Bol is situated on the southern part of the island Brac, and is the oldest town on the coast of Brac. This little town was founded long ago and became an extraordinary tourist oasis because of the wide gravel and sandy beaches which expands over 10 km and the sources of drinking water. It is not possible to avoid the Zlatni rat, certainly the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic sea, whose cape is turning one moment to one side and the other moment to the other side playing a strange game with the wind and the waves.
Above Bol is rising the coronet of Bols hills, the illlyrian fortress Kostilo (660 m) and the Vidova gora (778 m), the highest top of the Adriatic islands. Bol is only 15 km away from the international tourist and sports airport "Brac", and excellent connected with the fast lines to the coast, but also with a ferry- line from Supetar.
Bol actually has a lot to offer to everyone. You can relax at the beach and get some tan, or you can be active as much as you like. Outdoor activities in Bol include hiking, scuba diving, windsurfing, kite surfing, quad rides, sightseeing (museums, galleries, traditional architecture), para-sailing, banana and tube rides, water skiing, free climbing and much more.
Bol also offer wide variety of restaurants and bars for you to choose from. Most restaurants offer local and Mediterranean specialties, most popular being ‘Lamb on a spit’ and ‘Octopus under Peka’. If you like trying different food you should definitely try ‘Vitalac’ which is a dish authentic to island Brac.
Bol has a lot to offer accommodation wise. First of all, there are four large hotels, many small family owned hotels and also vast selection of private self-catering apartments in Bol for you to choose from. Hotels in Bol offer all inclusive or half board service, with two hotels offering many activities, animation and wellness centers. Bluesun hotel Elaphusa has huge wellness that covers 3000 square meters and all the water inside is sea water (swimming pool, three Jacuzzi and treatment baths). Four major hotels in Bol ( Three Bluesun hotels: Elaphusa 4*, Borak 3* and Bonaca 3* all inclusive family hotel, and Hotel Bretanide 3* all inclusive) are located half way from Bol center to Zlatni rat beach, by the promenade, all close to the sea. Most hotels have minimum stay of 3+ nights, but you can also stay one to three nights with extra payment of 30% daily rate.

Thanks AA. 😃
@@DelightfulTravellers I need to add that your video inspired me going to Brac, and it ended up being my favourite part of Croatia's trip in the Dalmatian Coast (and my partner's too!). When trying to decide which island to go, Hvar was the most popular but your video made me choose Brac instead due to how calm it was. I definitely like the fact you don't only show and explore the 'hot spots' but you are able to find awesome hidden gems (many times even better especially due to the absence of crowds) and get the local experience to the fullest!
I even made a very amateur video compilation with short videos of a smart phone, and that was my first video uploaded on my channel I'm gonna buy a decent camera (I promise!) and start doing some good videos on my travelling as a hobby to make them alive on my channel. ua-cam.com/video/w9ZCAY8Hox8/v-deo.html
And yesterday I even uploaded my second one :D
Thanks for being an inspiration!
Today I'm going at Bol
I really liked your video. You captured the atmosphere of Bol so well. Next time you are in Croatia, come to Primosten. You'll love it
It's nice hearing that we captured the vibe well. I knew when we got to editing this video it had to capture that. It's such a charming town. We're looking up Primosten now! Thanks for watching. Hvar is next! - Trevor
3:16 those are Mediterranean cypress, usually planted on cemeteries here, but you can find them around also.
Another male lover was Cyparissus, a descendant of Heracles. Apollo gave him a tame deer as a companion but Cyparissus accidentally killed it with a javelin as it lay asleep in the undergrowth. Cyparissus asked Apollo to let his tears fall forever. Apollo granted the request by turning him into the Cypress named after him, which was said to be a sad tree because the sap forms droplets like tears on the trunk.
Ah thanks so much. We should have had you in the video! :) - Trevor
Going in two weeks CANT WAIT!!!
Love the video!
Thanks for watching! It's such a great island right? - T
Bravo!!!
