Sorry to get a bit out of the topic, but what does “standard stabilization” mean? I saw everything was quite well stabilized. Did you do anything apart for the camera’s own stabilization?
On the Zve-10 there are 2 options for stabilization, standard and active. Standard only turns on lenses that are stabilized. Some Sony lenses have the work OSS on the lens and they signifies that it’s a stabilized lens. Active stabilization is the camera body’s digital stabilization. This mode crops in about 40% so that it can have room to digitally stabilize the image. For me the active stabilization is cropped in too much for vlogging or pointing a camera at yourself so I will use standard as long as I’m using a OSS lens (the kit lens is an OSS btw)
Set the levels to around -12 on the volume meter. That will give you headroom for loud spikes with out clipping and loud enough to avoid preamp hiss from the camera

Hi, I just got my deity d4 duo mic on my sony zve10. how should be the set up on the menu? I couldn't figure out the proper set up so my camera can record with audio from the microphone.
The only thing you should need to do is adjust the audio levels to go with the mic. I try to get the levels to around -12 on the meter. Also if you use the mic for front and rear recording, it’s going to split your audio to left and right so you will want to usually edit that in post to mono.
Great video mate. I am now in the market to buy a new camera. My old Nikon D500 has pretty bad recorder and produces a lot of hiss (white noise) when recording with an external microphone. Do you hear such hiss when recording with an external microphone on the ZV-e10?

Make sure the cable you are using is a TRS cable and not a TRRS cable. Usually phones use the trrs cable and that won’t work with the camera. There should be only two rings or “lines” on the plug. If you see 3 than that’s the wron cable. This is what you would need amzn.to/3koWfEk

For me the active stabilization is cropped in too much for vlogging or pointing a camera at yourself so I will use standard as long as I’m using a OSS lens (the kit lens is an OSS btw)

would you be able to hear anybody behind the camera for the rode video micro? if so how well?
Yes you can still pick up behind the camera but just not as well as in front. When I’m talking behind the camera I leaned to project a bit more
What a great video testing all the qualities of the mic 👍
Fantastic video Kyle! I am still learning and will be picking up my camera soon.
I still have to learn to edit videos and figure out how to do all that audio syncing stuff if the mics dont add the audio directly to the video like how the internal mic would.
Still trying to figure that out!
Thanks Andray! All of these mics will plug into the camera and will add the audio straight to your video. No need to sync anything in post.
@@KyleWattsTV Oh thats awesome! Man you just answered my question that I been struggling to find answer to for such a long time!
You rock Kyle! Have an amazing Friday and will be watching some of your older videos and giving them likes!
I wish all these you-tubers would test mics with LIVE MUSIC. Go see your friends band play, and get some mic comparisons.
How we can do Time lapse
You want to switch the camera into S&Q and in the menu set it to 1fps or 2fps. This is a video I made for the a7siii and a6400 on how to set it up

@@KyleWattsTV Thank you so much! Great help!
@@KyleWattsTV I managed to fix it and now it's working. Thank you so much for your help! 🤗
You're doin God's work. God bless.
All of them are great!!!
Great video mate. I am now in the market to buy a new camera. My old Nikon D500 has pretty bad recorder and produces a lot of hiss (white noise) when recording with an external microphone. Do you hear such hiss when recording with an external microphone on the ZV-e10?
Rode Wireless go 2 wireless is incredible
Is there any microphone input in zve10 ?
Yes the zve10 has a 3.5mm input on the camera
Hey bud, I've been trying to get rode wireless 1 to work with zve10 - and for some reason it's not accepting the sound input. The rode cable I have works for my phone and into laptop etc and I've tested the mic slot in the camera by directly plugging in the lavalier.. any ideas?
Make sure the cable you are using is a TRS cable and not a TRRS cable. Usually phones use the trrs cable and that won’t work with the camera. There should be only two rings or “lines” on the plug. If you see 3 than that’s the wron cable.
This is what you would need

