    I have had the flow control faucets from Intertap for about 2 years now. I cant use the spring but its worth it to control the flow. I run my CO2 pressure at 10 psi and I used to have 10ft of line just to keep the beer from foaming up. Now I can just run a short line and adjust it on the tap. Love them so much easier.

      The internal flow control are absolutely the best. I just wish they worked with the spring setup.

    I bought these about 3 months ago when I wanted to replace my old ones. Never had an issue with them. They do say you need to buy their shank to make the spring work, but they work fine in my standard shanks.

      Yeah the spring worked fine with mine too! I really like them and the versatility of the different spouts.Cheers! 🍻

    I also switched to intetaps on my 2 tap kegerator because the cheap ones I bought when I built my kegerator were sticking so bad. Had them about a year now and couldn't be happier. I use the growler filler attachment to fill 12 oz bottles for competitions and it works great! No issues losing a lot of carbonation and no signs of the beers oxidizing.

    Ive had these for a few years now. I absolutely love them. I’ve had no issues at all. The growler filler works great and you could use it to fill bottles too. Personally I think they are the best out there. Cheers Brian🍻

    Don't know if anyone else posted this but for anyone having issues with leaking/dripping Perlicks and can't afford to fix or replace them, the Intertap springs are inexpensive and fit Perlick 630SS faucets. I bought some for my Perlicks to avoid someone forgetting to push a faucet back the whole way after pouring a beer at my partys.

    • @Twistedmist

      Yeah I didn't buy the flow control because it adds a possible disruption at a ball valve just prior to coming out of the faucet.

  • @andrewthomas3985

    I use 2 Intertap Flow Control taps on my kegerator. I find the flow control useful in fine tuning the resistance for different carb levels in beers without needing to change out hose lengths. They also flow better and drip less than the cheap chinese taps that I had before!

    Love the channel. Been brewing now for about 5 years and found the channel when I started researching going electric.
    My faucet handles all have a hole drilled into them with a small piece of shock cord looped through the hole to a small eye bolt screwed into the collar on my kegerator. It looks like hell but works pretty good. I think I might need to upgrade now. Or as another commenter has mentioned just try the springs alone. It would get a bit spendy to replace all 8 taps.

    • @ShortCircuitedBrewers
      @ShortCircuitedBrewers  6 років тому

      Thanks Chris I appreciate the comments. Sometimes function over form is what it takes LOL. I like the Ingenuity of it! They are pretty nice but you're right eight of them would certainly hit the pocketbook. Maybe a few at a time if the Springs don't help. Cheers! 👍🍻

    I currently have two perlicks on my tower. Never had any issues with the taps themselves. My only issue I have had with my kegging system is getting foam on the first pour. Pretty sure it's related to either no cold air circulation to the top of the tower or my lines are too short. So I would be interested in a video on setting up a kegging system for sure.

    I have the Intertap basic chorme plated faucets. I'm interested in the attachmentmets for the faucets, but I want wondering if a 3/8 hose will fit through a standard 12oz bottle opening to fill rather then using Beer gun. Also have you tried the stout tap. I don't have nitro, just co2 and I don't alot of stouts on tap as I have a a 2 tap Kegerator. Should I just stick with the standard top when pouring mine?

    • @ShortCircuitedBrewers
      @ShortCircuitedBrewers  6 років тому

      Yes the 3/8 house will fit. The advantage of the beer gun is that you can purge the bottle with CO2. I have not used the stout tap. A couple of people have said that it does work with CO2 but nitro would be better.

  • @FullMetalProtoss

    Have you found the stout faucet attachment works as well as a dedicated stout faucet? Seems kind of crazy that this only costs about 40 for the faucet and stout attachment when a dedicated nitro faucet is 80 to 100.

    That ball lock post comes really handy when filling a mancan etc. I currently have only a single Perlick 650SS that connects directly into a keg but after this video I'm considering the option to buy Intertaps for my upcoming kegerator. That way I could easily dedicate the perlick for the mancan (trips and so on). Any change that you're going to make a review about model 8473 (Intertap with flow control)?