Thx! 😃- Anna
I love you! :D Amazing video! Greetings from Bol :-)
We love you too :D hehe.. Honestly Bol is heaven on earth to us. You'll see us again on that island for sure. - Anna
Very nice
thanks for watching 😀
Since you've been so amazed that Croatia can produce fine wines, here is few wine fun facts about Croatia.
There is around 450 grape varieties in Croatia, (for comparison, there is around 150 of them in France).
Californian Zinfandel is actually also originally from Croatia, its name is actually Crljenak Kaštelanski (wonder why that name never became popular in USA? 😀).
First time that wines from outside of France won in a blind tasting, called 'The judgement of Paris' happened I think in 1976.
It was American wines from California, and person that played one of most important roles in wine movement there was a man called Mike Grgich, who is also Croatian.
Sorry about my Croenglish but I hope you will understand what I meant.
Greetings from a Croat temporarily working in Copenhagen, Denmark!
Such great info Ivan. 450 Grapes.. no way? Who knew Croatia was such a big wine country. Your Croenglish was spot on btw 👌 - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers there is so many of them because Croatia 'behind Velebit mountain' is a different country.
By the sea side it's as you noticed scorched Mediterranean, pine trees, islands, rocks and mountains.
And on the other side it's hills, big oak and beech forests, plains...and also different weather. It's hot in the summer, but in the winter you get proper snow and bone chilling temperatures almost every year.
Architecture and cuisine is also different, it would probably remind you of Austria or some other middle european country.
And of course, wines are different too. Something like; by the sea it's red and here it's more whites.
There is some tourism going on in the capital, Zagreb but the rest of that part is virtually 'tourist free' zone, and accordingly much cheaper.
If you ever wish to experience some of it I would recommend Varaždin, Osijek, Plitvička Jezera....
Hakuna Matata!
Brac is amazing. The best island in the world !
Lovely, a real pleasure to watch, you’re naturals at this! We love Croatia and Brac is now next on our list, thank you! ❤️
Thanks Helen 😃 Honestly this place is one of our favourites. We so love it. Enjoy! - Anna
Hi travellers, nice video! Which time of the year have you been there?
June! 😀
Pretty places in Croatia.
I'm from there but living in Quebec now. It's about -18C here now.
I went here its awesome
Going to Bol in June, 3rd time we have been here. June is a really nice time to visit 25/30 c not to busy. July / August it's really crammed and very hot. There is more than pizza to eat, but it is chilled it's our favorite island .. Hvaar, Jelsa are both worth a visit as well.
You don't need walk from the town to the beach in the summer there is a water taxi across the bay. It's also worth noting once you get to zlatini rat beach , carry on round and those beaches are all nudist so don't get your camera out or pruddie if you go that way.
One of the things I really like is the cleanliness of the island, and you can drink the water , even from the public fountain. All in all it's a really chilled island.
Thanks Peter. (spoiler: this was shot in June) so we so know about how chill it is. We went there for that reason in low season. Up next is Hvar actually. Stay tuned.. hoping to have that out by Thursday! - T😃
NAJLEPŠE, NAJBOLJE MESTO NA BRAČU,DALMACIJI SVETU.VOLEO BI DA SAM ROĐEN U NJEMU. B O L

I’m staying their rn, itssss sooo hottt but amazing
Oh how fun. We'd love to be back there again. I can't imagine how hot it is this time of year - Trevor
Also fun fact , the shape of the beach actually changes according to sea currents.
What a great little fun fact. It's such a unique shape. There can't be too many like it. - Trevor
I live here in Bol,and yeah it's really nice😍😍but on winter it a little bit boring bc you don't have what to do,but it's pretty nice.❤❤Btw this video is amazing❤
That means we'll have to always go back in the summer then. 😉Thanks for watching Lucija - Anna
That pizza looks yum. Pizza and a view anytime. shame it rained.
