    Nick, nice one. Regular as clockwork driven by gymnastics.
    I'm away for a few days so people will be cheering my commentary absence.
    1) LoR seem to have lifted the SW barrel-cladding much faster than we have experienced so far. It's good to know that they can do so. They must have 2 "under-the-hook" jigs on site now, IF they are still continuing on the SE corner at the same time. So, that may explain the larger inventory of the sections on site just now, as the tempo his being raised.
    2) You can see that they have added the last full standard shaped cladding section to the very, very, SE corner of the SE stretch, (from the inside, which will be out of view in the future when the window coving is added) even if they still have to add the others up to the SE Expansion Gap.
    3) The contractors on the middle of the South Stand roof are probably laying the walkway that needs to be added to the centre spine of the roof (N-to-S).
    4) I wonder how far away we are from seeing them start installing the Solar Array on the South Stand roof now.
    5) You missed mentioning the Lower Promenade Terracing that has been added on that front lip of the West Concourse, which was overlooked, understandably due to the focus of digging in the Water Channel area. It was interesting to see the extent of the concrete bed under the Lower Promenade. As your informer said, I believe they still have to dig down to insert a seacant wall along that front edge.
    Cheers and adieu.

    The low shot from halfway across the Mersey was beautiful.

    Re the barrel cladding sections. I have seen wagons bringing them up the M6 almost every day last week, at least three loads, so they fit a load and obviously get replenished.

    Hi Nick, great video going across the Mersey, to the stadium, it will look amazing at night time with all the lights on. In your previous video you mentioned that you might video the walk from Goodison to Bramley Moore.
    I walked into town after the Brentford game and the view of the new stadium is amazing from ground level.
    Thanks for all your great work.

    I was surprised that they didn't construct the cofferdam with steel sheet piling from the start, before they started filling up the whole dock with sand.

    Thanks Nick, loving the shots from the Mersey. Managed to get a paving stone on the Everton way yesterday. Missed out on the first applications and now it has sold out again. Does anyone know how many of these have been purchased? There is another waiting list started apparently.

    Great stuff again Nick, thank you. A few things please...
    1. Do you think they will give the dock wall a good cleaning? It has probably never been cleaned in its life but a good pressure washing would deffo enhance the look of the stadium from passing ships if it was given a good old fashioned wash behind the ears. Only your trip over from Wallasey brings this to attention but I think its a fair point.
    2. Aren't you scared about an Orca, a flying fish or a dolphin jumping up and grabbing your drone when you fly that low? Even hump backed whales can get out of the water a fair bit.
    3. You would probably get a bit miffed if people called you Nicks so please refer to the neighboring dock as Nelson and not Nelson's. He's got feelings ya know?!
    4. Do you have June 3rd etched in on your calendar? The Queen Anne is arriving at sunrise for her Naming Ceremony and I'm sure you will catch some cracking footage.

    Hi Nick brilliant video from this side!
    Just a couple of questions to ask if that’s ok?
    Do you or anyone else know what kind of depth the water in front of the west plaza steps is going to end up being ?
    Also not related to this site but the ferry terminal you’ve been covering !
    What happened to the video you put up on the inside of it but then was taken down ?
    Thanks Dave C👍

      1.5 - 2.1 metres deep. Relatively shallow. I can’t take any credit for that stat, Mr Badcock posted it recently

    Surely it would make sense not to fill it with water again? Losing a massive piece of land that could be put to good use

      EFC must create a water channel because it’s a condition of the planning permission. Historic England and the Environment Agency requested this feature to connect Sandon and Nelson docks.

    • @davidbadcock2225
      @davidbadcock2225 21 день тому +4

      cdb: The planners rejected the initial designs that overloaded both the West Quay and the West Plaza with full brick facade height and a multi-storey car park, so they had to pull back from the condensed use of the western side. The compromise was the Terrace which affords protection and a great viewing platform instead.
      It's necessary, engineering-wise, to allow the water to be linked and pressures balanced, quite beside the requirements of the dock authorities and Heritage Stakeholders. Sure, one could put in pipes and pumps but the site is meant to be as green and sustainable as possible, so a passive link between Sandon and Nelson Docks is preferable. The Water Channel will add 'ambience'.

  • @frandy1774
    @frandy1774 21 день тому +1

    Why is the water feature so deep?

    • @sparkymark68
      @sparkymark68 21 день тому +1

      It's returning the channel to what it was pre - construction

    • @DuncTheBlue1878
      @DuncTheBlue1878 21 день тому +1

      The water channel will be shallower than Sandon Dock and Nelson Dock

    • @davidbadcock2225
      @davidbadcock2225 21 день тому +1

      Frandy: that depends on what you think is deep or not. The water in the channel will be between 3.8 - 4.6m above sea level, depending on tides etc (i.e. the level of the Mersey on the other side of the Mersey Wall, with the water depth itself being between 1.5 - 2.1m deep.
