How I interpret it is like this: A big part of Blue Lock is about a striker's ego. I think Sae went to Spain and realized that he didn't have the ego that it takes to be the world's best striker, but he thinks that Rin does. However, Rin's attachment and dependence on Sae is holding him back (in Sae's eyes), so he decided to sever that connection to try and make Rin form an ego independent of him ("Don't use me as an excuse to play soccer"). His plan didn't exactly work though because now Rin's ego still revolves around Sae, it's just focused on revenge rather than wanting to be the best. Because of that, Sae still doesn't think Rin has what it takes. That's why in the last episode, Sae said "If you keep thinking of yourself as my little brother, you'll never surpass me". He doesn't believe Rin can become the best until he stops using Sae as his reason for playing. Rin's true ego is still undeveloped. Basically, Sae just wants Rin to have his own ego that doesn't involve himself, therefore he cut him off to further Rin's development. However, it kinda backfired and Rin is still centering his soccer around Sae, just for a different reason since he sees Sae's actions as a betrayal of their shared dream. I think they're both kind of in the right in that Rin cannot become the best in the world if he's only focusing on his brother, but I do think Sae was a little harsh about it (but as we've seen, he's always kind of had a bad personality lol). Part of the issue stems from Rin's rejection of Sae's changed dream, which led to a breakdown in communication and since they're not the most emotionally intelligent, an inevitable falling out (even though it ends up being mostly one-sided on Rin's end). It's kind of funny that in a twisted way, they both just want to see each other as the best striker in the world :') (again, this is just my interpretation, so it isn't necessarily the right one. to me, it just makes the most sense as of right now) (sorry for the long comment, love the reactions!)
Sae has ego if anything he has it in abundance even more than most in blue lock. The thing is like Ego said, You can train defenders and midfielders, but as for striker you can't train them, they have to be born with the talent for it then have the ego to back it up. Unfortunately for Sae, Rin was the one born with the striker's instinct.
@ that’s what i was saying but maybe i wasn’t clear enough. i didn’t mean that sae didn’t have any ego, just that he didn’t have the right ego to be a striker at the level of world’s best. of course he still has insane ego, he wouldn’t be where he is otherwise. it’s just an ego more suited to his current position, which he realized while in spain where he probably met strikers with a striker’s ego

The reason Itoshi Sae updated his dream was that when he went to Spain, he encountered strikers who were better than him, like the one featured in Episode 23 of the series. As Ego mentioned, you can train a defender or a goalkeeper, but a striker is born with their talent. Like Rin, who was saying he goes to the place where he can destroy the opponents, Sae realized he lacked that natural striker’s instinct and decided to pursue a different path.

I do agree that sae was trying to change rin’s ego to be more egotistical. But it backfired because rin’s out for blood and wants revenge instead of aiming to be the best striker. He wants to prove to himself and to sae that he is a better player…
I think it became really important to Sae when he was abroad to open his mind and playstyle to other countries around the world that produce insanely high level players, and he probably realized how trapped he was in Japan since they are a bit lacking in terms of football and also how much better he is at midfield with his specific skillset. I’m pretty sure that blond dude from the world 5 not Blake plays on royale and probably sae either got called half baked and realized something or he realized his talents weren’t fit to be a striker
Sae didn't necessarily give up his dream, so much as he modified it. He still wants to be the best player in the world; he just believes that's possible as a midfielder
As much as I do love this game story wise I am so excited to see Gojo and Geto, the boys, back together again and on the same team. Can't wait for the SaeXShidou second half, they killed it with the voice actors for the show. Still wish they went a different direction visually but I still love this series its such an amazing take on a sports anime.
