brand new tap I find out that pain comes of in few places and Tap looks like has been used for many years already...😭😭😭
Really great explanation and visuals as always. I would like one of these in black, they just look super cool.
Thanks for your answer Alan :) Glad you enjoyed this one :)

Great to hear. Odd about the spring difference though!
Thanks David, This is helpful. I would definitely consider the mat black design
Thanks Tim, much appreciated :)
Matt Black looks really good, they should definitely consider making this available. Thanks for the review as I was about to buy the Nuka without FC.
Thanks Simon, I am glad you found this useful.
Nice to see they are improving the product, wonder what they can improve from here...
You and me both! You never know! :)
Very nice video again.. Great little specific details.. That black one is really nice..
Many thanks Christian :) Yes, I love details :)
Hi, I bought two of these and both are leaking from the small holes by the locking ring. Does this have to be screwed in very hard?
Mine are tight but also be wary of over tightening.
Love my flow control intertaps but I do plan on checking out a few nukataps with flow control down the line.
Great, I hope you enjoy the improvements as much as I do.

Thanks Ken. Yes, I might follow on with this. It is a total redesign that works very well compared to other FC models Ive tried.
I'll be glad when they solve the supply issue in the US. I've had mine on order since September. Still show as back ordered on the sites I've tried.
Ouch. Yes that is long to wait sadly.

@@cornfieldcraig Got a message from the place I had ordered mine, the faucet won't be available in the US due to a patent issue with Perlick.
Yes, could be an even longer wait due to that legal situation sadly in the US.
A patent issue..... Ahh. Thanks for letting me know. Glad I didn't wait any longer.
I would definitely buy those in black.
Thanks for your answer Allan :)
Hi David, interested to know if that was a sponsored video or the tap was provided to you gratis?
Hi Mike, I do not accept sponsorship and nobody is able to ply me with goods to buy my opinion either.
Well I probably won’t switch to flow control but the standard black nukataps are working out superb!

i would like 2 of these in matte black.
Maybe one day 🍻🍻
I definitely want this in Matte Black!
Yes, very cool for sure
Can you remove the lever once you have the flow set so other people can't change it?
No, the level remains in place but its easy to remember where that sweet spot is
Definitely in matte black, provided the finish is as durable as the price tag suggests.
Great, thanks William. Ive set up 5 of these and so far they are looking the same as they did on day one but it is a fairly short time frame so I cannot advise further on this just yet.
Hi David, I have assembled a kegerator with 3 Nukatap FCs - simple question - how do I operate the tap/s to control flow and reduce foam?
Hi Jon, by using the lever on the tap. This controls the flow rate.

Have you tried adding it to a heated solution of PBW and then left it overnight?
Oh, and would a flow control disconnect be a better or worse option to the flow control tap?
I am yet to fully test the pros and cons here. In this case they both seem to do the job but I have not done enough comparison to determine which has an advantage.

I will see what I can do :) The trouble is carbonation level preference changes everything.

ah nuts!... I'm going to have to add flow control at the keg as i recently bought my nukataps before the FC version was available...
