Who let me out of the kitchen?! Enjoy a little penny floor timelapse 😀 My one regret: no cat design

- My next penny floor will definitely incorporate some feline design elements 🤗 A real missed opportunity here!
If you care to see details on how I renovated this powder bathroom with a DIY penny floor, feel free to check out my previous shorts showcasing the process (or ask away in the comments)!
Can't imagine how long this must've taken, but boy does it look like it was worth it. This looks like a luxurious 1920s hotel floor. I'm drooling.
Thank you so much! That’s actually the exact inspiration I had in mind when making this, so it’s so funny you should mention that! I appreciate you watching 😊
I was thinking the same thing! Not to mention I just watched a clip from Downton Abbey! Lol
You're right, it does! ❤
I just want to know the cost.
@@anonymouse867.. it was pennies on the dollar... 😂
Price point per square foot is cost effective and the high end quality from labor is priceless! Great job.
The use of the different shades and the corrosion is brilliant, and keeping it spaced so perfectly throughout the entire thing is impressive af. Looks stunning.
They’re so perfect. She did a great job, the distinct different colours remain uniform throughout the pattern! 😮
Love your name
Right?! The perfection of the spaces and everything is so amazing to me!❤❤❤
@@juleslund1515 thanks
How many pennies did it take?
Some of those could be worth a lot. As a coin collector this bothers me, but as an art lover i love it. I’ve never been so conflicted over a video in my life 🤣.
Same
She didn't use any valuable coins she's not that dumb
@ i would hope not, but a lot of people don’t check the dates on their coins or even know what to look for in coins to know their value. A penny isn’t just always worth 1 cent.
I checked every single penny before applying it, actually 😊 I kept a small bowl full of ones that were even a tiny bit unique lol
@ thank you 👏🏽
I don't why people hate penny floors the opportunity for the patterns and designs are endless. I love them
Agree!
Because they cost the US Mint more than a penny to produce
It's also illegal to take that many coins out of circulation
@@HailstonepiePer què?
Keep the house in the family over time (idk how much) it could be worth a lot just because of the floor....perhaps
It's like bedazzling a water bottle lol. I wonder how you would even plan something like this, absolutely fascinating. It came out gorgeous.
@@Lunar_DeBrie haha I love the water bottle imagery 😁 thank you for the awesome compliment! It took a lot of penny acquiring, sorting of colors, figuring out patterns I liked, and the worst part: math lol. I also did a dry run going across the width of the floor before officially glueing them down to see if spacing would work, etc. A little bit of trial and error!
It is absolutely stunning...classic, gorgeous!!
@brittanytangen.fineart It's absolutely gorgeous!😍
I would love to have someone do this in my half bath!!
Sadly, I don't have the time or the ability to sit on the floor that long anymore. I'd be afraid I'd get stuck and wouldn't be able to get up off the floor. 😂🤦🏼♀️
But I would totally pay someone else to do it!💯😄
Did you do sth to make the ckean ones even cleaner? In some shots they look like new & very even.
If you didnt need to good for you! The smell of cents is quite revolting to me ( but I have worked with corpses as an embalmer with no issue lol).
@@lyvsixI don’t like the smell of coins either but I’m sensitive to all sorts of strong scents. (No pun intended.) Copper coins I hate touching them. The floor looks great though and I doubt you can smell it after it’s had resin or whatever poured over it.
Spectacular!....I love your design, very elegant looking , changes ones perspective on a penny laying on the floor...
Chefs kiss. Some people shouldn’t do DIY, and some people should! That’s you. You should.
Haha that’s a high honor to receive! Thank you for the compliment!
I don't know how you formed the beautiful pattern, you are very determined. I can't believe Elmer's glue held them in place. The whole floor is exquisite. ❤
She covered it in resin afterwards
@@chandlerbingbong5773oh okay good cuz I was sitting here like that Elmer's glue ain't gonna hold for long 😅
The way that the dirty pennies were used so strategically for the design…it scratches my autism so nicely. Thank you for this
I really grew to appreciate the ways penny production has changed throughout the decades! The difference in material, the ways they patina-it was super fun! Thanks for the comment 😊
@@brittanytangen.fineartbefore 1982 the pennies were made from mostly copper giving them a brownish color, after 1982 they were mostly zinc and more copper colored! You can also tell the difference by dropping the penny . Zinc will clink and copper will ring!
@@christinag3142that’s why copper Pennie’s are worth more.
Omg i am 53 and when I was like 20 I had a dream I was doing this, that’s the only reason I had to stop and comment, like 23 years ago,I remember the dream. Nice job, looks perfect.
Don’t you mean 33 yrs ago? 😂
You have the patience of a saint. Very good job 👏👏👏. I'd send my head through the wall, lol.