From my understanding, Sae is mad to Rin because he sees his past self in him. What I mean is that Sae though he was or he could be one of the best strikers in the world and became complacent, but after moving to a more competitive league he realised how far behind he actually was compared to others. After moving back after all these years and sees Rin being complacent with his level is like seeing his past self repeating the same mistake so I believe he projects some of his anger to his past self onto Rin. Furthermore, I am not entirely sure if Sae changed his dream because he believes it is impossible for him, or because he matured more as a player and realised that the midfielder is actually a position where you control things better (like haikyu setter position sort of thing). I would love to hear your thoughts on this. PS: I am anime only so please avoid any spoilers in comments
It's not confirmed but a theory but sae changed his dream cause of leonardo luna, the blonde guy from the world 5 from spain which makes sense, destroyed sae like how he did with rin
As an Itoshi Sae stan (obvious with my pic lol), I must defend him.. kinda 😅😂 Rin was the one who reacted violently and spouted hurtful words first. All Sae said was that he changed his dream ftom best striker to best midfielder. But Rin called that 'meaningless' or 'useless'. Of course Sae got hurt by that, and that's when he started getting too harsh towards Rin (Sae was wrong for this and he obviously went overboard). Both of them are prideful and lack communication skills, which make their situation worse 😭 But I love both brothers and I want them to reconcile soon! 🙏😭
In the first place it was Sae who instilled in Rin that everything else besides being the best striker is meaningless. Literally his own words that he ate after he came back and expected Rin who's never experienced the same things he did, to understand and accept right away. He felt called out for giving up on the same thing he told Rin never to give up on and lashed out on his own brother. It's unfortunate that he got crushed in Spain but that's not an excuse to take it out on your brother by crushing him too.
You could see in Sae's eyes how dead he was when he said 'I am going to update my dream' imagine your dream is to be an engineer because that is cool and all that but then you realize you have attributes to be a doctor that would suck man .....(not disrespecting doctors degree or the role of a midfielder, just taking an example) And basically Rin is REPEATING the same mistake like before and Sae has been telling him that the whole match basically Rin doesnt even like football . He only plays football because of his brother that is why Sae is so pissed at him.
I think you also see his realization of that in his eyes. He realized that he created someone who only wants go be the second best. That crushed him, so he decided to cut off that relationship with Rin. It was unhealthy.
To be fair, this backstory wasn't something I expected at all. I thought I would find what Sae did so wrong that now Rin hates him. But contrary to that it was Rin's immaturity and lack of understanding, also obsession. I totally get Sae's perspective, except that trash-talking his little brother was unnecessary. Also realizing that Rin's only motivation is Sae and not actually loving the football or becoming the best in the world is kind of sad.

He has the talent but not that extra component missing
Yh the foreshadowing is crazy, Ego also said in ep 1 that striker is a Destroyer of enemy team's balance, and well, Rin is a destroyer of sorts. If you know you know:D
I mean Sae is reasonable in his choice to re adjust his dream but the way he went about it could've been a lot better instead of telling his brother to get lost and that he has no value, up until that point he'd been nice to Rin just to 180 on him out of nowhere
@@i_lik3_to_drawofficial870 that shift and way of talking to his brother came after he top Rin he was changing his goal and RIn telling him I'm the little brother of the best striker and youre not the brother I shared the dream with and theres a shift on Saes face like it was fine when that was your dream when we were 5 but is your dream really just to be in my shadow? If so then within the sport he has no value he isnt playing for the love of the game
I think Sae did this because Rin said he wanted to quit soccer and Sae wanted to be the fuel (As a villain) for Rin to be the best again. And again even in the backstory Sae got scouted by Real Madrid (Biggest club itw) surely he could have been given MVP for that and also motivated Rin to continue playing soccer be the best even if it was in a negetive (I dont want to give spoilers from some another anime but I think most of us know that he is acting like a certain uchiha🤣), keeping aside the fact that he is the best player on the pitch!
Isn't it mostly the same? the only real difference is the choice of words in the "Crush them in the 2nd half". I'd say it's better here cuz Ego looks really nice in the Blue Suit and the effects really show the impact and respect he has from the Blue Lock Gang
Lmao…throw away your hate Sae and you can see that Rin is the reason the relationship isn’t great. Sae went to the real world and learned while Rin was still an idealistic boy
He literally said to rin you be the best striker in the world and il be the best midfielder so he still wanted that duo but rin was crying saying nah I wanna be second striker you be first lol so you guy hating his brother isn’t on him 😂🤣 and football is like that once you go to the world level you see the levels.