    • @ShortCircuitedBrewers
      @ShortCircuitedBrewers  6 років тому +1

      Keijo Johansson I agree the Ball lock fitting comes in handy..I have not inquired about a flow control. Some one did comment on this video that they have one and don't use it much. Question, what would you use the flow control for? Filling growlers etc?

    • @aasiaasi
      @aasiaasi 6 років тому

      I bought the perlick with FC so I could install it directly into a keg. There's no hose to balance the pressure/flow. That way I could have wider range of carbonation without the foaming problems. It has come handy and I've used it a lot because I'm still a noob with kegging (overcarbonated quite a few kegs with force carbonating). But I agree that there isn't that much of a need after you get your hoses set up correctly and know how to hit the carbonation spot on every time.

    I'm building a keezer and to make my wife happy i'm adding a tap with ginger ale. Are there any concerns with using an intertap faucet with sugary beverages?

    • @ShortCircuitedBrewers
      @ShortCircuitedBrewers  3 роки тому +1

      Not that I'm aware of Beer has sugars in it. They are residual but they're still sugars in there. The inner taps are a forward seal faucet so the seals stay wet all the time and should not stick.

    Brian do you have any suggestions to go from the growler filler to a regular bottle to giveaway samples to friends.

      They do make 1/2" bottling wands..that may work for you with that growler attachment. If you have a carb cap with a barb like mine, attach some hose and purge the bottle with CO2 before filling..kinda like a cheaper beer gun solution. Let me know what you do and how it works! 👍🍻

    Building a 16 Tap keezer at the moment. I like the ball lock attachment, but with the spring, do you need to hold the handle and use the beer gun trigger? I use the Last straw from Northern Brewer.

    • @ShortCircuitedBrewers
      @ShortCircuitedBrewers  6 років тому +1

      xboxer1985 yes you would have to hold the Tao handle open. A suggestion on that, if you know you are bottling quite a few bottles off of the keg, you could leave the spring out. Cheers! 👍🍻

    • @Bassguitarist1985
      @Bassguitarist1985 6 років тому

      Short Circuited Brewers i figured as much for removing the spring, makes sense. 16 tap setup is some mad $$$ so just doing 8 for the first round. Intertap looks perfect versatility at around $18/tap (not stainless) and like $12-14 for the add on attachments.

      Another question Brian, Intertap said I need to use their shanks to utilize their return spring, is this not the case? you were able to force the spring in a standard shank it looks like?

      Any personal thoughts on Chrome plated brass version vs SS? I mean Stainless is better overall i'd imagine for bars etc but for the casual homebrewer? The brass version is $20. Also- does the spring work with any shank? I am not sure which one I have it's been years since I bought it.

    • @ShortCircuitedBrewers
      @ShortCircuitedBrewers  6 років тому +1

      The only "issue" with the chrome (and I can tell you first hand from previous faucets) The chrome does eventually get eaten away be the beer and cleaners and you are left with whatever the layer is underneath. In a typical chrome plating process it is either brass or nickel. How quickly this happens has a lot to do with how often you use the faucet. some say it does impart an off flavor to the beer. I don't have any facts to back that up. BUT if you have beer sitting in brass for a few hours or even days I could see how it would pick up some kind of off flavor. A bonus to stainless is it is easier to clean as well. As for the spring, They fit my stock standard tower shanks. YMMV Great question! Thanks for commenting! 🍻

    • @GratefulRob
      @GratefulRob 6 років тому

      That's odd since there are MANY brass faucets with no plating out there. If that's the case I'll save the money and get the chrome plated brass version.
      As for the spring...meh...it's $2. I'll roll the dice. HAHA
      By the way- are these made in USA?

    • @ShortCircuitedBrewers
      @ShortCircuitedBrewers  6 років тому +1

      Rob Evans like I said I have no data to back up those flavor statements, nor are they my own. They are sold by keg king out of Australia. I am not for sure where they are made. 🍻
