Finally, a Sideswipe I really want! I don't know why, but I've never liked any of the existing Sideswipe Toys, and only have a couple to complete a set. This new one looks amazing though, and I really want it, despite not being a MasterPiece scale collector. I wouldn't know where to put him in my room though :/
@@Windcharger It's funny you mention it, because my desk did have a couple of bots on it, and I just reorganized my main shelf, and cleaned my desk up just the other day XD
DX9 really shot themselves in the foot releasing those initial pictures of Prowl. These updated pics are an improvement but it still looks like a Legends scale figure and not very Masterpiece. Keep up the good work, Ben!
I like both DX9 figures, not sure yet if I like them enough to replace the Hasbro bots, but I will decide on that when in hand and/or colour shots are available. Not really a fan of the square nipples on Sideswipe though.......
Man, MakeToys will literally do ANYTHING, reissue all the stuff they possibly could, BUT finally release the rest of the Autobot Headmasters.... after years and years and years of waiting.... aaaaargh !!!!
@@Windcharger TMreviews met their staff at some TF convention last year, he took recordings of their Highbrow and Brainstorm gray prototypes, and said that they confirmed him that they'll be releasing them. He uploaded that video on his Yt channel in 2023. Now, I guess we'll wait and see
Man!! Those MPG figures should never been labeled or classified as Masterpiece! Not gonna lie!! I've seen reviews and they are absolutely garbage. I think the Studio Series is more Masterpiece than that!
Both of DX9s Attempts are beautiful, they’ve stolen engineering from fans toys, and they’re not willing to update other aspects of their figures that they got wrong, they’ve arguably made the faces look worse. Way to go ruining two of my favourite characters and one of possibly our only attempts at getting proper animation accurate figures of them.
I think MP 60 will be Powermaster Optimus, and MP9G will be his trailer. Crap move i know but it looks like thats the way the cookie crumbles to me in those pictures. Lucky me though im not interested in either, and if i were i probably would save a buck now if i went the 3rd party route. Speaking of 3rd party, that Prowl starts looking promising to me, but ill hold on judgement until ive seen some reviews of it before i decide if i want it or not, still thinks my old MP Prowl holds up perfectly. With Sideswipe its a similar thing, dont like the extra stuff they added in, but maybe itll look better in red.
It doesn’t work like that, mpg is a full package. MP 60 is a different sku to MPG. Takara is advertising that you buy both and mix and match the two of them, depending on the aesthetic you want
I just put up the old Prowl on my shelf. I can't complain there. There's definitely new prototyping going on based on fan feedback for sure. Just like the good old days 3rd-party reacted to fan feedback and what Fans Hobby does very well.

I heard that the factory is just making them and the reissues are supposed to be cheaper.... same thing with the DX9 thing... but these are just rumors.

I don't think they will release new toys... they are just recoloring and reissuing at this stage.