Sae seeks to give his brother a reality check because as a striker he sees more potential in Rin knowing that the world of soccer outside of Japan is more complicated. And maybe he adopted a cooler attitude to develop a more ambitious and individualistic ego in Rin. if he had done it the right way, it wouldn't have worked for Rin. ⚽🧩
how do you know that it wouldn't have worked for rin? when sae initially left, rin expressed that he needs to ascend his brother to be on the world stage with him. who's to say that once he saw how much of a gap he had with his brother in terms of abilities that he wouldn't have strived harder? having someone (whether that's a rival, idol) you can measure up against and push you to be better is important in sports. that's what rin thinks he lost cause sae is irreplaceable to him. he needed to grow, he didn't need to get crushed. what sae did is only one way that indirectly spurred it on, and it's the most toxic one that practically cost their relationship
@@cheekyramen The thing is, Rin's ego up to this Uchiha Massacre was "I'm gonna be the second best behind my bro, I'll play for my bro, I'm gonna be what my bro was on the team" He's not playing for himself at all, he's playing with the image of what Sae wants. Sae always had this "I'll be the best at worlds" mentality, but, and while we don't really know who the hell stomped on him so bad as to crush his ego, we know that Sae always saw Rin had a spark in his instinctual play that he just didn't have. Hearing that Rin just can't let him go and holds him in such a high regard while he was totally defeated and left to be a supporter, kinda hurt his 2nd plan of having Rin being the best. If you go a step further, you can think that we switched to OMF so he can better support the dreams of his brother
@@mrbigotes9974 and I don't disagree, I just don't think it's the only way for Rin to discover his own ego outside of his brother and you see that this way actually backfired cause now he is more obsessed about his brother and not in a good way. all this could have been prevented if sae sat rin down in the living room and properly explained his changed perspective like what a normal older brother should have done 😀

I’m pretty sure that blond dude from the world 5 not Blake plays on royale and probably sae either got called half baked and realized something or he realized his talents weren’t fit to be a striker
And you’re a Liverpool fan?! That’s it I’m subscribed for life 😂
Sae got spanked in Spain so bad he switched positions😂
Uploaded 56 seconds ago is crazy, I feel like Im breathing next to you guys rn
Sae didn't necessarily give up his dream, so much as he modified it. He still wants to be the best player in the world; he just believes that's possible as a midfielder
As much as I do love this game story wise I am so excited to see Gojo and Geto, the boys, back together again and on the same team. Can't wait for the SaeXShidou second half, they killed it with the voice actors for the show. Still wish they went a different direction visually but I still love this series its such an amazing take on a sports anime.
I personally feel like Sae is the Itachi of Blue Lock Universe ;)
AGREED 👏
You'll Never Walk Alone 🔴
I love how this ended up being so Itachi-Sasuke coded
Sae went to Real Madrid played against Mohamed Salah and decided to be a Midfielder instead
Ange remember 2018 and 2022 final🙂↔️
Rin's backstory giving off tai lung vibes
Itoshi Sae 😈 = Leonardo Luna effect!
Waiting for you guys to react Blue Box🙂
It's not confirmed but a theory but sae changed his dream cause of leonardo luna, the blonde guy from the world 5 from spain which makes sense, destroyed sae like how he did with rin
As an Itoshi Sae stan (obvious with my pic lol), I must defend him.. kinda 😅😂
Rin was the one who reacted violently and spouted hurtful words first. All Sae said was that he changed his dream ftom best striker to best midfielder. But Rin called that 'meaningless' or 'useless'. Of course Sae got hurt by that, and that's when he started getting too harsh towards Rin (Sae was wrong for this and he obviously went overboard).
Both of them are prideful and lack communication skills, which make their situation worse 😭
But I love both brothers and I want them to reconcile soon! 🙏😭
Sae spoiled Rin
In the first place it was Sae who instilled in Rin that everything else besides being the best striker is meaningless. Literally his own words that he ate after he came back and expected Rin who's never experienced the same things he did, to understand and accept right away. He felt called out for giving up on the same thing he told Rin never to give up on and lashed out on his own brother. It's unfortunate that he got crushed in Spain but that's not an excuse to take it out on your brother by crushing him too.
You could see in Sae's eyes how dead he was when he said 'I am going to update my dream'
imagine your dream is to be an engineer because that is cool and all that but then you realize you have attributes to be a doctor
that would suck man .....(not disrespecting doctors degree or the role of a midfielder, just taking an example)
And basically Rin is REPEATING the same mistake like before and Sae has been telling him that the whole match
basically Rin doesnt even like football . He only plays football because of his brother that is why Sae is so pissed at him.
I think you also see his realization of that in his eyes. He realized that he created someone who only wants go be the second best. That crushed him, so he decided to cut off that relationship with Rin. It was unhealthy.