It was delicious. Bummer about the rain but that forced us into the winery which was stellar. 👌 - A
it rains like 30 times in the whole year
cypress trees are around cemeteries in Croatia.
Im from croatia
croatia♡♡♡♡
Do they have fireworks display by the beaches or promenade in Bol every night in summer?
They didn't have those when we were there no - Anna
I wonder how it will w in August! Was this filmed in January?
It will be very warm in August. Similar to this - Anna
Hi! - what camera do you use in this VLOG? :-)
We use a Canon G7X for all our videos :) - Trevor
Isn’t that the beach that changes shape? The V you showcased changes to more like a U or something.
Thank you for the great video.. We will visit Makarska on the main land just near the islands in July for 10 days and we will venture over to the islands for a couple of trips... Is it best to take a car to the islands or is getting around easy..???
We took a ferry to each island but on the main land rented a car. That worked great for us. - Trevor
Mate Ive been to Australia Seven times from Australia. You can do without a car on the islands especially if you go to Hvar, Vis or Korcula. I would recommend hiring a scooter if you want to venture a little outside the towns though as that is a lot of fun. Most old towns are car free so very walkable. One hidden treasure for me is the town of Pucisca on the island of Brac . The towns of Milna together with Bol which is covered here are also very nice in summer. I personally think a two week trip to Split and the islands is good to do as one trip to Croatia and then a second two week trip where you Drive up the coastline to Places like Dubrovnik, Makarska, Primosten, Sibenik, Murter island connected by bridge and the surrounding Kornati archipalago, Zadar, Opatilja, Mali Losinj, Rovinj.
Dan Bac thanks for the advice... Booked a ten day trip with Makarska as a base... July/August 2018. Will try and spend more time on the islands like hvar and brač, also like to get to vis if its possible.. Thank you for the advice.. After seeing loads on UA-cam this weekend, I'm already really excited to visit :)
I have a feeling I won't want to leave!!!
come Antalya Kaş bro
We were already there ha.. videos are on our channel - Anna
On 0:29 i maybe been down there on Bol
Whan was thsi filmed?
June.. we're slightly behind but now catching back up to real time. Nice place right? - T
Great video... you are really a nice couple.. have you been in Island Mljet...?
Thank you. No we haven't been there but we're coming back. We adored the country and want to see a whole lot more of it. - Anna
what time of the year did you go? thinking of doing a babymoon from Nov 27-Dec4
We were there at the end of May. It would be a lot colder around Nov-Dec - Anna
What time of year did you visit?
Early June ✌️- Trevor
Actually, entire White House was built out of this white stone from the island of Brač. Just a fun fact :)
No way! Wish we knew that before filming. Thanks for watching. - T
no its not.. dont believe everything and do proper research
Big Trillin I think it is.... White stone from Brač is well now for some amazing art buildings in the Europe and world
Markec smotanec well there you have it. you “think” it is. I “KNOW” it isn’t...
Big Trillin .. you "KNOW" are you sure ? .. have you ever heard about village Pučišća, on island Brač .. I don't think so ... never mind just read this: www.news-herald.com/article/HR/20101017/NEWS/310179993
I live there
Hi there! What month did you visit Bol? Thanks
rhiababesuk Early June 👌
Great! I was wondering coz I just booked our next hols in April, hotel at Supetar. Would you be be happy to advise regarding transport links and how long from Supetar to Bol? And can we see Bol plus the Zlatni Rat in half a day? Cheers! X
during what month were you there? Of all the islands you visited, which ones you fell in love with, which ones you thought you could skip? I am planning my own island itinerary. thanks.
Early June. This and Vis are the islands we liked the most. Bol was probably our fav though - Anna
@@DelightfulTravellers thsnk you !

