Any powder coat as Mica resin based Paint or powder coat Paint for car goes or i Need a specific kind of powder Paint? Thanks so much for your help
Quick question for anyone with an answer. Why are ball head jigs for fly tying 400 times the price of your regular eagle claw ball head jigs? I tie tiny flies for trout so I’m clueless to this crappie stuff. Great video, cool as hell.
Fly fisherman pay premium for a lot of supplies, so big companies can get away with jacking up prices on things like jig heads. It’s cheaper to either use a jig hook and a tungsten bead to make a jig head, or purchase heads from people who pour them. Thanks for the comment!
Giving credit where it's due is RARE! You are a good man! 👊💯
I wonder if I could do this effect on spinner blades ?
Try it! I’d love to know if that works.
LOL! you just keep this ole man working on new stuff! Thx MJ&F!

Very cool!👌
That's dope lol. It's like a forward facing cyclops eye at first 😂 good info. Thanks for sharing
After you do this swirl effect, can the jigs still be placed in the oven for their final baking?
Absolutely! The paint sometimes runs a little, but they still turn out great.
Thank you, I’ve always wanted to know how to do that.
Awesome. Do you have to bake them after painting? Thanks. Scott
I usually clear coat them so the paint doesn’t run, but you can bake if you prefer.
Do think it’s necessary to heat treat powder painted heads anymore if use uv resin on them after tying?
If you’re applying a clear coat you do not need to heat treat. It makes no difference.
Nice tip!
What kind of paint is thst ?😊
Protec
Thanks for you helpful job!

Unfortunately I’m not familiar with paints other than ProTec and Stardust. I hope you can find some!
Every time I try this it never turns out as good as yr
So cool! Do you still cure them in an oven?
You can, but I don’t. I give them a clear coat.
@@MustacheJigs what do you use for the clear coat?

@@MustacheJigs thank ya!
do you cure them at the end?
You can, but I prefer to clear coat them with solarez.
Do you put those in an oven to bake?
You can. I use solarez.
Don't you bake it? If not it will chip easy
I don’t bake mine. I just add a tough clear coat.
That’ll run the price per jig up. My prices depend on how fast I can get them hanging.
It's cool but heat guns not expensive but cool trick and easier than lighter. Once gun heated up it's all good.good tip and you make good jigs
Most old timers say plain lead works just as well as painted jigs
Are you an old timer
they do, but I like the pretty colors lol
Taking advice from a guy using a lighter. No thanks
