LMAO, that ending. I was actually expecting a demonstration. The way how the whole video was so serious and informative, that the surprise punchline hit way harder. Legit took me a couple seconds to process what just happened. Hilarious
The UK, or really any country, should be on their knees begging this brilliant young man to be the supreme commander of their military. For millennia, and almost certainly until the end of the human race, every military strategist before him will collectively be seen as merely the least significant part of a prologue to the legacy of Hippie. Even those who come after him, and only the very best among them, will be considered mere footnotes to the footnotes of _his_ own works. I tremble before the genius of Hippie. Even though no other human on Earth, besides Hippie himself, can recognize even a tiny fraction of his intelligence, wisdom, and sheer brainpower, all we can do is appreciate a mere glimpse of the vast ocean of wisdom he graciously shares with us-a small part of the infinite depth of his intellect, for he has only revealed what he chooses to share with us, and not even the full expanse of his potential. How can a human be this good? How is he _so_ good? I yearn to know, as tears of joy stream from my eyes. But then, as I realize I will never truly grasp even the smallest fraction of Hippie’s vast and magnificent existence, those tears of joy turn into tears of sorrow. Yet, just as quickly, I understand that I should still be grateful for the wisdom he does share with us. My tears stop, and in that moment, my vision becomes a little clearer-though it is only an infinitesimal addition to the infinitesimal understanding I already had. Hippie, truly, is one of the WARNO players of all time.
@Hippie is demonstrating the principal of attacking from the sun by having natural light at his back while recording. This is not a studio layout problem; it's good tactics.
Haven't play this game for a while and this is definitely a good review of all these combined arms. Wondering where can I see more *advanced tutorial* videos like this!
Good video sir, I think it’d also be really helpful to see the theory applied in a game where you are dealing with opponent actions. A lot of your videos already have moment by moment commentary but I think it’s also be helpful in a more formal break-down like this looking at theoretical tactics in real game situations.
Epic vid. RTS was something I didn't grow up playing so am a chronic amateur. Offensive stuff is definitely where I've always been weakest, it's like I'm not clear on what to do or how to keep my momentum & act aggressively
Thank you for this, but I’m still struggling after I dropped the Nuke the Tow 2 team did not die and it routed both my tanks even tho they both shot at it after nuke
Pre-sighting your arty is probably the best method for dealing with tanks and atgm spam if you know what path they are taking before hand, I use it all the time.
Hello! Please make some video about tips and tricks like your show with artillery, i have played 500h+ in WARNO and didn't know that, that will be very useful. Thanks!
Eugene crying in corner about their conventional warfare game getting converted into tactical nuclear warfare game. Also explain the moment of panic when you werent sure you set it to return fire
Infantry are key. Boots on the ground have always been what everything else revolves around. Everything else in one's arsenal is a tool to help the infantry do their job. Tanks are often put under the 'armoured spearhead' name, but this is generally wishful thinking. A tank's best use-case is simply as a threat. "You had better invest in anti-tank weapons or else!" The meer presence of tanks forces the enemy to dilute his defense by investing in specific anti-tank weapons - resources that would otherwise go towards his own infantry, or things better at dealing with yours! Tanks fall into the role of fire-support more often than not, and are a useful tool in picking off specific targets like IFVs if you can get a good angle. You want to position tanks on your flanks, out in space, where they have good sight lines and the ability to quickly engage IFVs and such. IFVs and APCs are generally fire support. They are a battle taxi really - drive your troops close enough so as to get into action quickly. Autocannons are good for taking out the enemy infantry they can see, but that's about their limit of effectiveness. They can function as point-blank AA defense against helicopters too, in a pinch. You want to position them so as to fire over-head of your infantry - their job is to fight that front-line defense that your infantry is running towards. Artillery broadly splits into two categories; precision and saturation. Precision artillery is good for attacking specific units such as ATGM teams in buildings. Precision artillery is also good for smoke. This is your destructive artillery option - usually 152mm howitzers and mortars and such. Saturation artillery has a different purpose - in attack, it's use case is degredation of the enemy. These are your grads and buratinos and such. You shouldn't really expect these to kill anything, but rather they are very good for suppressing and cohesion-breaking on a wide area. These are best employed against obvious enemy positions where they might concentrate forces, and especially against the area you're attacking into - the damage to cohesion will make the difference for your infantry. Do not forget AA defences. You need SHORAD, usually MANPADs like Stingers or Iglas, to defend against rocket helicopters. And you need heavy AA to defend against fixed wing aircraft. Be creative and use their range to your advantage. You don't need to sit them behind your troops, although this is of course the safest place. Often there will be large gaps between the areas that are actually defended, leaving you the opportunity to get AA, especially MANPAD teams, far further up than your opponent expects. This can mean you shoot the incoming air assets down before they get a chance to fire, as often if you leave your AA in the rear, they will shoot the aircraft down but only after they've made their attacks. You may have shot their jets/helos down, but they may have done enough damage to your attack to blunt it anyway.
Proceeds to pull up with the 27th guarsd mechanized division and 4 grads... Nice town you got there my friend, it would be a shame if I made it dissapear Or nuke em XD
You can't shoot through smoke. The units would drive through it to execute the order and expose themselves. The fire position only fires 1 volley. So either 1 shot from a tank gun, or 1 burst from an IFV. You have to target the exact pixel within the building block that the enemy is, or they take 0 damage. Welcome to Warno :)
All that planning and preparation just for the enemy to smoke your fire support and counter battery your artillery amd mortars, your smoke runs out because they were destroyed and you can either comtinue attacking and most probably lose or sit down, counter artillery back and hope you can surpass the difference in points with another attack 5-10 minutes later. Or even easier, push back to the center of the town amd deny you from ticking pointsbforcing you into a urban grinding with skirmishes on the flanks for the reinforcement route.
duh, when you attack the other guy fights back. It might take several attacks or a lot more prep with arty/air support to actually take the point. But the rough strategy used here should let you do more damage than driving your stuff out of cover and being deleted instantly. The "steps" shown here should be seen more as general game sense - Howitzers can delete annoying point targets without exposing a unit - Smoke isolates target positions from the support around them allowing you to focus on a smaller part of the enemy line and overwhelm them in your attack. - Rocket arty will supress or kill stuff around an area very effectively. - Tanks and IFVs will win infantry fights by supporting them from a distance and by using their mobility to flank around and cut off the enemy support. - if all else fails, tactical nuke
Step 1: buy lots of tanks Step 2: meat shield INF in front Step 3: attack move a specific area without blobbing too much. Against the ai it works every time lol