Let's gooo Liverpool
To be fair, this backstory wasn't something I expected at all. I thought I would find what Sae did so wrong that now Rin hates him. But contrary to that it was Rin's immaturity and lack of understanding, also obsession. I totally get Sae's perspective, except that trash-talking his little brother was unnecessary. Also realizing that Rin's only motivation is Sae and not actually loving the football or becoming the best in the world is kind of sad.
Even manga readers don't know what happened to sae 😂
Cause of Luna
@@OrenawaErenJeager When was this stated??
@@Batman_Courage Luna played in Real Madrid and he is one of the best striker we saw in season 1. How can sae played in striker when there was a world class best striker. It's not mentioned but It's clear reason
@@OrenawaErenJeager It's just a major guess, not actually confirmed.
@@Batman_Courage Yes i also said that but i think the author confirmed it in wc arc
The art is beautiful even if the animation is lacking
Royale is based on Real Madrid
The difference between Madrid and Liverpool
you won and got 3 points
we took the title from you in 2018 and 2022😂
I focus on the present 😆
Are you enjoying Man City Downfall Ange, i was supporting Liverpool this time against City, lets goooo huge win !!!
10th time Asking you guys to react on Ao ASHI after you are done with Blue Lock. That'll make one more Sports anime in rotation.
Also I am sure it'll be up there with Blue Lock and Haikyuu when it comes to best sports anime of this generation.
Blue lock Manga and Ao Ashi manga are on their peak right now.
Rin really crashed out because Sae said lets readjust our dream instead of best 2 strikers lets be the best ST & CAM duo Rin said F- that im gonna destroy you Sae like its a position next to my name on a stat sheet lil bro lol...Ego said in ep1 you can create world class in the other positions Defender, Goalie, Midfielder but to be a striker there is a component that you either have or you don't and Sae just doesn't have it.
@@Mars-m8k Sae SPURRED on that dream of Rin not just at the age of 5 but even till right before he left for Spain
@@PyDuK Exactly.
Not at all, if you have read the manga, you can see what Sae said to Rin after the match. Sae doesn't even care about Rin
Why do they think he is a prick😂do they not watch when they react?
Yuhh
Hey guys
can ange do a cover of spin the wheel please its my favourite song
YNWA 💪🤩
Top of the table, CL & PL - YNWA
YNWA❤
Isagi is totally out of the story lmao 😂
Being a man united fan we celebrate either liverpool or city losing
First I hope, 🤞 rate the episode out of 10 every body
Ego's half time speech in the manga was way better
What was it ?
I went back and read it and it's basically the exact same speech with slight translation differences lol
Isn't it mostly the same? the only real difference is the choice of words in the "Crush them in the 2nd half". I'd say it's better here cuz Ego looks really nice in the Blue Suit and the effects really show the impact and respect he has from the Blue Lock Gang
@@mrbigotes9974 "There's no need for more than one protagonist" was a better line. Also they cut out shidou's demon wings.
@@Fiestrik Exactly manga feels more intense & funny too with all the swearings except this ep this ep felt perfect bcoz of good music & silent pauses.
Random but you guys should watch bleach in the future
Yu Bachira is WAIFU FOR LAIFU.
Man city fans watching this😢🩵
Lmao…throw away your hate Sae and you can see that Rin is the reason the relationship isn’t great. Sae went to the real world and learned while Rin was still an idealistic boy
day 17 of asking you guys to watch sukuna vs mahoraga blu-ray
Hearing your perspective makes me dislike Sae a bit less, but i still dislike him for saying Rin has no value and that he should get out of his life.
You never say that to your friend, let alone your sibling
Slideshow
He literally said to rin you be the best striker in the world and il be the best midfielder so he still wanted that duo but rin was crying saying nah I wanna be second striker you be first lol so you guy hating his brother isn’t on him 😂🤣 and football is like that once you go to the world level you see the levels.
Please react to windbreaker anime, ITS TOP TIER pleaseeeeeeeeee
U guys completely missed Sae's side 🥹
As a fellow Real Madrid fan, u beat us fair and square, this team needs to lock in 🥲
@@majinzyzz Enjoy. Everyone need to enjoy one time
Sae seeks to give his brother a reality check because as a striker he sees more potential in Rin knowing that the world of soccer outside of Japan is more complicated.