Wow so cool! I get a middle eastern feeling. Beautiful😍
Thank you so much! You’re right, the pattern does give off kind of a Moroccan vibe 😀
Now that is pinching pennies!😅 we loved watching the process and it's a stunning result 🥰🫶🏼🩵🔥
True depiction of "trust the process." Absolutely gorgeous!
That’s what I was trying to tell myself as I was in the middle of it all, holding my breath 😁 thank you so much for the compliment!
I would never have the patience for this!! Good job!! Another comment said it looks like a vintage hotel carpet and I agree! Love it!
My OCD would drive me crazy trying to do this! But, its perfect!! Absolutely stunning!! I would love to have this!! 🤎
Spectacular! The pattern is stunning.🥰 I want to hire you to do this in my bathroom. 😊 Gorgeous! 💕
At least you know you got some spare change somewhere when crap hits the fan 😅
@@coleworld4385 haha for sure, with a little elbow grease involved! 😁
When Ingenuity and creativity made persistence and patience, positive things are going to going to happen. I do custom one off pieces of furniture and can totally appreciate the effort that went into this. Totally enjoyed watching the video. Thank you.
I cant resist making this one...
"it was worth every penny"😂
Love the vintage gold Tupperware and finished floor
Wow!! That's amazing and good for you for having the patience to finish that masterpiece!! Beautiful!
Then. When it's complete and you are standing back, admiring the beauty of your creation, you notice that one penny is on tails!!😂
Wish I could like this a million times. Beautiful, amazing job.
I'm floored! (lol) No, but seriously, this is stunning!
😅 I can appreciate a solid pun! Thanks for your two cents!
This is so nostalgic for some reason, the music, the method , just pure vibes!!
I'm a tiler and I know how expensive it is to tile a floor... But. F.F.S This is the pinical of floors .. BUITYFUL job. ❤❤
I’ve heard of penny tile but I’ve never heard of PENNY tile
@FaithConiglio I like to take things to a literal level 😁
thanks for the fun comment, Faith!
That lady is a breathtaking floor...literally one of the prettiest things ive seen ❤
Jetzt ist für mich die Frage beantwortet : " Wohin mit dem Geld, was ich zu viel habe!?" 😂
Es sieht aber wunderbar aus! 👍
I love penny floors. I need to do this in my house somewhere.
I just wouldn't have the patience or coordination. My hats off to you and it turned out beautiful.❤
Great job!!!! We did this like 10 yr ago!!! So worth the work. We used a glaze top, love it so much ❤it’s so unique ❤
Imyso glad that you're almost finished with your floor it's absolutely stunning! E6000 craft glue would have probably worked better... I'm surprised that nobody suggested it to you! I've had your video pop up several times and it has turned out absolutely beautiful! 💞💕
I would think anything would be better than Elmer’s glue but idk I’ve never done it.
Imagine getting done and saying “I don’t like it” this made my brain hurt imagining this process. The patience and talent is insane!
I hope Brian feels better soon! 🙏
Always wanted to do this. This is much nicer that what i was thinking; came out really nice.
To be honest I'm very judgemental about videos on UA-cam. This one is freaking awesome I love that outcome. It's beautiful
Same
Dang girl! This is beautiful!! Must have taken forever and a day
This is gorgeous! Great job❤. Id never have the patience lol.
Damn! This is awesome and insane. My brain needs time to grasp this 😮😮😮!
Haha I love reading this 😄 thank you so very much!
Nice copper floor!! Spectacular work there!!
VERY impressive.
The eye-hand coordination, WOW!
The result? Perfection.
Congratulations
I hope you checked every one of those to make sure they weren’t a rare one worth hundreds of thousands of dollars 😂
What I really wanna know is how long this took! Amazing 😻
@@nicholawagg4510 thank you so much for the kind words! It took me a couple months from start to finish, but it could’ve been done a lot more efficiently if I had childcare haha
Beautiful. (Palmolive orange cleans copper beautifully)
My parents own a cafe and my sisters and mom and I did this to the floors. It looks so good!
Wow 😲 so cool. There's no way i have the patience.🥰
All of my praises to your dedication and care put into this project! Not only is it just a cool idea, but the fact that you completed it already blows my mind, and the way you managed to make a pattern with the different colored and aged pennies is astounding! Very well done!
Thank you so much for the meaningful feedback! I figured if I was going to do it, I was going to go “all in” 😊 I appreciate the kind words!
Beautiful!
And just this morning i actually said to a cashier - i dont know whatll become of the pennies ❤
Un sol "riche" en couleurs ! ☺️
Magnifique ✨👌
Merci pour le partage d'idées 😁🤘...
Il risultato è spettacolare!
Absolutely stunning! ❤ how much did this cost in coins??!!
Awesome idea right there.. I’d love to see what it looks like with only fine shined pennies.
