It may be shut for violation on public hygiene regulations, but otherwise it's not against any law. Now if there was a 16 year old or older running that stand, they would require a license.

I retired many years ago from a 25 year police career. In my day, we didn't even respond to calls like this or we would send a car to the "Karen's" house and tell her she'd have to sign a complaint and appear in court. They hated it and then threatened calling city hall on us. I always loved turning the "law" back on them. I miss those days...

It wasn’t a waste of time in my opinion, it lead to a productive talk and how other officers should handle the situation. Even Corrupt cops would handle this way from now on due to the positive publicity it gained. And it made the kids and parents day to see such professionalisms, and it encourages them to do more legal activities without fear. And the kids got to make some money and cops got to taste delicious lemonade, so many positive things came out of one ugly negative intent.

Growing up in the 70's I collected glass bottles, S& H stamps, chopped firewood, mowed lawns, handed out flyers for businesses anything to make a buck. Nowadays I see a kid trying to make a buck I pay them good because it's so rare.

In my day, we didn't even respond to calls like this or we would send a car to the "Karen's" house and tell her she'd have to sign a complaint and appear in court. They hated it and then threatened calling city hall on us. I always loved turning the "law" back on them. I miss those days...

It wasn’t a waste of time in my opinion, it lead to a productive talk and how other officers should handle the situation. Even Corrupt cops would handle this way from now on due to the positive publicity it gained. And it made the kids and parents day to see such professionalisms, and it encourages them to do more legal activities without fear. And the kids got to make some money and cops got to taste delicious lemonade, so many positive things came out of one ugly negative intent.
This has happened in our neighborhood, but usually the kids are selling Popsicles. Cant imagine what it would be like living with someone who calls the cops on kids

Growing up in the 70's I collected glass bottles, S& H stamps, chopped firewood, mowed lawns, handed out flyers for businesses anything to make a buck. Nowadays I see a kid trying to make a buck I pay them good because it's so rare.

I’m only 23 but I remember taking out trash for people who lived in the apartments. My friends and I would charge them $2 to take all the trash out and many would actually pay, especially those who lived on the 3rd floor and didn’t want to carry it all the way downstairs to the big trash can.

I'm in Melbourne ,Australia. But overall here in Australia, for a $1 all we get is $1 Slurpee or coffee in 7/11. Supermarkets have 70cents drinking water. That's all u can for a $1 here. 10years before there were few but not now. Not a Lemonade. Lemons in Market costs 5 lemons for $2 were we can make our own 👌🏼

Kids have been selling lemonade since lemonade was invented it’s a great way to teach kids money and business...I always stop and buy from my neighborhood kids! Great to see the police interact with these kids builds trust and security in the community

I had a lemonade stand with my brother as a kid. The local cops were some of the best customers.

This is what we need, the police applying common sense to a situation that could have turned ugly if handled differently.

The difference here is that these kids were doing nothing wrong...
But these kids were just selling lemonade, not trying to fight the cops after commiting a crime.
