16:29 When you toss away the germinating root of that coconut my childhood self yelled "That's the best part of the old coconut, Rod! You don't throw it away, you eat it!"
I freaked out when he chucked it, whenever you find a sprouting coconut. That is natures candy (apart from honey) But. Yes. Don’t throw it away. Eat it! Then go get more and eat that because you will love it so much
i was never a seafood eater, but after watching you for years and looking at the way you make your beautiful gordon ramsay style meals i have decided to finally try it and couldn’t believe what i was missing out on so cheers to you mate 💪🤘
Rod - Okay so you tossed “Nature’s Candy” crime of the century. However, I believe you more than made up for it by preparing that absolutely sublime Coral Trout with skin crisps!!! That had me convulsing with delight at the very idea of how bloody good I’m sure it all tasted! Great save and good on ya for it! Cheers!
Noooo! You threw the best part away. That “baby coconut “ isn’t a baby coconut. That is an amazingly tasty edible part of a sprouting coconut. They have a crunchy watery texture with a slight sweetness. They are eaten in coconut-growing countries and they are very good! I’ve had hundreds and go looking for them when I am on the islands. They’re awesome and healthy too!
Yes! My favourite content and nearly an hour of wishing I was there fishing and camping on a beautiful remote island. You’re so lucky, Rod. Keep up the good work mate of making us all jealous!
@@mikedoble729 Lucky that his wife lets him do this with her blessing, lucky he’s physically able to do this, lucky that he lives in Oz. So, f off Mike and troll somewhere else.
Enjoying a Saturday morning here in Florida, USA. Sipping coffee from my Rokkit Kit mug and watching my favorite thing you do ...solo island tent camping. Cheers Rod! Thanks for the content.
*Much respect for not putting the UA-cam obligatory clickbait "Catch And Cook" in the title like every channel does.* No cheesy thumbnail either...just pure cinematic magnificence with honest narration. Rod is a likeable guy...I hate when he puts catch n cook in the title to get views. He can get them without the tricks. If I could give 100 likes I would
@@michaelhall5429 Yeah they catch and yeah they do cook. People love it. Thats why they all put it in the title to catch views.Damn its obvious Rod is gonna catch and yeah he is gonna cook too. I just think its obvious. Its a clickbait thing ...not a big deal. I just like it when Rod decided to not put it in...he doesn't have to at this point...and I love that. The man doesn't have to resort to tricks...his subs and others will click despite it. He will have 1 million subs shortly regardless if he puts Catch And Cook in the title lol
You need to bring a machete Rod. You threw away the heart or sprout of the coconut. It tastes really good. Nice place for an all around journey. Thanks for sharing 👍💖
Wicked, Rod. Compelling, viewing, everytime!! Love the channel. RIP Ray. Still don't believe he's gone. Can't wait for part two to drop!! Watching. This. Space.
I love ❤watching your videos and you have me hooked to your channel. I enjoy it so much so that I sometimes think I should migrate to Australia from Vancouver, Canada. Now don't get me wrong, Vancouver is gorgeous and beautiful as well but I wanna be able to experience what you have in your backyard. Keep up the great work my friend.
Mate another magical place the rest of the world doesn’t know what they are missing. Coral trout crispy skins and a simple meal 🤪great island start looking forward to following video . Hope new member of the family if settling in well 👍 Cheers Wombat 🐾🎣🤗🍻
It's Friday here in my neck of the woods and Rod has a video out!! Omg time for a beer and some Rokkit Adventures. Thanks for sharing Rod. And being an island boy, yes that's the best part of a coconut!! LOL🥥
Man, Rokkit. It's amazing to see how far you've come bro. Not too long ago you were putting your life in the hands of the rhib. Happy to see you prospering, brother. Loving these new videos 🤙
Just goes to show that it is so tough to survive out there. Even with modern fishing gear you're not guaranteed to catch a fish all the time with every cast. That's what I like about Rod's videos. It's not just about a guy out there having a blast. It's about a guy surviving.....and having a blast.
Came to say that you shouldn‘t worry so much about what kind of outdoor/fishing content you do. Obviously i highly enjoy you going remote on islands and exploring, fishing and cooking, but it‘s not why i am here. Im here because of you mate and the way you are. Just wanted you to know, don‘t feel forced to do stuff, just because an audience wants that from you, i guess its easier said than done and i might be talking outta my ass, but i just enjoy watching you do stuff and being who you want to be. Stay awesome mate! 🤙🏽
Finally picked up my 1450 last week, and I did order the keel guard. A good fabricator could sort it for you. The build quality is awesome and it's been action stations to get it sorted since then. This video just enhances the stoke.👌😁
Love a good trout. Not the best but its up there. Little tip, fillet both sides of the fish before removibg the fillet completely off one side. Makes the other side a whole lot easier.
As many others have said, when you threw that centre part of the coconut away my heart broke. That is the best part of the coconut. To pick one at the perfect time to get that is so hard. That is coconut candy. I would seriously throw the rest of the coconut away and just keep that part hahahaha. Doesn't matter next time
Between your channel and a few others, you guys have really influenced myself and my son. We want to go camping on uninhabited islands. As someone who has never owned a boat, would you have any advice you can share? Love your content mate!
funny how surprised i was you saw a whole flock of cockatoo, i sometimes forget how different nature is on the other side of the planet 😅 love these trips Rod!
Coral trout will always be one of the best eating fish of Australia. Know those in the Northern hemisphere love Pompano, tried both but prefer our coral trout. See there's another recipe for me to try, always quality content Rod.
I love the camp & cook vids, could watch them all the time! Had a great fish cook up myself today…did some beer battered Lake Trout for lunch with the boys at work, homemade Tartar with chips, so good! Cheers from Superior’s North Shore! 🇨🇦
Embarking on a solo camping adventure on a remote uninhabited island demonstrates your courage and self-reliance. Your ability to embrace solitude and connect with nature in its purest form is truly commendable. Wishing you safe and memorable adventures ahead! And I Am Floating Village Life
16:29 When you toss away the germinating root of that coconut my childhood self yelled "That's the best part of the old coconut, Rod! You don't throw it away, you eat it!"

I freaked out when he chucked it, whenever you find a sprouting coconut. That is natures candy (apart from honey)
But. Yes. Don’t throw it away. Eat it! Then go get more and eat that because you will love it so much
Im bummed I chucked it now😄 next time i'm looking for one to try for sure!
Live and learn mate, I'm dying to try one like that. Brilliant vid once again. What an awesome spot
Yes the outer yellowish part should be a tad bit salty, but the white foam like textrure inside it is the sweet part.