@@KyleWattsTV brother - that's PRECISELY the problem! I do have one with 3 lines.. I just ordered the one with two lines !!!
Really appreciated.. let's chat and we can do a collab soon..
What would be a great wireless handheld mic for these cameras ? Any suggestions? Thank you.. will subscribe and def like the video for the content alone
That's hilarious, I've had the Wireless GO II since it came out and had no idea you could record directly to the unit. I've always brought a portable Zoom for the main Wireless Go II receiver. Still, for talking head I will go with the NTG.
I like to have the best audio for my video. Do you recommend using Sony UWP-D system with this camera? Or should I get an external recorder like Zoom F6?
Wow thanks for the vid
No Rode SVMX? Understandable 💸
Its what I run but have been looking for something stereo in the size of the videomicro (that won’t overtax a gimbal/weigh as much as my ZVE does literally). Doesn’t seem to exist in any quality I would want, at any price I’d be willing to pay
Never got my hands on one of those stereo rode mics. I would like to give one a try some day though
@@KyleWattsTV Really phenomenal. If they ever come up on sale or anything 10/10 pick one up. The 🦘at Røde made a good one. It’s just heavy is all.
Hi kyle, first thanks for your video, it is really helpfull. I have a problem , i bought sony zv e10 and the recommended ntg rode videomic but when I use the cable and connect it to the camera, i don't get the audio of the rode and instead of it i still get the internal mic from the camera, need help
Make sure the mic is pushed all the way in and that the mic is charged up. I once recorded some stuff and the cable on the mic side wasn’t pushed all the way in and I only got the internal mic. I’ll have to double check that there isn’t a setting In the camera that turns off the mic input but I don’t think there is one
@@KyleWattsTV yes its pushed correctly i checked it, when i switch the camera on, the mic doesn't start with.
I think that it detect the micro cause after recording the video with the mic connected to the camera, when i play the video, i need to unplug the cable so that i can listen to the audio, but the audio doesn't come from the rode but from the internal zv e10 mic
@@malekarous you have it connected the the 3.5 on the top of the camera and not the headphone jack on the bottom right?
The deity will allow me to plug in a wireless mic like shit mic 2 I already have. 💪🏽💪🏽 Awesome.
Hi Kyle, thanks for the review. I've just got a Rode VideoMicro for my ZV E10, but when I plug it, the camera keeps grabbing the sound from the internal microphone. The microphone is plugged on the mic input (just on top of USB-C port), I have also tried several cables and checked it is fully inserted. The microphone works on my computer. Is there anything special to set up on the camera ? Thanks :)
I do have the same problem 😢
Dont know why it keeps grabbing sound from the internal mic
@@mikhaeljonathan I am afraid we have a defective port 😟
Are you using an appropriate TRS to TRS cable? If you have TRRS to TRS or TRS to TRRS (or TRRS to TRRS) it will not work
Almost certainly your microphone port on the camera is broken
How do you overcome the overheating in 4k 100 Mbits?
Turn the heat setting on the menu to high and it shouldn’t be a problem. I have never had mine over heat after changing that
is it wierd that I think the internal mic sounds the best?
Yes
Yes lol the internal mic sounds so bad
I have the deity and i find it works great but to be honest i’ve never switched settings to pick up sound behind the mic lol
You have the d4 duo?
Thanks!
Hello can anybody help me im new to cameras and mics and I have the rode wireless go 2 and rode lavalier go i used them together but I'm picking up a lot of wind noise in my videos, I have the db set at -9 and volume on camera at 13 can anybody give me any tips I will greatly appreciate it thank you.
I’ve been having a rough time with this too, I think lowering the camera setting to around 2 might be the play for you though? Give it a try and hopefully it’ll help!
I picked up the rode dead cat wind screen for my rode lav mic and that stopped the wind noise
@@KyleWattsTV Just picked up the lav microphone myself an dhoping that itself will actually solve the issue, I was using the Rode Wireless mic itself, thank you!
El mejor que vi es el wireless II, es muy versatil y con una calidad de audio impresionante, siento que le gana 2 veces a los DJI wireless que cuestan lo doble.
Deity
None of the above. Sony ECM-G1is very very hard to beat.
First! Lol 😂
