I feel so bad for Evelina. I hope whatever the issue is gets resolved soon. I really like watching her play. The camerawork, production, commentary and play are first rate. Thanks for sharing.
Crazy that Evelina is still on lead card after all those missed putts in the previous round/s. She’d be close to -15 if she hit those short range putts and dominating this tournament
Yeah she's a great thrower but the putting isn't working unfortunately.
I hope she isn’t plagued with yips her entire career.
Since the last round of the European Championship last year, her putting has been atrocious. Sadly, she has the yips and couldn't fix it during the off-season.

@@BathTeth Yeah, I watched it happen and I felt sad for her. I could tell Henna did too and didn’t want to win that way. At least she’s still young and her confidence can recover.
Great coverage, we appreciate it! But Terry I believe you marked Tattar for Blomroos bogey on hole 1. Tattar should have stayed at -5 and Blomroos should have went to -4.
That focus from Henna on 9 was amazing. I was yelling at her to wait for that bike! Cheers logo on my kite

I'm feeling like so many other commenters: watching someone struggle with their putt is so painful. We've seen it before from great players like Jen Allen and Cat. Juliana talked in an interview about "the yips" causing her to stop playing DG for a long time. The surprise of missing a short putt, devolves into unsurmountable pressure for the next putts...especially the short ones. We are surprised to see this from pros, although all of us have had a round or more where it seems like we completely forget how to putt or drive. It might be time for DG to have onsite coaches. In almost every other major sport, there are coaches who help the athlete get back on track. I'm thinking of quarterbacks and pitchers.

Can anybody explain why Jen Allen putts like that? Why does she do underhand scoping warm-ups like Conrad and then elbow fires across the chest like Keith? Wouldn't it be better to put the same way she warm-up swings?

Terry, I love your videos. But, lately, scoring was a problem. Who ever is doing your editing is getting the scores that are being displayed on the bottom have been wrong on the last few videos. I had to make my own mental scoring throughout the video. For instance, after hole 4 it should be a three way tie at -5.
...and yesterday's coverage showed the final scores after the front 9. Ugh!

Hole 1 Re-throw, Terry is correct. According to 802.02.D: If a player is making another throw from the same lie, or a re-throw, that player remains next in the throwing order. A re-throw is an additional throw from the same lie which is played instead of the original throw.

You gotta be feeling it for Salonen. We have all had those stretches when you just can't find the chains. It gets so hard to keep your head and heart in it when you have those rounds. Stay strong out there.

As someone with dry skin, will l occasionally throw a putt similar to what Henna did on #5 as the disc would "stick to my hand".
Likely the Arizona conditions is causing the extreme issues with Evelina as well.

Place the picture of my favorite driver on the kite. Then when I fly it, I could visualize my disc going much higher and farther than I could ever actually throw the disc.

I have been in Eveliina’s shoes with respect to rushing my routine during tournament play and that can be so frustrating and painful! She is such a double threat off the tee with fantastic forehand and backhand power and when she dials in that short game she’ll be awesome for sure.
Vista is such a deceptively difficult course! The holes look open but the hard pack and the wind + tall baskets is low key treacherous. Plus, dehydration is a legit factor even this time of year.
Before I even watch 1 hole of this round I just wanna say I really hope that Evelina putts better this round. That was hard to watch weather your a fan of hers or not. No one likes to see someone putting that badly. However, let’s go Jen Allen.

Yes, Hannah. Staggered putt vs. staggered stance is tomayto-tomahto.
Putting is the part of the game where fpo and mpo should be more alike. But it seems fpo struggles way more.
Should be close, you’re right, especially if Heather Young is an example. You have to remember the size of women’s hands are much smaller, most putters feel very deep to me and it’s not easy to engage your fingers under the flight plate for loft and control. That being said, women are usually better at fine motor skills, so it may just be about finding the right putter.
Well.. In the third episode of leadcard season 2(reality discgolf show) after hearing Lauri Lehtinen training 5 times a week for an hour just on putting(plus more on event weekends) she said that she doesn't train her putt at all. Says a lot. Also she doesn't even touch her discs during off-season. Says something about fpo even though she is most likely an extreme example. But with that in mind still is in contention of every tournament even though she has some yips type problems on top of that cause of the final round of European championships
@@stardustie I think it's also that maybe 1% of disc golfers are women in a sport that's already small, and with no particular incentive to play all the time unless you're unemployed. I used to get beaten at tennis by women and I wasn't a bad player and I'm 5'7. I've only been playing disc golf coming up to two years and I think I'd be doing pretty well if I played fpo competitions. Something doesn't really add up, as I think women like Venus Williams could probably win mpo events if they went all in on disc golf. But people like that have better things to do than frolf. Same is true for the men's game, if actual athletes went mental on disc golf.. Roger Federer etc. I think the fun of disc golf is that everyone is fairly shit at it

I couldn't help think of the wicked witch of the west music, when that bike came all up in Henna's putt. "Oh my word" is also what I'm going to say from now on when some one cans a putt.
Did they say what the difference was that they could see re: backups?
Since the backup comment was about Paul's round and not this group...it was most likely hole 12. According to my spotter on that hole there were a lot of ob rethrows there. The wind didn't help the players.
Normally, you go after the last person in your group when you miss a mando from the tee (if there's no drop zone). The immediate retee was a course rule.
On hole 1, we had to let almost everyone that missed the mando that it was an immediate retee.

No, she just threw a bunch into the water on the previous round, took a quintuple bogey with three lost disc on just one hole if I remember right
The wind was up last round at Fountain Hills and she made the same mistake attempting the same long water carry that the wind wouldn't allow three times and lost 3 of her main/favorite drivers on the same hole. She then lost another disc or two later in that round. So she's had to replace most of her distance drivers.
Yeah she kinda went full "Tin Cup" mode at fountain...

I’ve seen evelina play 5 rounds this year and something is very wrong with her putting. She’s lost so many strokes missing easy tap ins. Hope she gets it straightened out.
She's not even trying. I get when people miss putts from 20ft because we all do it. I am a rec player (860 rated) but I would never miss as many 20ft and in putts than Eveliina and neither would anyone else in rec. She is obviously great off the tee she has control and distance but its frustrating to see a player literally not even try and make a 10ft putt. This isn't a problem with her putting being wrong because any disc golfer male or female can make 10-20ft putts. She just doesn't care.
Evelina's elbow bend is killing her accuracy
I do not understand Jen Allen's put. Her warrmup stroke looks nice and smooth, then she putts with a completely different, choppy stroke from the left shoulder, quick pullback and quick release.
My kite would have "Wild Bill's Kite". Describes my disc golf game and would explain why my kite is in the tree.
They needed to fix the score due to Kristin and Henna due to the pars up until the bogey on hole 4 for Kristin. Henna bogey on hole 2

I’d have rappers Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion on my kite. From the general public they’re just looked at as “a couple more rappers” but they’re like therapists for me. XXXTentacions life advice is impeccable and juice WRLD made music for any mood you could be in. They definitely both left positive impacts on this world