The start of summer! - Anna
Hey im Hana I live in Bol
Hi Hana! :)
Hi

It's safe to say we 100% agree. 😀- Anna
Hi Guys, which did you prefer, Llafranc in Spain, Bol in Croatia or Naxos? Which is your undisputed favourite and why ? Many Thanks
Well those are about the 3 hardest choices to choose from. Maybe Bol as we really like quieter islands (if you hook it in shoulder season). There's different reasons to love all 3 really - Anna
What month did you visit Croatia? What is the name of the beach you are at?
Right around this time of year. The name of the beach is in the description ✌️ - Trevor
0:58 Look at that water and the old chair, oh and the tires....
Just one info. The White House in Washington was built from stones originated from island Brac.
Thanks for the fact Dario. Someone else mentioned that to us as well. If we had of known, we would of brought it up. That's a great little fact. - Trevor
Croatian beaches is the same what in Italy just 2x all is cheeper..
fun fact - Bol translated in english means pain
The only pain you'll encounter in Bol is leaving it. Seriously! ;) - Anna
Créme de la Créme Hahahaha yupp it is good translation,🇭🇷🇭🇷 is perfect,if you love war and everything about it,you can go to Croatia-Slavonia(Vukovar),my city Vukovar is City of Heros because of Homeland war,in that war Croatia won because of mission's Bljesak(flash)and Oluja(Storm)in which we chased away the Serbs back to their Serbia...🙌🏼👌🏼
Saška Jokić uff always some idiot
That.. uhmm those mountains in the background is actually an island of Hvar. Just fyi
Good to know thanks
Can we go with a car to this beach on the End of the video, 20 min walk is kind of long walk with kids :)
I think there might be a way by car actually. Just not the way we went. :) - Anna
I am a swed and 25% croat we have a house in Brela
We just looked Brela up. Wow.. it looks like a dream like the rest of Croatia. There's a reason it's our favourite country! 😃- Anna
@@DelightfulTravellers ik but too much polish and czechs
Apparently the US White House was build from the white stones imported from this Croatian island of Brac. www.plavi-horizont.hr/en/article/17/brac-the-white-house-was-built-from-the-stones-originated-from-brac
Btw did you go to house in the house
We're not sure what you mean. House in the house? - Trevor
Thats what its called
Were that bar Marinero is and then you go up and turn to left and then again up
Thats a nice place :)
Hrvatska🇭🇷
Your favorite island on the world is ready for you to learn how to spell its name.
Give it until July and it is packed to the rafters
From that white stone White House is made in the US.
Yes we've heard that since we posted this. Such a cool fact! - Trevor
Nonsense, the town's name has nothing to do with 'pain'! The name comes from 'vallum' (short: vall), what is in latin: wall (of the roman camp), fortification. In the roman times the place was important as the marble was sent to Split from the harbor.
Kako da domoljubi ne znaju da Bol dolazi od latinskog vallum, vall - zid, utvrda. Tu je bila rimska luka odakle se slao kamen za gradnju Splita.
why you take photo of my friend house
1:44 The White House was built with the white stone from Brac whfoodscruise.com/destinations/brac/
Amazing. We love the white houses there! - Anna
Yeah they are beautiful aren't they. But I was talking about the White House in Washington. It was built with the white stone from Brac, too ;)
Oh! Wow we didn't know that. We would have mentioned it if so. That's a long way to go for those white stones. - T
Yeah it's been very in demand for a long time. Check the link out that I inserted above :)
check my Primosten video out of you want to :) vimeo.com/231935684
MUSIC ISN'T NECESSARY AT ALL, PLEASE!
Fun fact stones from Brač helped to build The White House!
Such a cool fact!
Stop spreading misinformation, please... There is literally not a single Brač stone in White House.
Bol is actually quite boring. And the food on Brac is nothing special.
But Brac is a very beautiful island.
Maarten Anthonissen we found it to be the complete opposite. Your version of boring is our type of place clearly - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers different flavours. I must say Bea and the nearby island of Hvar are very beatiful.
Btw I love your videos. I already git some Nice tips for possible destinations from your channel!
Keep up the good work!

"Zlatni rat" is on english "golden war"