This is crazy!! And beautiful. I love it
Thank you!
Is this a theft from the treasury? 😂
Ingenious and beautiful❤
Much admiration. Our local Coffee Shop did this to their floor and a restaurant (The Copper Penny) on their countertop where customers dinned. I always wanted to eat at the counter instead of a booth, sitting mesmerized, looking at the dates on those little pennies.
Your floor beats them all!❤ Thanks for sharing!
Wooooooow it’s amazing ❤in Italy is impossible having this floor 😅 is illegal use money for decoration 😅but is very very beautiful idea!! In my country, especially in the past, this decoration was made by concrete, the name of this art is cementina
Wow, excellent planning and execution to pull that design off!
When puzzlers turn their hobby into a profession... Amazing!😲
Brilliant ! Love it - but how do you keep it clean? Is there a sealer?
Thank you! And yes, it’s completely sealed in epoxy resin. I actually posted a couple short videos outline the process right before this one, in case you’re curious :)
Thank goodness it was sealed. When I saw you using Elmer's glue, I thought all that beautiful work is going to come off within a few days.
Wow. Now THAT is commitment. Plz tell us how long this took. And I freakin’ love this !!!!!!!❤
This floor turned out stunning!!
I needed to see this. I was stuck on an idea and you inspired me.
@@debradoo4448 that’s the best feedback to read! I hope whatever you have planned turns out masterfully!
Wow!! So glad your creation made its way to my life! Bravo!! Don't stop!!
Haha thank you! The kind comments like yours are so refreshing to read after some of the crazy ones 😊 I appreciate it!
My parents wanted to do this in our front hall. They collected all the pennies they could find. Never happened.
I admire the vision, though! The process is kind of overwhelming, so I can’t really blame them haha
My back hurts watching this but my goodness it turned out amazing!!
First of all WOWOW!!
Second the pattern is absolutely stunning! Beautiful work!!
This is sooo beautiful as art❤ great job 👍
I'll bet it was cheaper per square foot than tile! 😅 It's STUNNING! 🤩
I think so! Lol. $86 in pennies, $200 in epoxy resin, plus cement board, grout, and glue. Not too shabby!
This is so Victorian looking I love it
Omggg that looks sooo amazing!!
@@173_nora7 thank you! I’m so glad you like it!
Don't know if you use this term where you are, but in the UK, saying 'spend a penny', means go to the loo, so this is a great place for a penny floor!
Me as a coin collector horrified at the thought that these weren't thoroughly checked for rare or mis prints
I was also wondering if it’s a legal issue defacing currency?
I analyzed every single penny before placing it down 🙂 I have a bowl full of ones that were even somewhat different
@@kiwik2951this isn’t considered defacement
@@brittanytangen.fineart that is awesome, I love this kind of art but my collector heart has anxiety lol
Looks beautiful.
1933 pennies are worth a lot.
How many dollars you got on your floors now?
(Also, I too would’ve regretted not doing a cat design)
@@BAdtnl about $86 worth! I’m glad to hear you’re a fellow appreciator of the felines 😁
And you’re never truly broke- you always have the bathroom floor! Lol
Haha a rainy day fund!
This was such a trend in the 90s and I always loved it. Nice to see it return.
How did you seal this?
It's truly fantastic. I usually dislike d.i.y. makeovers, this one is sublime. Xx
1) What glue is best?
2) What’s the top coat?
It’s beautiful 👌✨🪙
Страхотно стана!!!Отнема доста време,но си заслужава.БРАВО!!!
That's work right there but my God it looks amazing!!!
That's gorgeous!! I wish id thought of that before they got rid of pennies in Canada.
Qué paciencia y que gran trabajo ❤
That is amazing, few people would take the time for such dedication. That's just my 2 cents 😅
Absolutely stunning! But culturally I wince at money on the floor, stepping on it (Lakshmi) and near the toilet 🚽. But stunning artistically
I would fear stepping my feet on this masterpiece...really amazing
Hope they have another bathroom through that! Beautiful!
Splendida idea, complimenti, molto bello ❤
Wow lady. How the freak.
Freaking beautiful.
Duuuuude! That is AWESOME!!!❤❤❤
I LOVE IT!❤❤❤
Absolutely gorgeous. And I was proud of myself for just tiling my bathroom. Lol.
That is definitely something to commend! 😀 Tiling of any sort is quite the project!
That turned out so awe-inspiring!! Just beautiful!!
That’s awesome. I could never do it because I would definitely give up. But it’s awesome.
That is the BEST use of pennies I have ever seen. Brilliant and beautifully!
….i could never. I’d forever have an unfinished floor 😂
So beautiful, and I love the camera angles that show the pattern
For as long as I can remember I wanted to do this! Some day I will. Awesome, my sister in pennies! 🎉
That came out really beautiful!
